I know! The trumpet players deserve nothing but a slap on the face and a semi to run over their miserable instruments! I declare war on all bad trumpet players!!

o__O That's insane. We don't do chairs in our bands - my BD just rewards the better players with certain parts, I suppose. Hmmm...my BD is also a trumpet player, so he tends to favor them just a TINY bit more than many of the other instrument groups, thus making the flutes and percussionists the butt of his jokes. But we know he doesn't mean any of it.

So get your own tuner. Eventually you will learn exactly where to set your flute so it will be in tune all the time. Good luck to you!

I don't really see alot of flute forum around here. This is my first year to be in a band and tecnically i play a beginner flute. It is hard playing a flute I have to blow really high.man sometime its so hard to play the flute that I ran out of breath too easily. In my school flute have to play first. My teacher says that last year band only have 11 student.I felt so srry for them.

My director is forced to love the flutes and clarinets. We're the best players he's got. xD Inevitably when the trumpets are sitting back there lost and the trombones have no clue what's going on, the flutes (or at least one... the first chair flute is AMAZING) are still going. As I've told him many times: It's because we're awesome. whee
