Elros nodded. "I suppose it was even more of a surprise to him because I said nothing of it when we met again at Haven," he mused. "Though at that time I believed that Alena was dead, so I had no real reason to bring it up."

"Not to mention, if I recall the only time he visited Haven was because of Aragost, which is enough to give anyone a shock to their system," Lin replied somewhat sheepishly since it had been her who had asked Sir Valdemar if he knew an Aragost.
Those were fun times.

"I always knew he couldn't be dead," Elros said certainly. "If Morgoth himself couldn't kill him, nothing could."
"I must admit, I doubted it," Alena murmured. "I was sure that he would have shown up to prevent the separation of the races, to help his daughter ... when he didn't, I was convinced that he could not be alive. Not here."

Lin mused on this, it wasn't the first time that one would wonder why Aragost did not help his family, but Lin had seen Aragost, he already looked like he had fought through hell and back, and that was before he lost his sight in tracking to that creature that had gotten loose.
"I know he traveled away from the Four Lands," Lin murmured, "Though that was mentioned in passing."
She never did ask Aragost about the other lands, she didn't know why. Maybe because she didn't think there would be any fun in that.

"He was never in Amon Darthir," Alena said promptly. She paused, then added, "Now I'm curious to know where he was. Now that we know that there are many more lands out there ..."
What could he possibly tell them about the lands they didn't yet know about?

"Many more," Lin mused thinking back on Luk, "And many more types of people."
If someone would have told her she would have met this many societies, she would have laughed. The chances of something like this was incredibly unlikely normally.

Elros smiled faintly as they walked up towards the palace. "You know, I can't help but wish that we were going with you when you bring Luk home again," he murmured. "To see with my own eyes a land so filled with intermarriages ... "

This too was not surprising, Lin herself was looking forward to being back there just to see it all. It was one more place where maybe she and Earendil could stay permanently.
Not that she was looking for a place to settle down yet, but it was always good to keep it mind for the future.
"It is, from what we managed to glimpse a really unique place," Lin replied.
Miyuki waited for the adults to catch up before running on ahead. She didn't really understand at all why it was unique, but she did like all the white buildings.

"No kidding," Elros murmured. "I have been around for a long time, and I have never heard of these other races of elves that are there."
"And I have been around almost since the beginning," Alena added. "And I have not seen or heard of these different races of elves."
She looked at Elros and grinned impishly. "Perhaps we could ask Her Majesty if we could go as official liasons," she winked.

That was an awfully good point, there had to be something about that place that there would be other types of elves.
"There's a thought," Lin replied with a grin.
It made her wonder how Aethos and Luk were doing since they were stuck in discussions with Queen Atelya.

It wasn't much longer before they were back at the castle, and Elros and Alena set out to find Sir Valdemar to talk with him right away, leaving Lin and Miyuki to themselves.

Now that they parted company this allowed Miyuki to take her Mommy's hand (because she wasn't going to run away from her Mommy that would be bad), and hurry as fast as she could tug her Mommy to her Ada's study.
Which is where Miyuki was sure that her Ada would be. Where else would he be?

Earendil's study was empty (at least of people, there were books and journals and writing equipment stacked all over the shelves and his desk as if he had hurriedly put everything there and not put it away), but one of the guards who stood in the hall knew what Lin and Miyuki wanted.
"My Lord Prince is in Her Majesty's study," he told them before they even asked. "At least, that is where he was heading the last I saw him."

"Thank you," Lin smiled before looking down at Miyuki, "I guess we better go and do something else while we wait for him alright?"
"Why can't we go and see Ada now?" Miyuki asked, if they knew where he was couldn't they just go anyways?
Lin attempted to usher Miyuki back down the hall, "He's busy at the moment, if he's seeing the Queen, then he's busy."
"But Mommy!" Miyuki protested but she didn't stop walk where her Mommy wanted to be walking.

The guard hesitated a moment, then called out, "I am certain he would be most happy to see you if you were to join them."
Atalya after all was getting a report on the different countries they had visited, and Earendil wasn't the only one in there; Lin and Miyuki had also gone on the trip, they could be of help providing points of view that no one here would have.
