well I personally don't see a point in continuing the explanations, they are rather dull. I would advise that you stop ndbt09

...The whole point in Chris's smart a**-y-ness is to cause a bit of unnerving with other people. While he doesn't always realize he'd making people angry he's almost always gotta prove he's right in the end. Its part of his character. He can't be perfect and always make people happy now...
I mean I gave him a '7' on his intelligence score without superpowers augmenting it....that's gonna give someone a bit of a big head at times...
Sadly I have not enough time to post right now...(might give Brian a chance to respond before I do anyway,) I have Martial Arts, and I'll be back probably in 2 hours...

lol, in a way it's kind of good to have a character that gets under people's skin. That means its written well.
BUT The physics really should stay out of the game. I think it causes more trouble than not especially for us who aren't very gifted in the field of physics wink I gladly declined the class in high school.
We can't all have fluffy bunnies and rainbows in our posts. smile

You do need at least basic physics to understand the basis of the power itself at least. (I'm sure others have powers that do require some basic physics knowledge to bring out their full potential) Outside of basic Newtonian physics, (and just some offhanded stuff on special relativity,) that I have no further physics knowledge, nor did I intend to try to use physics to overpower my character in anyway, but I can't see myself outright throwing all science out of the picture when RPing him. Its too fun not to throw in those kind of lines when he's using his powers, (sort of a way to try to intimidate his opponents with knowledge...)
Besides, Antonio actually got the right answer to the contest...at least the thing Chris was trying to correct him on...

Sure you need to know basic stuff rules of science so things need plausible, but anything past the basics isn't necessarily required to the point where everybody has to ace physics to get it. I'm totally not saying that's what you did. smile I'm just saying we don't ever want to get to that point with any character. Cause lord knows we'd need to explain more than just how the powers work... wed have to explain how the powers don't kill our characters for just having them.

On a side note, I think there may be some reverse psychology creeping in...Why is it when someone is told not to do something that they feel the need to check it out anyways? XD By the way, this does come from experience...but more hands-on than education related.

It's like telling somebody NOT to push the red button. Had nobody said anything about the red button, it would probably wouldn't even be noticed if you don't say anything about it.

*nods* Sorry for sounding a bit defensive there, I just had a bad experience with a past x-men RP on mIRC where no matter how much I made my character's powers as detailed and limited as possible they just kept hounding me saying that my power was still overpowered and I wasn't 'trying' to make it any less powered...I still think I'm the only person on their black list because of that whole fiasco...
I just didn't want to feel like I was being hounded for being 'too' intelligent with my character...But seriously...I could see Chris opening some kind of segment or club of the X-Academy designed specifically to use physics and science to expand other people's powers to their absolute max potential...

I totally understand, Zenas! You really won't find much of a problem with this game when it comes to that. Our players are generally fair when it comes to power matches and the mods keep an eye on it too. We don't like anybody being super god modded and beating everybody when it makes no sense. Like it would be totally unrealistic of Evie getting out of power blasts unhurt.
lol, I thikn it would be cool if your character started something like that. I'm sure Dr. McCoy would be a sponsor.
