I think you need some more.
1d6+4 gives you a maximum of 10. The average human has an INT score of 10. And Spartans would need to be a bit smarter than your everyday joe shmoe off the street in order to be functioning Spartans.

I always wanted to try out "that ability" on undead unfournately I need a stronger level of undead NPC to try it out on and depending on the type of undead other complications are bound to arise.

Vahn Kyonuske Does your ability involve necrophilia? No it doesn't involve undead exactly I just always wanted to use it on undead for a few reasons. One of those reasons is for reaction. This ability is usually pretty digusting to look at and I haven't used it to this day.
