Jami laughed and tickled her gently. "Yes, I would. I just wanted to know more about you."

Alyssa giggled, trying to shove his hands off her since she was very ticklish. "Well, my dad is an engineer, a mechanic, and a repairman, which is how I learned to fix things, and I don't know much about my mom...she was murdered when I was 6."

Jami laughed lightly, then blushed as he felt his hands close around her's. He reluctantly let them go after a long moment. "Y-yeah. My father is Janus Hailon. He was an Echani warrior from Rakata Prime, so he learned to fight with swords early on. He became a top Republic warrior. My mother was a transport pilot named Mikra Shan ((NO RELATION TO BASTILA)) from Naboo." He smiled lightly as he said the next part. "They met on Bakura."

"Hmmm...I wonder if they knew my dad...he's one of the best repairmen on that planet..." she said sadly. "I miss him...and my brothers..."

((Yeah, sorry, that was my fault. Didn't leave ya much choice lol))
He looked back to the boxes and concentration showed on his face. What is our purpose here? I mean, I know that we are meant to be like the diplomatic people of the galaxy, but the jedi are obviously equiped to do so much more. Why exactly aren't we out fighting evil?
Clearly he had put some thought into the question, and wasn't sure as to why they all stayed here instead of fending off disasters. So many things could be warded off master, so many could be saved... He let his voice trail off.

You ask why don't we "fight Evil" but what is evil? how do you define evil? At what point does something go from being wrong to evil? Our main job is to keep the peace, because we do not want to control the republic. If we go around "fighting evil" we no longer become peace keepers but something worse.

Jami shrugged and murmered softly to her. "Perhaps. I don't know much about their past other than the fact that they were both working for the Republic."

"I wouldn't know, either...they fixed things for a living, and that's all I knew about them...dunno if they did something else before kids or not..." Alyssa replied, leaning backwards onto the railing. "Hey, have you seen Master Adonis lately?"

But master, when does letting people die when we could have saved them become right? I don't mean to question you, I'm just curious. We can be defenders if we go and save people.

"No, not recently. I was wondering where he was myself." Jami shrugged, ignoring the gripping fear he felt as he saw Alyssa lean on the railing. He could just see her falling over the edge to the untold levels below....

Sensing Jami's fear, she stopped leaning on the railing. "You think I'm gonna fall?"

"N-no, it's not that. Don't worry." Jami shrugged weakly and sighed. "I just hate heights is all. I fell off of a cliff when I was younger and shattered my arm. But don't let that stop you." He shrugged and leaned on the rail.

"Okie, you asked me a question...now it's my turn..." Alyssa said, giggling. "How come you're so open around me, but when other people come around, you clam up your emotions? Just trying to appear tough?"

Jami pondered this for a long moment, then spoke slowly. "I don't know, honestly. I've always been a loner, since I never spent much time around people on Ansion or when I was in space transporting people. But I just feel much more relaxed around you, like I can tell you anything." He shrugged.

"That's good..." Alyssa replied, smiling slightly. It made her feel better that people were begining to trust her. "What is it that makes people from Outer Rim homeworlds seem untrustworthy? Just because they've never heard of our planet?"
