"Have you ever seen a tear in the Ozone?" Jacob retorted, "And as for the ground changing, I have no idea what that was about! Mind tricks or something."

"You've gotta be kidding! We were on a platform floating in the sky! I threw a rock off the edge!"
--
"I see. Well, Joe, welcome to our town. Don't do anything stupid and we won't have to kill you."

"Prove it!" Jacob shot back, "Listen! We just need to know where we're at if we all wanna go back home, so please, try to cooperate."

Paul groaned internally; there were several machines. He should've taken down the pilot and taken the Great Armor. He began to wonder if it would've been better to have collapsed the building from the outside with Darius' assault. What Darius could do, though, was throw stuff into the building. Unfortunately, on his own it would take Darius several minutes to form up a body, and only then if he knew to do it. How could they do that? How, oh how, oh how...

"Realllly. And that'll happen how?" another asked.
"I'm not getting any reception," someone else complained.
--
"Hey, get those Knight Armors running!" "The Augs are all ready, right?" "The Augs are fine! Get the Knight Armors!" "The Grand Armors are okay!" "Augs are go! Grand Armors are go!" "Knight Armors!?" "Ten seconds!" "Knight Armors are go!"
The warehouse's mana flow was disrupted by dozens of newly-appearing REFs.

((Jacob: BEAT-DOWN TIME.))
"Marco-" Paul hissed, but he had a better idea. Staying in the crowd, staying low, he ducked behind a little grove of pipes from which he could enter and exit without being noticed, then shouted "Wait! Wait, see that one? There's something wrong, look at it!" His pipe-busting ways weren't working.
He didn't know what they were doing, but he didn't want it to happen.
As soon as his shout was out, he ducked out of the forest of pipes, thankful for the echoing qualities the pipes would have lent his voice - both unrecognizable and hopefully untraceable.

((I'm quite tempted, trust me))
"It'll happen if you'll just cooperate, if you don't want to get out of here, that's fine, I have ways to get out of here and trust me, I'll leave you behind if you don't want to go home." He was fighting back the urge to hit some of these people.

Dang it. Where was Athena? He was gonna put a shot through Caleb's skull.
No, that wouldn't be helpful, they'd hone in on him too fast unless he made it a really clean thing. What were they doing, anyway? No, now it was time to wait, let the vehicles leave and then... then the REF would be reduced, and he could knock out home base. They'd need to resupply back here sometime.
"Marco, any better ideas?" Paul murmured, not quite sure where he was.

"Knights, sweep the building! Augs, check the rafters and roof! Grand Armors, hold the main halls! Everyone, back to your quarters!" someone in the warehouse yelled.
--
"I want to go home," a man stated to Jacob, staring at him. "I want to go home and see my wife and my son. Explain what's going on." He was well-dressed, bald, and had thick glasses.

Jacob smiled at the man, "Good, I'm glad to hear you care about your life. If I knew what was going on, I'd tell you, all I know is that our plane was attacked by something and this is where we ended up. We should be safe for now, I'll keep it that way."

"I see." The man sat down on the grass. "Please, tell us what's going on. We saw the fight. That other guy was on fire. That other man was going all over impossibly fast. I'm sick of not knowing what's happening."

Paul definitely knew how to handle this one. He had no idea where his quarters were, but someone else knew where some quarters were. His body disposal job was a bad thing, and someone would start to suspect; fortunately, they'd have no idea what the guy was wearing before, at least not for a while. His chances of staying hidden were growing slim, but he was relatively confident he could break clear if worst came to worst. "Marco, get the clothes and the rifle and come on, we're following someone home." Paul latched onto someone who looked unimportant and began following him, not as though following but as though they lived close to each other.
