Vista's problem is a lack of third party support due to crappy compatibility with everything. The OS itself though shouldn't be frying hard drives. That sounds a lot more like shotty hardware and assembly from Dell than a problem due to Vista. And since I've heard a decent number of complaints about Dell products it reinforces my belief that it'd be something on their end.
Honestly though Kage, if you can manage to get it I'd go with Windows 7 over Vista just because it is a lot better and releases fairly soon.

I haven't heard that much about Dell computers. My brother has a Dell, and it is a really crappy computer. I didn't know that it was universal though. I'll have to tell my professor about that.
I was posting in another one of my guilds and one the members was getting kind of nostalgic about when the guild started. That got me thinking about some things that have changed on Gaia. Has anyone seen any pink links around in a while? I was asking a couple people about it, and no one seems to know if they still have them or not. Then again, those people had never even heard of pink links. sweatdrop

I'm fairly certain pink links were removed with one of the past forum updates. If they haven't been then I haven't seen one or seen anyone talk about getting one in years.
I am uber happy today. I finally brought my entertainment setup into realm of new technology. I replaced my old 13" faded color, mono sound tube tv with a 32" LCD HDTV with full 1080p. It's so beautiful crying

Wow... That is quite the TV! Congrats Kenny! I only have a 13 inch screen tv/vcr combo that I got about 5 1/2 years ago. And the VCR is broken on it.. sweatdrop However, I do have a cute Menchi plushie on top. biggrin
Now that I think about it, pink links would be almost useless nowadays. Now that earning gold is so quick and easy, getting a random 1000 gold wouldn't seem like much anymore. sad That reminds me, don't you think it's kind of hilarious how everyone is complaining about how hard it is to get gold? The irony is what makes me laugh.

You act like it's a bad thing to be an old member. lol There are a few things I really miss. For one, I miss the involvement with the NPC's and the map. I liked using the map to get to the shops. I miss the old color schemes too. When Gaia went white, it made the site feel colder. I liked the pastels. I really wish I had been here to see the tightly knit community that all of the 03 members describe all the time.
What kind of phone did you get? I recently got an LG Vu. I absolutely love it! heart

Yeah, it's not a bad thing except when you think that the price for a letter is so much higher than it was.
I got the enV Touch. It's got so much stuff to mess with.

Uncle Kenny Yeah, I still remember when it was a challenge questing to get 3k to buy a donation letter. (There are multiple things in that sentence that show how old I am, sad) *hug* Remember when my selling them for <5k was cheap?? @_@ I miss my Nitemare Scarf. crying ; About Windows 7, thankfully I have the Academic sharing thing so they better be posting it for us students. If not, as a member of IEEE i can get it discount. I want it. @_@

Kage, student discounts are always good. They sent out information kind of like what you were talking about to my campus also. I haven't bought anything with it though. I'm kind of broke irl.
Kenny, I haven't heard of the enV Touch. Who makes that one?

Yeah, I need a new laptop but once I get that then I'm going to get my free Windows 7 copy. I want to wait for a new computer so I can get one with enough hardware that the 64-bit version will actually be worth it.
The enV Touch is a Verizon phone made by LG: http://reviews.cnet.com/cell-phones/lg-env-touch-verizon/4505-6454_7-33665903.html

That looks like a pretty cool phone! biggrin Mine doesn't have regular keyboard built in like that.
I changed my avi to fit how I'm feeling. I've been sick. xp I've slept most of the day, and I been battling rivers of sinus drainage. Thank goodness for Labor Day!

Yeah it's pretty awesome. I still haven't messed with everything that it can do.
Boo being sick. Labor Day is nice though I have to work but it's not that bad since I get time and a half.

*huggles Kage back*
Ever since I got my LG Vu, I have been in the bad habit of checking my e-mail, myspace, and Gaia while driving to and from campus. sweatdrop I am such an internet addict, that it probably isn't wise to let me have mobile internet that fits in my pocket. lol
