"If tho-se other sources want to deliver news, then fine. the elves have methods as well as the star eyes of figuring it out...but they are also more likely to listen to the star eyes or the elves even if they try to assure them thier place is here. The pirate ships, and thier crew are just hired help as far as they are concerned. In this case they'll expect us to listen to them, not the other way around."

"And yes, you didn't agree to this thing Hunter did for safe port in the city. But you are part of the trip. and lets say your right, hunter is bound by his deal to do what they say, as hired help. alone, without the dragons, Fang on your tail, and almost no maps about this place, you really willing to risk it?"

Logan didn't give the little one a look, he just wanted to be left alone for the time being. With a little sigh he just gave a nod and left, heading into the ship and looking fir a place to stay. After searching the ship for awhile he found some empty space and once he found out nothing actually occupied it he made himself conformable, just by sitting down on the floor and his body to the wall. Logan didn't take up much space and he did not need anything special to sleep on. Closing his eyes he reached in and grasped the pendant that hanged around his neck, he just needed to know she was still close to him, even though she was a plane away.

"Says you." Still as obstinate as ever, this was her ship damn it and things weren't going to just bowl her over. But her eyes narrowed again and she pushed off the desk and stalked toward the dragoness. "Are you saying that I can't get out of her on my own sheer cunning and resourcefulness?"

"I'm saying you'd be hard pressed. Fang's ship isn't the only one under his flag. he doesn't have to keep on your tail if he knows where you are."
she got herself up.
"We have two beings on our ships that can rearrange the world as they see fit for thier needs. we have two elves, one a necromancer and one some kind of mercenary. I'm guessing either some kind of warrior for hire, or an assassin. you got a halfbreed that knows as much about ships as I do about riding a horse. you have a gold child that is like sending up a signal flare to riders with a bright sign saying 'valuable cargo for the taking'."
"Now we take away the star children. that is the only thing that saved Bell's life, and kept your ship from being smashed into splinters while it tried to get the child. we take away Kanzec and Bell, you've just lost you best defense against riders. the halfbreed doesn't know enough to be a threat to them despite anything. they'll take him down with long practiced ease. Fang's ship is now reinforced with black dragon scale on her hull, masts, and even her sails. wonder where he managed to come across that."

"So you can't trust the black to not turn on you the second his nephew is gone. how are your odds looking, Captain? I'm not trying to threaten or demean your skills. Just saying that certain information should probably be kept restricted to you and maybe thobias, and that's it if you can help it. Both you and hunter are on unfamiliar sands, in Fang's playground."
"and unfortunatly, if those little ones find the city to be a higher priority then the shards at this time, then your going to lose alot of potential help, due to hunter's deal, and kanzec's obstinance."

“Aren’t you going to awful far lengths to simple mean ‘keep your mouth shut, Gem’? I’m not ignorant to the things going on around me. And I don’t appreciate you saying I’m stupid enough to trust anyone out here but myself and my crew. Need I remind you that it’s Hunter’s piddling with things better left alone that has kept us from moving immediately on and thus farther from Fang and before he can pass his information to others.” Shaking her head. “Right now, the main concern is getting as far as possible in any direction that is away from Fang. I’ll cross bridges as I come to them, same as I always have.”

A slight grin.
"I suppose I am. But I also want to let you know that the Chimera will aid you, as long as she can, as often as she can while we're on the same route. Fang won't be getting the Claw without the Chimera. So as long as we keep in the dark those that need kept in the dark, then you have at least one ally to call on if you need it. We'll share what maps we can, and I have some connections in local atolls and dragon clans. we'll get these things, get the hell out of here, and everyone will be happy."

There was silence as he understood her clarification somewhat and he returned to cleaning her off as he thought about it. Usually, the Guardians were all about results and acting as a united team to achieve such ends. But then again, they rarely ran head first into things without some semblance of information or strategy at least. This time, even he had no idea what they had been dealing with. "We didn't know what it was but we had to stop it, one way or another. I know what you were thinking. You distracted it, tested how it would react to your electricity and if that would shock it into submission, or temporary paralysis at the very least. I assume the Laerethe intervened in the end. But if they hadn't, things would have gotten out of control." Which inevitably lead his mind down other paths... Hand pausing, golden eyes glanced down and gave her a full visual sweep again, which made him frown. "You could have been more hurt, Jae."

That got a bit of a suspicious look and she tilted her head at the dragoness. “Wait a moment…now I know those words didn’t come from Hunter. He’d never risk his ship and such to haul in with me if I needed anything.” Watching her before a sigh, “There’s something you want isn’t there? Or him. Come on Desi, level with me. Woman to woman.”
And that’s what she thought as well…they both knew that if it got out of hand, there she would be going with the liability thing again. “Risks.” Which he should remember their discussion on risks so he would understand where she was coming from at least. A frown from her and she bit her bottom lip to hold in her noises as he was continuing in his dutiful motions. That abruptly stopped. Amber eyes turned back to his own gold ones…she didn’t know how to feel about that look he was giving. He was either about to chastise or yell at her…or at least that’s what her mind said that his logic based self would do from previous examples. Breaking gaze with him she turned her face back into his chest…it wouldn’t do her any good to say she was sorry again. Best just to let him get on with it. “I understand.”

"We don't want anything from you, Gem. I will make sure aid is given because it is in our best interest to do so. Hunter is becoming more and more disillusioned with these arrangements between him and Lycear. He feels the star eyes are going to just throw him to the wolves once his need has run out and he's already making plans for that. By helping you, I can spread word to the clans, with whom we'll need to interact with. staying off the known courses, staying from atolls is probably the best way to do it, and the nomads and the dragon clans can provide supplies we need. preferably the clans."
She looked around, before opting on getting out a map and a quill flipping it over to the back of it and writing it down, and showing it to Gem.
'The clans are starting to unite in the face of a common enemy. Brish's name change was to give her some cover to spread the word. the further the word spreads, the quicker it'll happen.'

A grin then, "So in other words you're taking the 'behind every man is a great woman' approach are you? I see...Hunter can't get it together himself so you're going to pull his strings so he dances to the proper tune and not get us all killed or something of the sorts." Watching as Desi wrote things then played show and tell...hm, smart one not saying such things out loud. "Ah I see. A haul together approach. And the common is?" Because she could think of several answers to that one, but she was at least speaking in terms that others wouldn't be able to pick out easily if they were listening in. She knew the game.

"It's not lycear he doubts. it's trusting the star eyes to not flash everyone home once the job is done and leave him out in the sands in a bad situation. But basically, your right. I'm playing the great woman. As to the common...it's the yoke."
A small grin.
"Myself and Hunter have been getting along good so far, I've managed to keep his head mostly level. He's a bit on edge with this issue from the Prince. though he still won't tell anyone what happened to get him in this situation in the first place. not even Richard's knows what the original deal was. and I was hoping he'd know something since my absence from the ship."

If he thought he was getting rid of her, he was crazy. She'd been told to stick by his side and that's what she was going to do. Bouncing along behind him as he scoured the ship for a bed, she settled to a steady bounce next to him. "Are you going to sleep? I didn't know you slept? How come you're sleepin' in the daytime?"
