"Ah, I see," Haldir nodded. He paused, looking at Lin thoughtfully, and then added, "Forgive me if I'm wrong, or if it's none of my business, but the last time you and Prince Earendil were here, I thought I was picking up something between the two of you ..."
Though if she had a child, and she hadn't said anything about her and Earendil adopting, only herself ...

Lin blushed, seriously did everyone but her know about this? It really made her question her observation skills on a regular basis every time someone new brings it up.
"We're, courting at the moment, not that Miyuki knows the difference, she's known Earendil all her life so she already sees him as her father."
And she had done nothing to discourage that one.

"Ah, I see," Haldir murmured, looking suddenly thoughtful. A trace of a smile crossed his face. "Yes, that is interesting." His eyes focused on Lin again and he smiled at her. "I wish you all the best, all three of you."
There was a sparkle in his eyes, as if there were something that was amusing him.

Lin looked at him curiously, she was grateful to know that he wasn't at all bothered by this, but then again anyone who brings up how they acted around each other probably didn't mind.
"Did I miss something?" she asked, "You seem... amused."

Haldir cleared his throat. "Forgive me," he murmured, though his smile only grew wider. "I was just thinking to myself."
He cleared his throat to try to rid himself of his amusement and bowed his head at Lin. "So. Is there anything I can help you with?" he asked warmly.

"Miyuki wants to pick out something for Earendil," Lin explained.
She giggled a bit, even though she knew she shouldn't seeing as Miyuki was utterly serious about this.
"Earendil joked last night to bring something back for him when we go out today, but Miyuki took that seriously, and we all know he has quite the sweet tooth."

Haldir chuckled. "Yes, my old friend has quite the sweet tooth indeed," he murmured. "Though since Halaleel began to harass him, he hasn't been coming around as often. It's good to know that it's not his sweet tooth that's the problem."

Somehow Lin wasn't all that surprised to hear that, Earendil she knew was not fond of the woman at all.
Fortunately she was saved from saying anything on that matter by Miyuki who came back with a bagful of candy shaped like little sail boats.
"I found them!" she announced proudly, "And they smell like mint."

Haldir smiled at Miyuki. "I see you've made a selection," he said warmly. "How do you like the shop?"
It was after all mostly for children, and if the children weren't satisfied with it, how could any adults be?

"I like it a lot!" Miyuki exclaimed, "There's a lot of pretty candy."
She also liked it that it didn't smell too sweet, since she tended to have a better sense of smell than most people, but she didn't know how to describe that.
She set the bag on the counter so it could be paid for.

Miyuki was just too cute not to like, even on first acquaintance.
He picked up the bag and felt its weight in his hand. "That's everything today?"

And it was a quick and simple transaction, and only a minute later they were finished.
"Is there anything else that I can help you with?" he asked, his smile quite genuine.

"No," Lin replied shaking her head, "I don't think so, not unless Elros and Alena are going to get something."
She didn't know where they went, and checked behind her to see what those two were up to.

The couple was talking quietly to each other as they browsed through the rows and shelves of candy, but it didn't seem as if they were particularly interested in making a purchase.
Haldir tilted his head slightly. "It doesn't quite look like it," he quipped.
