Mace could have killed him while Anakin was there, that would have made the most sense...when he was down...even if it was a ruse he was still defenseless...

true but maybe mace hesitated thinking that strikeing him down would be a path to the dark side.

also true, but I think the Vaapad-Mace would have done it without listening to anakin's bitching. Nor would he have pulled his arm back for such dramatic strike. He would have just skewered him by...leaning forward

Well Mace had trained for years so that the Juyo wouldn't bring him to the Dark-side, so that might be out of the question.

Mace would've kicked Palpatine's butt if Anakin hadn't interfered, whining about how much Palpatine needed to stay alive.

You know after recently rethinking some thing good Nute Gunray dying at the hands of Anakin by a vicious lightsaber slash to the chest. I practically cheered a little when that happened when seeing Episode 3 for the first time in the cinema.

Question that came to mind at the end of episode 3 were those ships Acclamators the one Vader and the Emperor were on overseeing the Death Star's starting stage of construction? You get to see them just before the TIE Fighters fly fully in to the screen.

Maybe, but by that time they had Star Destroyers, so It could be Victory/Venators.
