Kaya emerged from the cave behind his friends. He had felt....odd. Perhaps nostalgia, remembering his childhood years at home. Perhaps fear of just what Notaro and his minions were up to. He wasn't sure. He just felt uneasy.
Emerging from the mountain's inner caverns, the prince's first sight was of his friends fighting each other. Running over to Brayden, he threw his arms out to the sides, blocking the boy's path. "What are you doing!?" he shouted in alarm. "Why are you attacking Chloe?" he asked.
"And where did you learn the Water Dancer's Chant?" he wondered after a moment. "Why didn't you tell me you were Harmonian, Bray? Why did you lie to me?" he asked, sounding as if he were begging now.

Chloe looked up to Julian, nodding slightly. She was a bit shaken, but other than that, she wasn't injured, "I'm fine," she murmured, frowning slightly at Julian's state, "You seem to be worse for wear than I, in any case," she allowed a small smile to flit across her features for a moment.
She was dry, however, and unharmed by Blaire's flames. The gauntlets had taken much of the excess heat from her. They were warm to the touch at the moment, but the added heat certainly didn't bother her at the moment.
Daimon rose from the snow, shaking the excess from his head as he hovered once more, still glaring at Brayden. He was about to charge back into the fight with Cye, however, a look from Chloe had him begrudgingly standing by. Although he certainly wasn't too happy about the situation. It was the first time Chloe had ever seen him grumble about something.
She made a quick mental note of her inventory, but nope, she didn't have any burn heals on her. Just a paralyze heal, which she didn't really think would help Julian any.
"You're the one we should worry about," she muttered to the boy.
Chloe looked to Brayden questioningly, unsure of what he would do.

Brayden looked to Kaya blocking his way, frowning slightly. Cye simply yawned, not really getting what was going on, but figuring the humans would work whatever it was out. Then maybe they could grab some lunch. Lunch was good. Seeing that the battle was pretty much over between him and Daimon (a shame, he sort of wanted to see how that would have ended up), the Feraligatr returned to his Pokeball, leaving Brayden to face the other three.
"Move, please," Brayden requested quietly of the prince between himself and the others, "I was... I was," wait... what exactly was he doing anyway? Brayden blinked, slightly confused for a moment, before looking back to Kaya.
The questions Kaya had posed had been good ones, ones that Brayden himself wished he knew the answers to. He lowered the buckler slightly, confusion washing over him for a moment. He didn't know the Harmonian language, and had no clue what the chant Kaya was referring to was all about, but there was something...
A wave of pure hatred came over Brayden at that moment as he simply stared at Kaya for a moment. A thirst for revenge, and rage, overcame his own confusion, as his eyes narrowed. The buckler rose.
And so did the snow around Brayden, awakening back into its liquid state in a flurry of movement, as the buckler shone brightly once more. It was his own actions once again, ruled by the emotions running through him, he brought his arm up, the water following, before he released it at the other three.
Kaya was his first target, being the closest. Brayden called the water to strike at Kaya. It laced around the prince, as another blast headed towards Chloe and Julian in the rear.

"B-Bray?" Kaya stuttered as the snow around him melted into water. "Brayden, stop." he begged as the water assailed him, the freezing cold assaulting his senses. "Gah!" Falling on his butt in a snowdrift several feet away, the man looked quite blue.
"B-B-Bray...den..." he stuttered out as he climbed to his feet, shivering heavily."S-stop it!" he cried as he slapped the younger male across the face. His eyes held such consternation that one looking on them might feel compelled to run in fear of reprimand for their actions.
((Sorry for the delay in postage. I've been doing a roofing job with my dad since Monday and I've been exhausted every day. We got to quit early today. We should be done tomorrow night, which means money for The Whysp. =D ))

Julian shook his head and smiled slightly. "I'm fine Chloe, It's just a little burn." He told her in a fairly strained voice and laughed slightly. He looked back over at Brayden and saw that Kaya had arrived but that he didn't appear to be making any progress with Brayden. "Looks like Kaya arrived.." He told Chloe.
It was then that Brayden attack with water again, causing Julian to roll out of the way and push Chloe even farther out of the attack. He screamed as the icy water rushed against his burnt skin, cuting ito his flesh and leaving bleeding cuts that froze upon contact with the icy air.
Julian crawled slightly and forced himself back up onto his feet. One he rose his head it became clear that the Arbok DNA within him had begun to arise again. The pupils of his eyes appeared like those of a snake his fangs had grown longer again, dripping poison. It took everything Julian had within him o keep from launching himself at Brayden and biting him. Instead Julian rose his hand and pointed at Brayden. "Blaire, try using a thunder wave on Brayden. Perhaps we can stop Notaro if we paralyze Braydens body." He told the small dragon pokemon who quickly obeyed, sending a wave of electricity at Brayden.
It hadn't taken much for Julian to put together that this must be Notaro's doing. According to Kaya Brayden had been speaking Harmonian, something Brayden didn't know but Notaro did. Also Brayden had said before in the cave that he was feeling a weird presence that might be the evil genius.

{{Sorry, I was on vacation. x3 Scalloping went well, although there was a horrible accident shortly after we came back in Friday.}}
Chloe could only watch as the other boys launched their attacks on Brayden, still a bit too chilly to do much else. Her gauntlets had lost the warmth of the flames from earlier, and didn't seem to enjoy the icy chill of the water, but other than that, she was okay, if a bit soggy and cold. It seemed Brayden was in a worse state than she, at any case, so she really didn't concern herself with trifles at the moment. Plus, Julian was more than a little banged up as well, so where did she have any right to complain about a little cold? Heck, this was Snowpoint. Cold came with the scenery...
Daimon was still by her side. Thankfully he had heeded her request to bide his time for the moment. The last thing she wanted to do was attack her friend, no matter the circumstances. Daimon certainly had less reluctance than her, but his loyalty to her won out this battle for the moment. The Kingdra instead, with a bit of huffing in irritation, took to waiting, a bit impatiently, prepared to defend Chloe if he needed to do so.
Chloe opted to wait for Brayden's reaction, hoping that there was a way to get through to him. She was at a loss for words at the moment, due partly to the chill, and partly due to the shock of being attacked by him in the first place. Of course there were several questions running through, begging to be asked. What was happening? Why did he attack the three of them? Was there any way to fight Notaro's... whatever it was that was causing this?

((Glad you got some extra money, Whysper. That's always a good thing. I did a roofing job a couple of times. That is HOT work, especially in the summer months. Hope you took plenty of breaks.
Also glad you had a good vacation, Astral! Scalloping sounded interesting, and if I wasn't so fail at anything fishing related, I might be tempted to give it a go. What happened with the accident? You've piqued my curiosity.
Sadly, my excuse of absence is a little lame. Somehow I caught a cold. In the middle of freakin' summer...))
Brayden stepped backwards with the force of the slap from Kaya, turning a glare to the prince before him. He was about to retaliate, reaching a hand out to grasp Kaya's neck. But it never reached its target, as a wave of electricity washed over him, compliments of the Dratini at Julian's side.
Now, Brayden had never been particularly fond of the stuff, in any form. This dislike had fringed the borders of a phobia for several months after his relatively electrifying encounter in Celadon (although thankfully he had regained some semblance of self-control after a bit of trouble). So, gratefully, he managed not to freak out too much as he suddenly found himself surrounded by the electric charge. Although he certainly didn't like it too much.
The water around him sizzled, some of it hissing into steam, as the rest fell to the ground, slowly changing back into slush naturally, no longer under Brayden's control. He had lost his concentration, as the buckler flickered, before returning to its normal cool metal, with only the faintest of ebbs of blue that reminded oneself of waves on the surface of a calm sea.
Brayden found his limbs unwilling to cooperate with any orders that were given to them, as the Thunder Wave worked its course, locking up his system. His back was the only area that there was any pain, the rest of his body was relatively numb for the most part. He barely managed a strained grunt, before he fell, disoriented, into the snow.
There was an upside to this, Brayden noted, trying to keep optimistic (as optimistic as he could after mildly spitting out a mouthful of snow). It gave him something to focus on. Brayden concentrated on the feeling of the electricity that was slowly starting to dissipate around him. He ignored the feelings of rage, pride, and spite that had washed over him so suddenly. He was finally able to pick them apart from his own emotions (confusion, fatigue, and numbness being on the top of that little list currently). While he still couldn't move freely, at least his mind was a little freer than before.

{{Aw, hope you feel better, Fugueth. D: Seems you always catch a cold this time of year. xD
And yeah, it was fun. We'll have lots of scallops to eat for the next few months. :3 The accident happened shortly after we headed back to the ramp Friday. We had hit an ultra good spot, so we had to head in a bit early, or risk being in trouble with the Fish and Game people for taking too many scallops. xD
Apparently a guy out in the water got hit by a pontoon boat. With scalloping, you basically float on the surface with your snorkel, and dive when you see a scallop at the bottom. So the water isn't very deep, only about 6-7ft.
I think he had dove for a scallop, and came back up, when the boat hit him. They scooped him up quick and took him back to the Sea Hag marina, but he had bled to death before the paramedics could get there. The closest hospital was almost an hour away, so there really wasn't anything they could do, sadly.
I'm not sure whether the boat was too close to him, or he was too far away from his own boat. They never really went into that much detail. But whatever the case, there is no way that pontoon boat should have been going that fast, even if they didn't see any divers in the water.}}
Chloe watched as Julian launched the paralyzing bolt at Brayden, hoping that would be enough to stop the boy. When she saw him stumble into the snow, she hesitantly made her way to Brayden's side. Daimon followed closely behind her, watching the boy carefully, in case he decided to try something again. He was still a bit grumble-ish about being called back, but he still obeyed for the moment.
"Bray?" Chloe questioned, "You back with us?" she inquired as she made her way to the boy's side. She placed a hand on his shoulder, feeling just the faintest of tingles from the Thunder Wave, so it didn't bother her any.

((Oh wow... geez, that's awful. I feel for the guy's family. Glad you made it back safely, though. And it does sound like fun, save for the pontoon boat drivers...
And yeah... I think this is my tri-monthly sick. I have no clue why, but I get a light cold a couple of times every year. You'd think I'd stop being so lame and get knocked off my feet for a day or so everytime it happens... Maybe I need to drink more orange juice?))
Brayden flinched a bit at the touch, but it wasn't because he was in pain. On the contrary, there was a numbness throughout his whole system at the moment, although it was slowly starting to fade. Give or take a few moments, and he might be able to convinve the limbs beneath him to cooperate into standing. He settled for sitting at the moment, scooting a bit so that he wasn't eating any more turf.
While the Thunder Wave slowed his reflexes, it certainly hadn't slowed his mind. Funny thing, that. The gravity of what had just happened, what he had just done, was just starting to sink in all the way. Give the poor boy a moment...
"...Crap..."
Ah, there we go.
Well, at least his tongue still worked to some matter of satisfaction, he noted, although he seemed to have lost a bit of eloquence.
Brayden blinked once, twice, then looked up to Kaya, then Julian, then Chloe, before settling to rest on his own gloved hand resting in the snow. He somehow resisted the urge to close his eyes and count to ten, hoping that this was all just a figment of his overactive imagination, but still kept the utterly baffled look on his face for a few moments.
Until it shifted to mix in just a bit of horror to the look.
The buckler had been lost from his grasp as the Thunder Wave took effect, dropping harmlessly to the snow in front of him. A good thing, for he would have probably chucked the thing like it was a Seviper he had been grasping. Even though he knew it wasn't the cause of whatever had just happened, it had been quite the able tool in inflicting more than a little discomfort on the rest of the crew.
'When had- Why would- How had- What the heck?!' He just couldn't seem to manage much more than that, his thoughts just kept hanging up ever so annoyingly at the 'what the heck' point.
"I..." he started speaking before he really knew what to say, so Brayden paused, trying to gather his thoughts, and still running into the same hapless roadblock.
Well, Chloe had asked a question, that was a good place to start. And soon, before Daimon decided that Bray was still a threat to his trainer. He didn't particularly enjoy the look the Kingdra was giving him.
"I think I'm alright?" although it came out more as a question to himself than a statement. In truth, his mind was a whole lot clearer than earlier. He could actually think, rather than act upon raw emotion, whoever emotions they were. While he was still a bit befuddled, he was better off than before he had gone all AWOL on the rest of the crew.
A little more sure of himself this time, Brayden nodded, "I'm alright, but... I don't think you guys are..." he murmured. Plenty of questions were running through his own mind at the moment, but he assumed that the others had plenty of their own. He could just hope that "When are you gonna get out of here?" wasn't among the itinerary.

Kaya stood in shock as Julian had his Dratini attack Brayden. He was speechless. How could someone attack their friend for any reason? Sure he'd smacked the younger male, but that was from a lover's anger. Surely there was a difference, right?
After a few minutes of staring, eyes empty and mind reeling, he finally snapped to his senses. "Ah! Bray, are you ok now?" he asked as he dropped to his knees next to his partner, gently laying his hand on the boy's chest and the other on the ground. Maybe he could use his body to ground out the remaining electricity.
"What happened?" he asked after a moment. He was genuinely worried for Chloe's well-being, but he had a sinking feeling that Brayden hadn't been himself at the moment. Maybe it hadn't been Notaro in control of him at the moment. He remembered hearing the All Mother when he held his Nagamaki shortly after obtaining it. Perhaps Bray had had a similar experience with some other entity.

Even though Julian was sure that Brayden had been under the influence of Notaro seeing his friend go down due to the paralyss he had caused made Julian tremble slightly as his eyes returned to their normal color. He stared in horror at what he had just commanded his pokemon to do and sank to his knees. "I-I had to stop him." He whispered quietly and shut his eyes.
Blaire looked at her trainer, a bit worried about the way he was now acting. The small dragon pokemon nudged Julian's hand and tried to get him to open his eyes and cheer up.
At Blaire's insistence Julian eventually opened his eyes and looked over at Brayden, all emotions but despair gone from his eyes. "Brayden, are you okay now?" He asked in a dead voice.
