metal isn't that expensive, compaired to the size of a daemonhunters army... you won't be having alot of men unless you have inducted guardsmen or marines backing you up. My largest number I have counted with a strat that works is an amazing... stare around 23 models.. thats not a lot... pretty much 1 termi squad, 2 troops, 2 heavy weapon blisters and 2 dreads

Honestly, if you lack respect for the Daemonhunters because they have advantages against daemons, I am dissapointed in you.

Any sane Chaos player problably wouldn't bring daemons in numbers against Grey Knights anyway, and even if they decided to they did give the Grey Knights a negative special rule in which gives Daemons a bit of help, in order to balance out the system.

So if Daemons are that large of a neccessity in your army, if used correctly they can still be affective.

Sorry, a lot of bonuses against daemons also apply to the chaos marines and vehicles

MekboyUrishima consider the numbers issue. 100 points on each side = 4 grey knights and 10+ daemons. You can easily outnumber them if done right. But to balance out, they have the guns to take them down too. It's
just a matter of chance and good moves.

You also get to respawn all basic Daemons with the Daemonhunters Daemonic Infestation special rule. Since the Adversary rule gives the oppoenent some basic Daemons, they also get to respawn, thus balancing the game more. So yes, Daemonhunters are gunned to take down Daemons, but have to be in order to combat the penalties they have to deal with.

Sacred Incense is the only piece of wargear/special rule I have that works on both Daemons and Chaos Marines specificially, and I am only able to use 1 of those per army, and it is honestly not a mis-balance in the game.

Also, the re-stating of the Demonic infestation term was uneeded I believe. wink

You are correct, the Grimoire of True Names is in fact but 1 per army, however the affect it gives does not apply to chaos models, only Daemons and that is why it was excluded.

The Sacred Incence however works on both Daemons, and other Chaos models and unfortunately is only 1 use per army.

anyway, GK GM with both of these can bring Greater Demon down faster than you can say Necrotelecomnicon... no mean feat for mere mortal

True, although at that stage you are dropping just about as many points as yoru opponent is on his Greater Demon anyway, it's an amazing match, proving the emperor's faith over the vile gifts the daemonic give to their faithful, however in game terms not a huge game saver(speaking from second hand point-of-view, I have never actually dueled a Chaos Space Marine army of anything but actual Chaos Marines).

No Possessed, Statured Lord, or Lord with 51+ points of Gifts?

possibly he fought Alpha Legion or Night Lords, these operate far from Eye of Terror and have troubles getting demons... or just everyone hearing about Grey Knights just took out their no-demons arm lists...

All those options are practically standard issue for even non-daemon-using Legions. wink

In a spot of irony, I plan on taking all 9 Word Bearer troops choices as CSMs. biggrin

No, most people are not willing to begin playing CSM when their friend plays Grey Knights from what they first here, and it takes them too deeply into their first armies to realize that it's actually not that big of a deal fighting GK with CSM, but don't care by that point. wink

In keeping with the "no printing rules" policy, Codex: Daemonhunters, pg. 18:

calm down 3nodding ... yesh... I do hate this codex sometimes.... half the one per army items are listed right in the message that explains what they do and not on the page that tells you how much they cost scream .... makes me quite mad gonk when your reading you miss it if your not careful

No need for calming, I was just looking for an excuse to pixelate rules, y'know? biggrin

I only scanned it because I had assumed it was printing issue, like the fact that my first printing C:CSM allows a Khornate Lord to wield a Berserker Glaive and still take Flight or Speed, while the latest printing specifically disallows it.

And OF COURSE this hasn't been FAQ'd or errata'd.... rolleyes
