How do you ne way? There's a nifty post on installing Japanese characters somewhere on the site. In a minute I'll look for it and tell you. edit: Here's what was in the FAQ: Freakzette If some words just look like boxes, or 'a's and 'e's with accents on them, either one of two things are happending. 1. Your encoding isn't set right. 2. You don't have the East Asian language pack installed on your computer. Encoding is the easier problem to remedy, just go to your web brower's menu, go to View>Encoding and select Unicode or a Japanese code. On your other question, the correct phrase is "konnichi wa" (hiragana: こんにちは)(kanji: 今日は) You should definitely learn hiragana ASAP! Then you'll know that こ = ko ん = n (makes an "ng" sound) に = ni ち = chi は = wa (this character is actually "ha". It is only pronounced "wa" when it is attached to the subject of a sentence) Welcome to the guild, and good luck! We're all learning from the elite members here, so do your best! smile

I said "ng" because I couldn't think of a better way to explain it. (I'm sure I pronounce it right. sweatdrop ) But you're right, looking at it, that's not a good way to explain it at all... because it's not like the "ng" in "dang" or anything. crying Sorry, people, no more listening to Akira... Let's leave it all to Aiko-san!
