Virgil Hawkins AMAZING work, Luce! heart Advertising-wise, is there any way you could get that image on those glossy notecard-type adverts clubs, etc. use and pass them around campus? It's such a great design, I can't imagine it wouldn't entice people to go. Advertising it around the school isn't that big an issue, especially since it barely has 600 students. The lectures series is open to anyone who wants to participate (for a small fee of course, which even the students must pay. Hey, Crispan Freeman is one of our talkers and we've had Udon come in before too, travel money comes from somewhere). It's only about $60-$70 for attending, but you can take it for credit as well (which bumps the price up about 10 times). The issue becomes getting other people out there in the world to know about it. MCAD is reluctant to advertise it because they just don't "get it." This anime and manga thing confuses them. So they make adverts that cater to other designers, who aren't interested in coming to a lecture about pop culture. My job right now is to find other venus to advertise in. Getting an add on Gaia and other sites will be a start. I'm also going ot ask, once the sites are up, if anyone in the guild will be willing to have an SGMS sig that links to the site. Postcards aren't a bad idea though, especially since the club scene in the city is pretty strong, I could leave them around uptown and on the block E strip. I could even send a few to anyone around the country willing to stick them around cons, comimc shops and so forth. heart ninja

Jaeger_Ayers Inque Clay I see, I see said the blind man. ... to his deaf dog... ... over the phone. There is some simularities, but I always thought Inque's work had a bit more personality than Chugston's. I like Chugston, but I'd rather see a comic drawn by Inque. LIES!

I have little to no confidence in panel work or layouts just yet anyway...

Unfortunately. Well my talent is pretty much isolated to writing, hence why Karla does all the drawing. Of course these things don't come easy and I'm sure that I'm not the only one here who would be more than willing to offer you advice in comic creating. I'm sure that none of us here have gotten to where we are creatively, wherever that might be, without copious amounts of mentoring, critiquing, and moral support.

No worries. It's always nice to know that there are people both to look up to and to get support/advice from.
