all our guard does is perform w/ the band....our coach is super excentric about branching out, but most of us (not me though) are only in it not to 'march' which is why we always gets '2's instead of '1's....plus our coach is like mega nice and lets almost anyone in, no matter how badly they try out....

Hullo! mrgreen
Has anyone else ever been rained on while painting a Winter floor?
It rained on us. stare all the paint started running and when we tried to fold it up quickly the person in the middle fell over and slid in the paint 5 feet, coming up covered in green.
It was only supposed to take us until 6, but some people ended up staying until 2 in the morning to try and fix the damage.
our winter show's going to be to the soundtrack from The Fountain!!!! 4laugh

I haven't been rained on like that (except at our homecoming game during marching season) but our coach let us have a paint war and i got one of our helpers right in the ear... the next day at school he was complaining to me because he couldnt get the paint out of his hair... Our floor was ugly we didn't like it but our coach did... soo... yea...

Paint wars are fun. blaugh
Of all the weather elements I've been in during a guard event, I think rain and wind-that-should-be-classified-as-hurricane are my least favorite. Especially when your field costume is sleeveless and the wind is cold, biting wind that belongs in Antarctica and brings the temperature from 50 to 20 Fahrenheit because of wind chill.

Paint wars, sounds fun, I wouldnt know, my school is newish so our guard program hasnt developed enough to paint our floor, but someday...
I spin sabre! I love it! I can get up to a 5 blade and possibly hilt, but I havent tried that yet... I LOVE blade tosses, all my friends think Im insane, but they rock! I even get a solo tossing a blade quad this year =D Im so excited. Rifles not to bad, I spun it in our marching show, but started to dislike it after awhile, its not as flowy (if thats a word...) as sabre. Flag is fun, I love 45's! parallels are fun, I finally got my double parallel! Oh, and I just got the guts to do a parallel with my sabre, in a bit Ill try spinning under it! lol, my friend can do that, hes teaching me, he can also do a rilfe quad parallel, its amazing! lol.
Im also a band geek =D
Aw Im sorry you dont like your guard, I hope it improves =)

OMG ours is too, we aren't even doing a winter show this yr cuz not enough people are interested...they only join guard too get out of playing their instruments during marching season, once that's over, no one cares but like 2 of us!

there are holes on the ceiling in one hallway in our school cause us flags were practicing there.....i made the biggest hole.....

with my flag im the only one who can toss it up, do a little dance and catch it in one hand( im a freshman) but on the other hand the trombones Hate me because i hit there instruments on accident sweatdrop they still hate me....i feel unloved but i love band i have a flute buddy, a tube buddy, a flag buddy too... i have a LOT buddys w/ all the instruments... except trombones cry !!!!!!!!

all fear the large heavy shaking set as you stand behind it with no defenses during state as they all fell(it was scary)(sorry im really small for a 15 year old so large stuff about to crush me is scary)
