Weapons out and body tense, Peyton was ready with the centipedes erupted from the sand and attacked. Taking each of the five disgusting bugs out in turn with a quicker than human snap of the wrist to bury the sharp points of her dangers into each horrific body.
Not before they managed to play havoc with her shield, though. Those pincers hurt.

Aiden had been a little late to the meeting, having been training and lost track of time, though since he wasn't a new Hunter he hadn't thought it was much of a problem. Still he had managed to show up just minutes before the entire group were transported to the Sahara Desert. The newly promoted Intermediate hadn't been here in particular before but when the centipedes started to pop up it didn't take him long to summon Souji out of his ring form and into his Spetum one. Sand, it had to be sand. There was sand on the island too, of course, but not in such vast, endless, bug-filled quantities. Roswell was still brushing off his suit when he heard Lysander's cry of alarm. For Roswell, there was no hesitancy, Gil was immediately in his hand.
"Sir," he cried, centipedes slithering around his own feet and blocking the path to Lysander.
Right, the demon said, Let's send them on their way, shall we? We'll have a jaunt. Here, Roz, bring a hoof down on the back of the heads.

Three of the centipedes decided to surround him and he was quick to swing his spetum out at them then look around for any familiar faces, or at least anyone in need of help even if his own weren't defeated yet.

The canape was just within reach when some beardo swooped by and basically tucked away the whole pan.
Wags and Kingsley's stomachs growled in unison.
"Aw, man," he whimpered. There was a fight, which he also missed, and he found himself deposited in something soft under a blinding wave of heat.
"Yo, we're at the beach!" He cheered. Wags barked too. "Okay, dude," he held up his fingers, "Sea Salt Ice Cream, Funcakes, Hot Dogs, we are finding a dock and we're full-fair, you know what I'm saying?"

"I'm fine," Sam replied, dusting herself off as Kammy took her minor horde out. "Incredibly confused as to how this pertains to orientation, but fine. Shall we see if we can find any clues as to what's going on?" It seemed there was a makeshift tent being erected, but there were more damaged ones she was curious about sifting through. I do not know what any of that is, Wags confessed, But it sounds soooo good.
"Right!"
Oh, there! Wags said, licking his chops. Is that a Funcake? He added an enthusiastic and purposeful, Dude. Let's snack on that!
"Dude," Kingsley said, spear leaping into his hand. "This is how you eat?"
I don't know, Wags confessed again. But with hell riding as my witness, I want to get my fangs into it.
Kingsley considered it for about a split second, before swinging Wags high and digging it into the wriggling centipede, which dissolved in a hissing burst. He felt a mild sting as it knocked at chip off his and Wags' shield, but nothing major. "Awesome," He said, running his hand over the spear. "Awesome!"

He thought he has spotted at least one familiar face in the Trainee Kara he had helped awaken but the centipedes had been determined to get his attention again. Annoyed, Aiden stabbed at them with his spetum. Of course what he wasn't expecting was to catch someone elses Centipedes while doing so but one look at the clearly new Trainee he wasn't about to regret it as they all exploded into black wisps. "Hope you didn't mind the help." He said with a friendly smirk to Artemis. Aiden HP: 20/50 Damage done: (His) 12 + (Artemis mobs)13 + 5 Charge: 3/3 Centipede mobs Centipede HP: 0/15 Auto damage: 5 when destroyed Bonus: Took out Artemis' three mobs too

"If it's a desert, of course it's going to be the bloody Sahara," Nora groused. "It's as if no-one knows about the Gobi, the Sonoran, the Mojave..." She wiped at her face and then removed her scarf, wrapping it around her head and loosely about her neck. "No sense standing around. Stormy touched two fingers to her temple, the old sign for I'm fine, and made her way over. "I forget orientations tend to be rough," she said with a sigh, loosening her coat under the heat. The cold she could handle, but not the desert sun. She looked to the trainees near Gale. "Are you alright? I've got a healing charge at the ready if those things bit too hard." The hand on falling softly on his shoulder resulted in a startled jerk, but wide eyes wild, but upon recognizing Ever, and the sound of his voice, the half raised ax in his hand began to lower, slowly. His expression was a bit wild, flicking through through fear, confusion, and something close to rage. "I..." He glanced down at the sand, then Lagertha in his hand, and finally the blade hit the sand as the arm he'd been holding her with sagged at his side. he looked lost, and tenser than a rubber band ready to snap. His head dipped, free hand coming up to push hair back from his brow. Blowing out a frustrated breath. "I ******** hate this." And there was something a little desperate in his tone.

Cee had been waffling on approaching her friends or remaining mysteriously aloof at the meeting and keeping her whereabouts something to be gone after...
She didn't exactly get given a choice when the floor dropped out and sent her shrieking (yes shrieking, not out of fear but the kind of scream reserved for roller coasters or People Who Shrieked At Anything) into the abyss.
She could feel Snap's presence encircling her and as she hit the sand, no worse for wear, the young woman cursed, "******** to her feet, she had to take off her shoes (but the pencil heels were hooked in her beltloop and secured with a spare hair rubberband) to even walk in the sand. Snap's whips flashed into her hands as the centipedes appeared.
"I hate this ******** place.." She spat, "Fell on my a** and got sand in my cooch and you bitches just can't ******** stop.." It wasn't to anyone in particular but the circumstances.

Only a few steps toward the tent, Abbi found herself stalling. The last time she'd been in the Sahara like this had been so awful, and she never would have made it out without help. She couldn't just leave someone fighting alone!
"Hey!" She yelled at Bradley, "You doing ok? I've got a heal charge ready if you want it!" She almost said she had rez ready, but it was probably better to be totally clear in a situation like this... Especially considering she lacked actually rez abilities...

She was simultaneously dancing on her toes in the sand (because she was barefoot and it was ******** hot) as she was fighting. As well as not wanting centipedes touching her goddamn feet.
"Giddoff!" Cee's right whip lashed one away from her, cracking it's carapace but not quite killing it.

A quick strike and the first centipede nearly exploded. But it exploded on her splattering her with it's gross body and winging her with it's remains. It actually hurt quite a bit.
The other pair came together and Cee's whips lashed in a cross in front of her, decimating another that also gave her damage, and leaving the last on it.. literal last legs.
