Aylin continued to smiled as she listened to Alice's sage council. The pixie had to remind herself that even though she was technically one of the older members of the BFAA there were still those, despite their youth, who were far wiser in the ways of the world. The soft gentle breeze in the air blew hard enough to cause the hem of her dress and the front of her cape to move gently. And as the rising sun danced off the deep pink gem in the golden tiara adorned upon her forehead and made her golden breastplate sparkle, Aylin considered each and every word spoken by the younger woman. Yes, the incident at four was something scary and yes not knowing if she could control the massive amount of magic from her grandmother's broach was also scary but it should not be the reason for keeping the girls untrained. As every teacher Aylin had since she was nine, including her own grandmother, tried to explain the first step in learning magic is to not fear magic.

Aylin knew that she would have to take things slowly with girls. Some were ready for the next step, learning how to use and control their newly found abilities in defense and protection of those unable to defend themselves. Others, however, needed to be shown things from the very beginning. Aylin was going to have to use her grandmother's broach more as she guided the girls down a path of understanding and righteousness. She was determined to be not only a mentor to these girls but also their voice when dealing with people like the Bartobs. For Aylin was the common glue that held the two groups together.

"I would never want to blind them to all of this at all Alice. That has never been my intention. I just wish it was quite a few years later in their lives when this happened. I just feel they might not want to learn what is needed because they are so young and so unsure of themselves. I promised Prim yesterday I would help her figure all of this out. She has a very good and noble heart and with a little guidance she can become something amazing. I'd like the chance to do that for these other girls as well," Aylin responded as she began unconsciously fingering her ring once more.

Kai too had taken in both Alice's words and gentle touch. Being silent for so long Kai reverted back to feline instinct letting out yet another purr as Alice began stroking the back of his head. He too had to admit Alice was right. The mere fact that they simply carried the aura around them was one thing. It was being able to use that magic to become what Aylin and Prim were that was the main concern. "We'll help them find that spark which causes the first all important transformation. If they do have access to that power then we tech them how to use it," Kai added in.

Aylin felt good about where things were going that morning. She was right to worry about the girls and their safety but she did not need to keep them from learning what they needed because of that concern. Instead, she was going to teach the girls from the ground up how to respect, understand, and eventually use magic. And she was also right about Chef sleeping later than usual.

"As I said earlier, I would eventually like to talk to Chef but it's not urgent and can wait," Aylin added in as her stomach all of a sudden made a very loud and very audible grumble causing her eyes to open wide and a blush to her cheeks, "Oh dear. It looks like it's time to see what can be done about securing breakfast. Maybe we'll run into him again."

With a soft chuckle and the blush and smile still upon her face Aylin took hold of Alice's hand and drew her off the railing of the gazebo to signal she was in need of the morning meal. "Shall we?"

"Bentos...oh lunch boxes. Is anyone going to leave here today, though?" Charm quickly glossed over that. She didn't want people to leave, not un-informed and not even really knowing who any of them were yet.

"Um, lots of yummy things for breakfast though. We have to have pancakes, of course. Eggs sound good and maybe ham or bacon. Oh and milk and juice and things to drink. There are a lot of people who are going to wake up hungry, I'm sure! What do you usually like to eat for breakfast, Prim?" Charm looked at Caelen who was helping as well.

The conversation felt so terribly normal it made Charm nervous. She hadn't had this kind of conversing in a while, since she had to leave her school. She figured being around school girls like Prim was making her remember, though. Plus it was the very energy of this place, this Manor, there was something really special about it that made her light-attuned magical senses know it was a peaceful, safe place, and relaxed her like little else in the world.

She also had realized this morning that her usual magical load, which was quite a bit on it's own, now included Hydro's staff. And if Charm wasn't mistaken, and she wasn't, the staff was an item that was a magical pocket on its own. Which meant some possible clues might be contained within it as to what might had brought Hydro to Barton Town, and to her eventual tango with the dark pillar. She doubted Caelen would know anything about a young woman's possessions, but certainly felt as though he could be trusted with further secrets that Charm was dreading to face; and knew would be coming out if these people hoped to survived against the strange entity that had awoken beneath Barton.

She is where? Charm remembered the conversation with her master clearly. She cannot be there, there is too much of a risk of that....of that danger occurring again. Go get her out of Barton, NOW.

"While you guys are getting everything out, I need to take care of something right quick." Charm flew over to the table and drew out the Angelic Staff she had picked up in the square the day before. The item had nearly been depleted of it's energy, so Charm was a little wary of using it, but some of it's light magic had returned in the night, so she gave opening the magical pocket a shot.

How about we go for a flight and see what we can ? hows that sound Lorelei. Smiling and stretching his wings Leif gathered up his things before kneeling down a bit by Lorelei with a bit of a playful grin as the dawn light shone. The air had a feel of warmth to it for once as Leif took skyward for a moment to test the sky before returning back down to the ground in a floating manner. The air here in barton was so warm kind of like a summer day compared to the hard rain from yesterday.

Before Prim had gotten to respond to Charm, the little imp had already left. She smiled back politely to Caelen. She was not as embarrassed now that he had his shirt on. "What do you usually eat for breakfast, Caelen? I usually eat toast and have some juice." She was curious if demons even ate, though Cae seemed to have human enough tendencies that he would. Prim also wondered if anyone else was up this early. A yawn slipped from her lips, she was still tired. Somehow she had gotten herself caught up in cooking; just from wanting water, to walking in on Cae, and Charm coming in after hearing her squeal. Prim flipped the egg in her pan. She was subconsciously making an omelet while thinking. She wondered if Aylin was even up yet, she wanted to thank her for getting her to safety the other day, and for cooking dinner. She hoped she'd find time to meet everyone today, since there were a few she had missed last night. She hoped she'd see Cree again as well, since she said she'd be around. Prim finished her omelet and set it on a plate. The other pan was filled with pancake batter which was now starting to burn due to Prim's wandering thoughts. "Whaa..it's ruined. I'm sorry.." She exclaimed, holding the remnants of burnt pancake with a pitiful frown. Her one small omelet couldn't make up for the rest of the pancake batter.

--------

Lorelei nodded gently to Leif. She blushed slightly to his grin and climbed on to his back. "I'm fine with that if you are. After all, you are the one giving me the ride. I hope I'm not too heavy for you. Destination unknown, set for adventure, Cap'n." She giggled lightly. Lorelei was ready, the thrill of flight gave her goosebumps. She had flown many times by herself, but had never been the passenger. This was treat for her, and she was going to enjoy every minute of it. The sun's rays gave her hope in her heart, that today might be better than the days previous.

With a joyful care and careful deliberation Leif slowly soared skyward making a gentle banking turns over the forest to get a sense of direction before seeing Barton. Smiling and giving a soft laugh Leif skirted the gates well above the walls with a slowness of just taking in the sights like a tourist as most of the streets and iconic landmarks of town stood out to the young man. So much time and effort sunk in as he looked slowly from left to right before paying attention to his flight. It wants really as exhausting as leif had expected with his limited flight time but it certainly wasn't going to be an all day thing either that he just couldn't do. Though curiously off in the distance in town Leif spotted an old manor and asked curiously. Lorelei? do you know anything about a manor in town, like who lives in it? he asked curiously before resuming in silence and checking up on Oscar whom was having a little field day flying with the wind in his quills and a small bit of food in both paws.

While the angel imp briefly excused herself to tend to some important task that she alone understood, Prim and Caelen were left to see to the breakfast preparations. Caelen glanced over at Prim as she worked near the stove, carefully tending an omelette. The young girl's sudden question about food made Caelen pause. The other members of BFAA were perfectly aware of his dietary needs, but he had to wonder just how much the sheltered little girl just feet away from him was ready to know. He was hesitant to go into detail, but then reminded himself that she was some sort of warrior that would have to face the gruesome realities of the world sooner or later. Clearing his throat a bit nervously, Cae answered Prim's question.

This may be a bit difficult for you to stomach, but I believe you do deserve to know the truth as the members of this manor know it. Demons do not require human food in order to sustain ourselves, however we can eat it. It's mostly an indulgence. In truth, the thing that sustains our energy and abilities is something you cannot see or touch, but it resides inside every living creature. This thing is the soul. Demons feed on souls. That is why they make contracts with people. The demon will serve until their master's wishes have been fulfilled. Then the demon devours its master's soul. This is where I differ from the rest of my kind. I have never consumed a person's soul. It is tantamount to murder as far as I am concerned. Yet the fact remains that I must have sustenance or I leave myself vulnerable. I have found a sort of loophole. There is a certain degree of Soul Essence in a person's blood. While it is nowhere near as satisfying to the palate, it does provide the necessary energy to sustain my abilities. I hope in telling you this that I have not put you off from coming here ever again. Believe me, I will never hurt you or anyone here.

Oddly enough, making that one admission took a certain weight off Caelen's shoulders. It was liberating to be open and frank about his existence. A small smile curved the butler's lips as he relished in the euphoria of truth. Then Prim burned a pancake. The poor girl apologizing for messing up one little pancake was so heartwarming that Caelen couldn't help but to give Prim a small hug as he helped her start over.

Heh, it's alright. One pancake lost won't mean the end of the world. Cooking is something that takes patience and close attention. Admittedly, I have a bit of an unfair advantage over you humans in this department because of my heightened senses. I can smell when something is just right or about to burn. Just make sure to maintain your attention on what is in the pan.

Giving Prim an encouraging smile, Caelen got back to the egg crepes he was about to create. Oats went into the industrial blender and then pulsed to a fine powder. Next eggs, vanilla extract, sugar, and milk went into the blender with the ground oats to be all nicely mixed. That stage completed, Caelen set a nice non-stick pan on a stove burner and poured 1/4 of a cup of the egg mixture into the pan. It was a very thin layer, which was just right for making egg crepes. Once the edges began to look dry, Cae flipped the crepe over to finish cooking on the other side. Once cooked, he plated the crepe and repeated the process until the last of the egg mixture had been used and the plate was piled high with crepes just waiting to be filled with a fresh fruit and yogurt mixture.

Ayel

Ayel hadn't been sleeping inside her crystalline perch, neither had she been truly "awake." But, as the dragon entered into the cave, it's chirping filling the expanse with hollow echoes, she was roused out of her state. Her eyes opened, glowing purple like the crystals around her. The small dragon stopped in front of her the map and rose in it's mouth. The crystals parted from around her with a crackling and crunching sound. She reached out taking the map without saying a word. She knew by the energy still coming from the rose who had sent this invitation. The crystals receded from her completely and she stepped out onto the floor, her eyes still aglow. She glanced at the dragon which lowered it's head a bit and then she began walking toward the entrance.

Sardis

As the master was awakening, Sardis was feeling the enticing embrace of sleep drawing him closer and closer. He'd been fluttering around outside the manner for some time and the only thing he'd seen of interest was a figure or two passing by the occasional window. No one he knew. "This is stupid." He groaned finally seeking shelter from the rains in a bush. He found and opening and shook the water off of himself gazing around. There were a couple drips to his right, but all-in-all, the bush would keep him nice and dry. "What's the big deal with Sensei's anyway?" He asked to himself, still in a complaining mood.

He used his wings to push open a space in the leaves and twigs to see the building and yawned drowsily. "They ain't doin' anything!" He remarked with a huff, letting his eyes droop. "This is stupid..." He repeated without the conviction of his previous statement. The manor was becoming blurry, now. Before long, the little imp was snoring away, fast asleep and uninterested in anything else but his restful slumber.

Ayel

Ayel had sent the dragon ahead of her. She had no idea what the girl was up to and did not want to find herself the victim of some sort of ambush. The dragon made several sweeps of the sky above the area where the map had indicated the meeting was supposed to take place. Ayel was familiar enough with Barton to recognize the area so she was going over possible sites where one could stage a successful sneak attack. However, before she knew it, she was near enough to the site that she felt the need to use the small necklace she brought with her. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small shard of the purple crystal on a gold chain and put it over her head. Ayel admired the gem and its pale color a moment. With this, I can approach without my energy being detected she thought. Just then a chirp caught her attention. The dragon swooped down low and made a close pass over a building.

The beast did not have a gem to conceal its energy. This creature was made of the mist and the girl would surely recognize it immediately. The dragon flapped over to a nice place to land and put itself down looking at where DV was. It chirped softly tilting it's head in short, jerking, motions. All Ayel had to do was follow the dragon and follow it she did. She looked up at the building and began walking toward it. She was in her casual clothing but wasn't sure yet if she was ready to let this girl see her. As she reached the door the mist began forming around her. As she entered inside, she was completely shrouded as in the square. This time, the mist was lazily rotating around her person, the crystal she wore, covering it's power. There was no need to draw attention from anyone outside.

Terra tossed and turned in an uneasy sleep, trapped in yet another unusual dream. But this dream was nothing like the same dream that has haunted her for the past month, ever since she discovered the pendant she now always wears around her neck. There was no shroud of darkness, no vast sea of lava, and no fading starlight. In fact, the only thing she could see was a blue-haired girl with wind and water swirling around her. The air around them was frigid, and the girl had a rather cold expression on her face. Soon, the girl and everything else was gone as Terra's dream ended. The rest of her sleep continued fairly uninterrupted, and she awoke not long after.

The teen looked around, initially confused by the strange decor of her room. The strange dream she had only added to her confusion as she groggily got up from her bed. "That girl..." Terra thought as she finally realized where she was. "Who is she? She looks familiar, but I dunno why." Terra stretched her arms out and approached the nightstand. One quick glance at the clock on the stand made her groan upon noting the time of day. It was far too early, but she couldn't go back to sleep. "Oh well... I have to go to school anyway. I think."

Whether or not Barton High School would be closed, Terra decided to err on the side of caution and change into a fresh set of clothes. She opened up a dresser and found a change of clothes that must have been placed there overnight, as they were a perfect fit for her frame and came in her favorite colors. It was just too much of a coincidence, she thought. During the process of changing, Terra noticed an unusual discoloration on her right arm. As she went to look at it in the mirror, she found unusual discolorations all over both of her arms. What's more is the marks had almost the same orange color as her pendant when it didn't glow. Terra was completely dumbfounded. Those marks certainly weren't there yesterday morning. So where did they come from? It was just another question she had no answer to.

Shrugging it off, Terra finished putting on the rest of her clothes, which thankfully included a brown jacket that she could use to cover the marks on her arm. The rest of the outfit matched quite nicely, and it certainly looked better than the sailor-styled outfit that her caretaker provided for her to wear on her first day of school. It could even pass off as a uniform, of sorts, though it was on the casual side. The last thing Terra did, as usual, was put on her topaz necklace. It was glowing very faintly, just like the day before when the dark pillar first emerged, but she paid no attention to it.

Terra opened the door to her room, ready to head out, before she realized she forgot her cell phone and her bag. While she didn't need her bag if she was just going to be wandering around the Manor, she didn't know yet whether or not she still had school. One quick glance of her phone revealed there were no messages from the school yet. Either way, she thought it would be best to pick up her bag just in case she needed to make a hasty exit for school. As Terra stepped out of her room again, she noticed one of the girls from last night starting down the hallway.

"Hey, wait up!" Terra called out as she gave chase to the girl. "Uh... Seren, right? My name's Terra. Do you go to Barton High, by any chance? You look like a student there..." Terra greatly hoped Seren went to Barton High. She didn't want to deal with the awkwardness and embarrassment of having misjudged someone. And she needed to know whether or not the school was going to be open today.

Lorelei closed her eyes, feeling the freedom of flying without care. It was certainly much better than walking. The aerial view also made it easier for her to see her surroundings and anything suspicious happening in Barton. Lorelei turned to see the manor that Leif had pointed out. She wondered if she'd encountered it before. It did look familiar, but she was unsure who was living there. "I'm sorry, I'm not sure. Though, we can go see if you'd like? The only thing I know about that manor is that it is very important to the citizens of Barton. Unfortunately, being from Aekea, I don't always get the whole history of the other towns." Lorelei answered, watching Oscar, making sure he wouldn't fly off.

Prim was amazed by Caelen's answer. She would have never thought that he'd found a sort of loophole to get his nourishment. She honestly didn't know what to expect. He wasn't like the demons she read about in her mythology books, he was somehow more like a vampire. She wondered whose blood he was using though. Prim wasn't afraid of Caelen's eating habits, they didn't bother her. For her, it was something 'cool'. Prim was quirky, and found strange things of interest. However the task at hand wasn't nearly finished. She had just burned a pancake and felt guilty for doing so, but then she was comforted by Caelen soon after. Prim gladly welcomed the hug, but still was slightly shy about it. She returned the smile to Caelen's forgiveness. "Hehe. Yeah, you're right. I needa learn from my mistakes or I'll never get better. That's what my mom used to say." Prim now paid closer attention to the food she was making, while glancing every now and then to see what Cae was preparing. "Those look delicious." Admittedly, the crepes almost looked too good to eat. "I remember when I was little I went to a french bakery with my parents, and we got some fresh fruit crepes. I can still taste em. I bet yours are even better though." Prim's focus went back to her cooking. She wondered when charm would be back, or if she and Cae would be stuck making the whole breakfast.

This is nice, Alice thought. Talking to one of her most trusted friends with a display of great relaxation had eventually calmed what was left of Alice's tension from last night. She carefully listened to Aylin as she spoke, nodding in agreement when the pixie mentioned that the girls might feel doubtful of the abilities they just discovered. Understanding in complete empathy, Alice simply said, Of course. But, their age would not matter as long as they understand would they not? The questions kept piling as Alice kept herself quiet, now becoming a little worried herself as if Aylin's previous doubts were transferred into her own mind. She could chuckle at the irony, but instead watched the pixie fiddle with the ring she wore on her left hand. Alice had to remind herself that Aylin had the same power like those girls. While those powers were different in each person who possessed it, the pixie had a little more burden than normal because she wasn't just a part of the group of newly discovered magical girls but a BFAA member tasked to guide them.

Since Alice didn't know the specifics of the powers themselves, she found what Kai had said very interesting. A transformation to activate the hidden power, she thought, didn't Aylin mention that it was a very strong type of magic? Alice finally got it. Her green eyes looked up from their focus on the floor to Aylin's rosy pink eyes, a shine flashing over her eyes that made it seem like it was glinting in the sunlight. If it was so powerful that it needed a lock to keep it controlled, then it made more sense that these girls needed the training. Alice nodded in agreement to Kai's statement, light copper chestnut hair bouncing with the action.

Alice paused as she heard a very loud and weird-sounding growl. Wondering what it was, she looked at Aylin who had a blush across her cheeks and then got the message. The brunette chuckled at the similarity of the current situation to last night's, letting the pixie to pull her off the railing but remaining in her spot. Please, go ahead. Caelen should be already awake and he'll be in the kitchen. I'll meet you there, she said with a tiny smile, nudging the other's arm towards the manor. Someone kinda has to wake up the big baby we call our leader anyway. With a wave, she stood to watch the two leave before taking her exit in a different direction. Entering through the same door that connected the small garden to a branch off of the hallway leading to the kitchen, Alice walked towards the main staircase without meeting anybody familiar. An idea popped into her head. A bucket full of ice seemed like the perfect way to wake Shawn from his tired sleep, but it would be too merciless. Instead, Alice knocked on the door thrice like she usually does and paused before opening the door and quietly slipping in the room. It was a mess. Alice cringed as she avoided stepping on the papers strewn about on the floor. In reality, the room really was actually clean except for the papers lying on the carpet, but Alice's habit of cleanliness had always been rather ridiculous to anyone who truly knew her.

Alice opened the window's curtains and the blinds halfway through before sitting next to the giant lump hidden inside the blankets of Shawn's bed. She smiled in a momentary pause before placing her hands atop of the covers and started to tickle the person under it.

DV sat on the statue, waiting for any signs of anyone. A security guard, likely worked overtime, snoozed in a chair. She didn't have any reason to scare the rent-a-cop, so she let him sleep. After all, she really preferred to utilize what would happen much more effectively.
Speaking of effectiveness, she wondered if the blackrose had met it's intended mark. Then she spotted the ethereal creature floating into the building, dragon-like in shape but with a mist-like body. Naturally this must belong to the mist-warrior that she nearly had an alteraction with the night before. Still, she didn't see the mist-warrior.

"Is your owner the one I set the rose?" DV found her voice surprisingly soft toward the mist-dragon, she even put her hand out, hoping this dragon wasn't inclined to use that burning type of mist that nearly had stole her energy the night before. She wondered why she immediately found fondness for the small dragon, and her curiosity led to her watching the slender form approach, but not come close enough to touch.

"I suppose we haven't been acquainted yet, that's fine." She said in response to the distance the mist-dragon held. "But I think I have met your owner. Though then, I haven't been properly acquainted with her yet either. Is she coming, little one? I'd certainly like to see her. Though beings of the night and negative force aren't too keen to let themselves be known, are they? She is an unusual one, for approaching me last night." DV kept talking to the dragon, not sure if this unique being was infact, filling the job of a crystal ball so to speak. If it's owner could see this conversation, she wanted to be seen as not weak but docile enough that there was no fight to be had.

"See, little one, I'm sorry I don't know your name nor your master's, I know what's coming. This place, this city, will soon be gone, and reclaimed by negative energy. Most persons in this town, whether or not they contain a lot of that type of energy, contain a positive energy. They are troublesome because if cluttered, their collective is ....an obstacle. They are also in great peril here, because they cannot survive the negative energy now climbing out of the deep ground, their positive energy cannot hold it back any longer. So little one, most people with the positive energy are in quite a precidament, but they don't know. They don't know the real trouble ahead of them. But you are different, little one, you and especially your master is not like those of the light...those with the positive energy. Your master would not only survive here but possibility thrive. It could be a lonely existence when the people of Barton leave, and this area is naught but a crater of darkness laying the groundwork for the power coming back. But she is the only one I do not have to ask to leave. She has the ability to live on in this place once it is reclaimed."

Charm felt a little bad about leaving Prim to fend to breakfast, but surely Caelen was more than enough help for a moment. She also set Yin, still asleep, on a pillow out of the way.

She wouldn't need long, but she thought the open area of the kitchen, near the table, would be the best place to open a magical pocket. Surely everything would land nicely on the table, just as the staff sat on it now. The staff was still very drained from Hydro's effort to create a shield. Charm tried to be careful, however, it seemed she overestimated the magical recovery of the staff.

A loud 'pop' noise responded to Charm's opening of the magical space within the staff, and rewarded her with a ridiculously long blue scarf to the face, sending her spinning backward as it surprised her mid-air. The scarf crumbled to the floor and Charm once again met with the kitchen wall. Two books landed open, but solidly on the table, one being a untitled journal and the other very clearly etched with Basic Magic.

Hitting the back wall where an array of toys, which wouldn't be clear as to if they were for Yin or just for Hydro's own amusement, included a plastic toy want shaped like a moon and a star shaped play thing as well, and a white dragon plush as well. A bundle of dried lavender and a hairbrush fell softly next to the table.

A very large shimmery pink shirt probably flew the furthest, landing in a small heap on Caelen's head, and due to the smooth material of the garment, fell about his shoulders proudly with it's pink and white bunny pattern.

One item, which was spinning so Charm couldn't make it out, glittered gold in the sunlight just peeking into the kitchen windows, skittered across the floor and landed softly against the boot of the pixie who just entered the room. The room still slightly spinning for Charm, she tried to flutter carefully down to safety, but her dizziness was affecting her vision, and she moaned softly, a plea for help landing.

Hot Caffeinated Cree

Well why don't we take a quick pass or two and land and poke around it a bit ? Leif said politely as he started a casual large bank in view of the manors residents as the young man started a wide circle keeping a stable altitude. it was taking more and more thought on the flight but still remained pleasant though small things here and there around barton caught his attention for seconds at a time. Gliding with the Warm updrafts Leif soared up a bit higher before starting a slow downward spiral trying to give a panoramic view.

Aylin felt the hand pull away as Alice mentioned needing to wake up Chef. The smile that was on her face grew even larger as she forced back a laugh at the idea of Alice trying to get the young man she considered her spiritual twin out of bed in the morning. Good luck with that task, Aylin thought with a silent chuckle, I don't envy you one bit. Aylin could tell by the young woman's actions that what both she and Kai had told her left Alice with a lot to consider about the girls now staying with them. It was heavy stuff to think about so early in the morning but Aylin knew Alice was taking everything in stride considering what had happened to her while she was gone from Barton.

"I know he's been awake for some time and I don't think he'll be alone in that kitchen so that should help keep the air in the room light," Aylin remarked to Alice indicating she could feel both Caelen and the familiar magic of her newly acquired charge.

Watching the young woman she called friend walk towards the manor house Aylin let out another cleansing breath as she gave Kai's head a rub. Kai rubbed back against Aylin's hand letting three hundred plus years of being a cat get the better of him. Feeling better about where the day was headed and the task ahead of her Aylin turned and made her way towards the kitchen through the back of the manor house. She knew she would have to face Caelen again and hoped a night's rest had done him as much good as it had done for her. The combination of a very long day, missing lunch, confusion over recent issues in town, the questions about her grandmother's broach, and general frustration had affected Aylin's mood the day before badly. The meditation that morning had shown her that she needed to rectify a lot of mistakes made the night before. For Prim's sake Aylin had to make things better between them.

"Are you going to be okay with seeing him again after last night," Kai wondered concerned for Aylin's emotional well-being.

"I should be fine with seeing Caelen again. The spirits and mother Gaia have given me the guidance and strength to do what is right," Aylin replied as she heard happy sounds coming from the kitchen.

The smile Aylin had on her face that morning just would not leave as she thought about who was in the kitchen. It was comforting to think Prim was not only doing her best to fit in but also feeling at ease around the regular residents of the manor. Aylin knew as long as she was in Prim's company things would be far better between her and Caelen. With a satisfied sigh and a quick scratch behind Kai's right ear Ayln prepared to enter the kitchen.

The moment Aylin's foot touched the threshold of the kitchen door a loud yet rather muffled thump rang out from somewhere in the kitchen's vicinity. Aylin paid no mind to the noise figuring it was an item being accidentally knocked off a pantry shelf. However, that notion was put out of her mind very quickly when something clacked against the toe of her white heels. Looking down towards the floor Aylin had thought she accidentally dropped the Gaia's Token she was never without as she was her grandmother's broach. However, as she reached up towards the place where she kept it under her cape Aylin felt that the green and gold broach was still firmly in place. Picking up the stray Gaia's Token Aylin blinked in confusion wondering just who within the manor house had been called by Gaia herself to care for the world in her name.

"That's odd, I thought I knew of all those called to care for this world in Gaia's name," Aylin thought aloud as she walked into the kitchen.

"Guess we have a bit of a mystery on our hands," Kai added in with a slight chuckle.

As the pair entered the kitchen, Kai still seated upon Aylin's shoulders, Aylin saw Prim and Caelen busy at work making breakfast. Her earlier deductions and feelings were right. Caelen was indeed awake and both he and Prim were preparing breakfast and while Caelen was flying through making his dishes Prim took things at a slower pace. Prim's cooking was more focused on the simple things she was making while Caelen looked to be creating more complex breakfast dishes. Yet there was something hilariously off about the entire scene, the shimmering pink shirt resting upon Caelen's shoulders.

"I knew you would be here in the kitchen the moment I felt your energy connect with the world. I just didn't think you were the type to go around wearing a girl's shimmery pink bunny shirt," Aylin commented announcing her presence in the kitchen as she tried hard to keep from laughing, and failing, at the state the butler was in.

Chef was hardly ever one to sleep in. In fact, it was almost impossible for him to do so. Even on days when he stayed up into the early morning hours, he almost always woke up just as the sun rose. But yesterday's events completely wore the young man out, so who could blame him for taking an extra hour or two of sleep? Well as far as some people were concerned, he had enough sleep. One such person made her way into Chef's room and let some light into the room through the window. The normally light sleeper Chef remained motionless in his bed, undisturbed. After opening the blinds and curtains, the woman then sat down on the bed next to the poor, unsuspecting man in the middle of a rather nice dream. What the woman did next was something only one person would be so devious to do to poor Chef.

"AAAAAHHH! A-ALICE?! STOP! NOOO!" shouted Chef, knowing all too well just who it was that he was at the mercy of. This certainly wasn't the first time Alice did something like this. Chef had been at the back end of several rude awakenings at the hands of his twin. One would think he would have known better and kept his door locked after the first few incidents, but that was not the case. Poor Chef was laughing uncontrollably as he tried to wriggle free of Alice's evil clutches. He grabbed the pillow that he was lying peacefully on just moments ago and swung it at Alice repeatedly before throwing it at her head. Chef took that opportunity to get up off of his bed and distance himself from his evil "twin" and grabbed the other pillow on his bed as a form of defense.

"Evil," Chef muttered, looking at Alice with a disgruntled expression. "Well... I'm awake now. What do you want?" he grumbled.
