Kiin gathered a bit more ammunition and stuffed them into any available pockets he had, loading his gun as he eyed the bats in the distance. It felt like all their fluttering was somehow issuing some kind of a challenge to him, and he narrowed his eyes.
...yeah, this place wasn't doing his psyche any favors. He aimed carefully and took the first tentative shot after his reload, a small smirk spreading itself on his face as he watched the dart hit its mark and send a bat down to the ground. Kiin shot a second one without as much preparation and narrowed his eyes at the miss.
So he reloaded as necessary and repositioned the gun.

The next two shots were both misses, eliciting a rather loud and unbecoming curse from the teen's lips before he pursed his lips and recomposed himself. He wasn't exactly the sort to lose his cool over something so trivial.. but how could he miss two shots in a row?! Unthinkable! Until it happened, of course, so he took a slow, deep breath and pulled up his gun again.

Another miss, followed by a hit. His confidence was already down to its knees as far as his shooting ability was concerned, but he watched the bat flutter down, a tiny dart likely sticking out of whatever body part he'd managed to hit, and took another deep breath. He needed to stay calm, he thought, in order to get as many of these damned bats as possible.
"Jack.." he muttered before starting to take aim. Again.

He almost whooped for joy when the next two darts sunk into their targets without a fail, but Kiin controlled it. Instead, his lips curled into the faintest of smiles as he reloaded his gun and poised to shoot a few more bats into a nice, peaceful slumber.

Another two hits. His confidence was building again, but he simply watched his targets flutter to the ground before replacing his gun. He knew he had a few more left, though the exact count was still unknown to him. Thirteen? Fifteen? ...he was sure he'd at least get some kind of notice when he finished with this part of the quest, so he figured it was probably alright to keep going until he got suck a message.
Assuming he was going to get one in the first place.

The gun wasn't quite as heavy as it had been at first when he took hold of it, and after yet another two successful hits Kiin had gotten quite comfortable with the weapon. He was aware of the chances that he'd pull it from his hat, but... well, a hatter could hope.
He reloaded and poised to shoot again, a sliver of him hoping to maximize this time he had to wield the weapon, albeit not in the same capacity as a normal weapon.

His next shot was a miss. Kiin let a curse fly before taking the next one in quick succession, this time getting a hit. He narrowed his eyes though, and simply aimed for his next target. No time to sit back and analyze what he'd done wrong with the shot before last, and honestly? He had no idea what it meant to be a "good shot" in the first place.
He was just aiming and shooting, as instructed by the Batty Mad Hatter.

Two more shots was what it took for his pocket card to ding! and the Batty Mad Hatter to come bounding back toward him, batty smile and all. Much to Kiin's dismay he took the gun back in exchange for a treasure chest, and while the hatter would have much rather kept the gun.. well, he'd take quest spoils as a small consolation prize all the same.
Hey, at least he got something for his trouble.
