Adrian winked as he walked alongside her towards the front door of the house. "Don't worry too much... I have something that will definitely distract him," he said quietly, half teasing her as roughly eight months before he'd discovered something he knew would very much interest Lillian's father roughly fifteen miles away from where he lived, so it was nowhere near the city nor where he and Ivory were staying. He walked in a few feet ahead of her and noticed her father at the table. "Excuse me, but I would like to tell you something I think would very much interest you outside the city, roughly eighteen to twenty miles," he said, well aware it would catch the man's interest.

Lillian tried her best to keep the kitten calm as she made her way into the house and headed for her room. 'I hope that you can distract him enough. I wouldn't want him to take this little angel and throw it out if he caught me with it.' she said to Adrian, via thought. She watched as Adrian went towards the kitchen and watched as far as she could before he disappeared into the kitchen. "All right little one, please don't try to get away and I hope that you like dogs, due to the fact that I have a rather big one that sleeps in my room a lot." She said to the kitten as she made her way to her room. She was greeted by an overly excited Roxy, who immediately smelled that cat and sat down, her head tilting to one side.
In the kitchen Mr. Stacey was finishing up his dinner as he heard Adrian speaking to him and he looked over saying, "Sit down. If you think that what you have to say might interest me then go on and tell me. I'm truthfully feeling a lot better now for some reason. I just hate that it took me realizing how much I was hurting Lillian by trying to control her to see that I was doing wrong..." His voice was surprisingly calm and full of regret compared to how it had been all the other times that he'd spoken to both Lillian and Adrian; although since the two vampires had been killed they were no longer manipulating his mind and making him cold and uncaring towards those he loved. Across the kitchen Rosaline was listening in on the conversation and was surprised to hear the definite change in her husband's tone and attitude.

Adrian cocked an eyebrow. "I think the right phrase would be more 'show and tell', as I actually found it by accident, though I think that it would be heavily helpful," he said with a faint smile as he pulled out a small leather pouch roughly half the size of his fist and set it on the table next to the man. "Trust me, I've seen what can happen, and I know it wasn't your fault. We all have scars, trust me. Sometimes the best balms are the ones that stick by your side," he said, glancing towards Rosaline as he spoke.

Walking to her bed, Lillian set the kitten down on the bed and looked to Roxy. The husky was only looking curiously at the little orange tabby as she moved to the bed, sniffing the little ball of fur. Although that did not turn out well as the kitten hissed at Roxy. Lillian was terrified that Roxy was going to attack the kitten, yet what she saw happen next surprised her greatly; Roxy yelped, ducked her head down and her tail went right between her legs in submission to the hissing kitten that was now puffing out his broad little chest in a proud sort of way. "Well I'll be... Though that wasn't a nice thing to do little one." she said, rubbing the kitten's head and trying to keep from laughing at how Roxy was afraid of the little tom cat. "Now you two be nice to each other," she said before turning to the tom saying, "And be nice to Roxy little one. No more scratching, hissing or growling at her, please." The little kitten gave an innocent look to Lillian before she left, though the look that he gave Roxy could have been seen as an almost devilish smirk, as if he was plotting ways to harass and torture the timid husky.
Mr. Stacey looked over at the dinner and he reached for an extra plate, offering it to Adrian as he listened to the boy speaking. "You want some? And I apologize for interrupting you." he said. He, for once in a long time, waited for Adrian to be completely finished before giving a reply to the boy. "If you want to show me what you found then you can, though not until you eat and tomorrow would probably be best to go anywhere, since it is dark out now. You can rest up in the room that Lillian showed you and once you feel ready you can show it to me. And you don't need to show it to me tomorrow if you don't want to. Just whenever you feel that it'd be a good time." he said as he looked over at his wife and winked at her, causing her to give him a weird look, though she smiled back after a moment; she was still a bit shocked to see her husband's attitude changing so suddenly, yet she could tell that it was definitely a good thing.

Adrian cocked an eyebrow, tilting his head towards the pouch. "Then open that while I eat," he said with a chuckle as he shrugged, knowing it would really surprise the man that the pouch was filled with gold dust and several gold nuggets.

Lillian made her way into the kitchen, not sure if she wanted to get near her father after their argument, yet she was called to the table by her mother. She could see her father seemed to be nicer, though she thought it only a charade and that he'd end up saying or doing something that wasn't nice. Although she heard her father talking to Adrian in the nicest way and she thought that this couldn't be her father. "I'll look at it then." he said passing some food to his daughter before he grabbed the pouch and opened it; his eyes grew wide as he saw the contents of the pouch. "You say that you found this and you were going to show me where you found it? How much were you planning on sharing with me? I know you're probably going to want a part of this for yourself, right?" he said, still looking at the gold dust and nuggets in the pouch.

Adrian tilted his head as if thinking before he casually nodded. "I was thinking ten percent for myself and the rest for you and your family," he said almost immediately, a faint smile flickering at the corners of his mouth. He knew it would surprise the man that someone would be so generous with something that could be so lucrative.

Lillian looked at the pouch and what was in it as she went to stand over her father's shoulder and she made a soft squeaking noise before speaking. "Wow... That's... Amazing..." she was thinking of how much her father might start liking Adrian and she wondered if this might get her father softened up to the fact that she wanted Adrian to stay there for a while; although she knew that Adrian probably would want to head back to his cavern, seeing as that was all he'd known for so long. "You're really willing to give me and my family that much of it?" Mr. Stacey asked, his shock very clearly ringing in his voice. He looked over his shoulder at his daughter and then to his wife and spoke to Adrian, "If you'd like you can stay here for a while, though I know you'll probably want to get home before too long." He wasn't sure that the boy would accept the invitation, though he hoped that he would. Lillian, who was still over her father's shoulder was looking to Adrian in a pleading sort of way, hoping he'd like to stay for a while, so they could get to know each other better and see how much they have in common with one another.

Adrian took a deep breath as he tried the chicken, mildly impressed by the explosion of flavor on his tongue. Yeah, though to be honest, my 'home' isn't that impressive," he said with a faint smile. He wasn't going to tell them he lived in a cavern with an attached hot spring as well as a smaller caldera-pond that was attached to a surprisingly impressive natural garden.

Looking at her father and then to Adrian, Lillian walked to the seat right beside Adrian and sat down. She smiled at her father for the first time in a long time and really meant it. She looked to Adrian as she heard him speaking and she sighed. "I can bet that it is really nice, though you're just being modest about it." she said as she moved her seat closer to Adrian's. "Lillian sounds like she's making a very good point. I know that you may not have something like this, though I had to work hard to get this for my family. I know that I inhereted a chunk of money when my father died, yet that wasn't enough to get me where I am today." Mr. Stacey said as he looked from Adrian to his daughter who was sitting right next to the boy. 'Those two can't have known each other for long at all, yet they seem to act like they've known each other forever... I haven't seen Lillian so close to anyone before and I haven't ever met a boy that was so kind to my little girl before... Perhaps I was to hard on her about not dating or even being friends with guys until she moved out...' he thought to himself as he took another small piece of chicken and took a bite.

Adrian tilted his head thoughtfully as he shrugged slightly, not minding the idea at all. "Actually, I've never known much in the way of family. I have friends that are as close as family, but not much in the way of blood relatives," he said quietly.

Hearing what Adrian said, Lillian moved her seat right beside his and she hugged him saying, "You know, we could kind of be family to you. I know well never be blood family, though that would make things awkward if we'd be related." She looked to her father and then to Adrian to see what they might say about what she'd said. She knew that she'd only just met Adrian, though she liked him a lot more than any other guy that had tried courting her, mostly due to the fact that they only wanted her as a status symbol in school and that Adrian truly cared about her for who she was. "I know that you may not ever be blood family, though I can see that Lillian likes your company, so you can come and go as you please. Just please don't try playing Romeo and Juliet and come in the middle of the night to her balcony... I have had to chase so many boys away because they kept trying to get her attention that way. I ended up having get restraining orders for some of the boys to keep them from coming around the house and my daughter." he said, hoping that Adrian would understand like so many had not.

Adrian chuckled. "That would be nice, and if I intend to do that, I'll be sure to use a magic carpet," he joked. He knew, and was well aware everyone there knew, that magic carpets were simply fantasy. They say the same things about vampires too, though, he thought with a faint smile. He really didn't intend to drop by in the middle of the night and sweep Lillian away, and was fairly sure it was clear to them he meant it that way.

Listening to her father and Adrian, Lillian smirked at the two of them, while still hugging Adrian. "That sounds like it'd be really fun, though I don't know how well I'd be flying in anything but a plane." she said, laughing softly as she placed her head on Adrian's shoulder. She saw her father raise a brow, though she didn't think anything of it. Mr. Stacey had been about to say something when he heard Lillian speaking. He sighed and put palm over his face as he got up and took his plate over to the sink to have it washed. "Well, you two have a good night sleep because I'm off to bed. I've got work in the morning and can't be late or there will be all kinds of trouble." he said as he headed up to get ready for bed. "Night Daddy. I'll see you in the morning." Lillian said to her father before she looked to Adrian, asking him what he thought of the chicken her mother had made and asked whether or not he'd like to try the brownies that she'd baked.

Adrian saw the smile on Rosaline's face and knew she'd grasped the fact that he was teasing about the magic carpet; he didn't know if magic carpets really existed or where to find one. "Good night," he said to the older man. "The chicken was very impressive, though I'm curious if dessert will match up. If so, you could always go into the restaurant business," he said with a small smile, joking.
