I would like to brainstorm superheroes!
Making a distinction between the two popular trends: one being SUPERS that dress up and fight crime, and usually including leagues of evil and justice. The second would be mutants or people with abilities, who are mostly everyday people who try to fit in with their powers.
I prefer the Supers, personally, because I think of the Incredibles and giggle.
The only thought I had to combining it with zodiac would be that the hosts are Supers who'se powers come from the zodiac and they represent the zodiac... Sort of like Sailor Moon... And Ophiuchus would be the super villian, him and his Snake wink

Supers would be way more fun! We'd dress up in tights and capes and masks! There'd be, like, the supers, the villains, and the mercenaries, who side with which ever team will pay the most. That would be so much fun, if we could make enough rooms.

Hmm... I mean, what would the plot be? And we'd have to be careful not to break copyright. Oh, actually, this might mesh well with classic literature. Supers based on books. Like, the plots of the books are altered to accommodate superheroes.

Like, the plots of the books are altered to accommodate superheroes. we could have like different plaeces eg, the base, the evil lair, the city ect. places that you normally see things happening in superhero movies/comics/books i dont know about a plot though. but yea, copyright could be a problem... at least with names and powers the literature and zodiac seem to be the favourites this year

Well, zodiac does give easy options for rooms and it's easily adaptable to animal or superpower-based themes.
About having the western and eastern ones on different sides, we could either lump Ophiuchus with the westerns or have him be a rejected-standalone-traitor type character.
Hmm... that gives me an idea. Why not have Ophiuchus pretend to be the eastern snake zodiac animal, then show his true colors later on?

One of my other concerns with the Zodiac theme would be the number of rooms. I realize we've had quite a few rooms for a couple years in a row now, but I don't think that we have the same manpower that the AURB used to in order to maintain so many rooms. We'd have to see how many applicants we get for hosts and how many are qualified~
For Supers, we could organize the different "types" of heroes for rooms. Maybe tread a little into classic D&D alignment scales to assist. One room could be the Good League's headquarters, another could be an academy for younger Supers, another could be a kind of dive bar for Supers like Gambit, another could be some kind of underground/sewer gladiator ground for fighter-types and then there would be the villian's mansion... but not his hide out because he definitely wouldn't want to be giving away secrets.
Cross-overs could revolve around rivalries (even friendly ones) and the villian could be like the Glass Lady in our last ball where she went from room to room. He'd be up to absolutely no good, of course.
And we can get away with avoiding copyright by making up silly names for the heroes that are so similar that we all know what they are supposed to be, but the name isn't the same so we get away with it. For example, Spider-Bee instead of Spider-Man or Mouse-Man instead of Batman, etc. We could have a lot of fun coming up with ridiculous names.

Another theme that I saw had some merit was someone mentioning a space station of some kind. That could be a neat way to have a lot of rooms.. sort of like the Tower of Sins, but a space station instead!
Just tossing it out there... but maybe it's just because I've been hankering for a good Sci-Fi RP for awhile xD

One zodiac could be minor characters though. Agreed - we could really only do both if we were to decide which zodiac would be the main one. That could be a plot idea too, though. Maybe a conflict between eastern and western zodiacs....
