While Shina had been talking with the new arrivals, others had been busy. The fire was started, and several pots, kettles, and other vessels of water were sitting near the fire. A small, low table had been set up with a cutting board on top. "Thank you, any contribution is helpful. Please, if you could cut up the carrots, they will be much appreciated. I'll set up the large soup pot," Shina told the other trainer. She fished in her saddlebags and pulled out the item ball for the massive kettle and tripod.
Popping the item ball, Shina quickly set up the tripod and hung the empty cauldron, then started emptying the various smaller vessels of water into the pot. The large pot was easily big enough to bathe a small child in, and would hold enough soup for the entire group and then some.

Yane nods at Flint's words, but Rush doesn't seem to be threatening her. Not that that means much. Still.. the Tauros hasn't sown any sign of not wanting to be touched. Which doesn't mean anything either. She gives a sigh and studies Rush. She knows what a Tauros can do, she'd spent enough time watching the ones next door. But, like any other creature, they can surprise us too. She thinks. That though in her head, Yane cautiously moves her hand, brushing her fingers very lightly over the Tauros' fur.
All the while she keeps her eyes on Rush, not a challenge but to study him. And keep an eye for muscles bunching, a clear sign that he'll charge or attack. Even focusing on Rush, Yane can see Flint and the other Tauros trainer from the corners of her eyes. Time enough to pay attention to them later, right now she needed to be aware of the Tauros in front of her. Because Yane knows she's just done a very foolish thing. Or a very brave thing. I guess it all depends on how he reacts. she thinks.

Flint found himself holding his breath, but was surprised to see that Rush was allowing the contact.
Rush snorted at the girl, but did not move away. He was minorly impressed by the girl's courage. not may were brave -or stupid- enough to just walk up to and pet a unfamiliar Pokemon, let alone a Tauros. After a few moments of allowing the contact he snorted again and shook off her hand, deciding he had had enough of that.
Flint eyed his Pokemon and smiled " i'm impressed, he's not usually so tame." he commented.

Letting her hand drop Yane lets out the breath she hadn't been aware of holding, and smiles at Rush. Inclining her head in a slight bow she says "I'm Yane, its nice to meet you." She glances at Flint, including him in her introduction. "I've never had much direct contact with Tauros, but the ranch next door raised them. I'd always volunteer for the chores most likely to take me to that end of the property, just to watch them." Her eyes go a bit misty at the memories. "I've always been drawn to hoofed pokemon, but especially Ponyta and Tauros. My parents raised Ponyta and Rapidash, but never gave in to my requests to add Tauros. So I learned what I could from the neighbor's herd." Yane shakes her head, dispelling the memories.
"Oh yeah, we're supposed to go gather firewood." She looks around and sees the fire. "Well someone did.. but I guess more would never hurt. Which way should we go?" Now probably isn't the best time to tell anyone how easily she gets lost. "I don't.. don't actually know this area very well." She says, her voice turning into a whisper at the end and her cheeks turning a bit pink. After all she had grown up in this general area and made many trips with her family for various reasons. She should know it, and did a little. Mostly what was closer to home, but she'd left weeks ago and had pretty much been wandering aimlessly since. Now when she looks around all Yane sees is unfamiliar ground.

Flint smiled and nodded "oh i see, yeah Tauros are pretty cool Pokemon." he said looking over fondly at his own. Looking back to her he nodded " yhea, im sure well need more before the night ends" he said then turned to the woman he had been conversing with previously "s-sorry, i've gotta go. Talk to ya later" he said and turned back to Yane. he looked around then pointed at a copse of trees not far away " that seems like a good place to start, c'mon" he said and started walking in that direction.

Yane nods and follows Flint, keeping watch over where they are as well as the ground. It wouldn't do to trip and fall on her face. Or get lost so close to camp. "I should have asked earlier, what's your Tauros' name?" She frowns slightly, a thought coming to her. "And your name." They'd come to the trees and instead of standing around to talk Yane starts gathering wood. Though she stays close enough to hear Flint's answer.

"oh sorry, i guess i forgot to introduce myself and my Pokemon," he said smiling sheepishly " My names Flint, my Tauros's name is Rush and this girl here-" he said motioning to the Emolga that was hunkered down on his shoulder "- is Maya" he said. " what's your name, i don't think i caught it" he asked looking at her over his shoulder

Yane's mouth drops open, how had she missed the pokemon on Flint's shoulder? Sure Maya wasn't big, but big enough that she shouldn't have missed seeing her. First things first, though. "I'm Yane. And she's a cutie, what kind of pokemon is she? Can I hold her?" Yane stops herself before adding more questions. Time enough to find out about Maya. And Rush, too.

@Vena:
(sorry she didnt get mentioned before,i got caught up with the rest of the RP but she has been on his shoulder the whole time XD)
Flint smiled "She's an Emolga, and that's up to her. though shes much sweeter than Rush" he said with a light chuckle. Maya stretched, she had been doing so well to avoid notice till Flint had to point her out. She looked over the new girl curiously, she didn't seem like a threat. With a slight shrug she jumped from Flint's shoulder and glided over to the girl and landed a bit clumsily on her shoulder.

Letting out a squeak Yane turns her head, trying to look at Maya. "Such a cutie you are!" She says, leaning her head in to gently nuzzle the small pokemon. "What kinds of treats does she like? I've some I brought as bribes but if I don't use them soon they'll go stale." Remembering her task Yane looks around for more wood. She spots some and goes over to pick it up, being careful not to knock Maya down.
((Its okay, we can say Yane was too focused on Rush and too frazzled by all the unknown people to notice Maya.))

Shikari returned, arms full of yummy fishies. "They're biting like crazy today! Quick, someone take them before I fall down again. I don't want to get them dirty." She laughed. She was having fun. "Oh, some new people?"

Flint smiled as his Pokemon settled herself on the girls shoulder. " she seems to like pretty much everything actually, i haven't seen her turn her nose up at anything shes been given. Granted shes only been with me a couple of days, so i don't know everything about her yet." he said and began looking for wood, picking up as much as he could.
Maya watched the two for a moment before jumping off Yane's shoulder. She sniffed around for a moment then started gathering smaller sticks and twigs, wanting to be helpful.
Meanwhile at the camp, Rush became bored and, while everyone was distracted chatting and setting up camp, slipped away into the trees. He would return later.

"Oh, thank you Shikari!" Shina said, quickly taking the fish from the girl. "Let me just go clean these, and I'll do introductions after!" Shina snagged a bucket that had once held water that was now heating in the giant soup pot and dumped the fish in. With that, Shina headed for the stream again, to gut and de-bone the fish where she could easily return the waste to nature.
((I'm going to have Annabell, the furret that I want to RP capturing, show up here, eager for fish scraps. Follow Shina if you wish, if not, I'll just catch a pogey next post I make.))

"Hey, can I tag along?" Shikari missed hanging out with friends, and finding this new one felt terrific. She followed Shina down to the stream, humming quietly a little along the way.

@Eienna "Of course," Shina told the other girl. The two walked to the stream, where Shina found a large, flat stone right on the bank of the stream. Shina knelt next to the rock, set the bucket down, and pulled out a small, sharp knife. Shina dumped the fish out next to her and rinsed the bucket in the river water. Picking up one of the fish, Shina swished it in the water to clean it off, then began cleaning the fish for the pot, gutting it, removing the tail, head, bones and scales. This wasn't the first time Shina had cleaned a fish like this, and the familiar chore didn't take much time. The first fish was reduced to two fillets, which Shina neatly cubed and dumped in the bucket. As Shina slid the refuse to one side of the stone and grabbed the next fish she heard rustling from a nearby patch of thick grass. "Uuurrrrrrr?" A creamy nose poked out, sniffing, followed by two crimson eyes. "Shikari, there's a Furret in the grass. I think it wants the fish you caught!" Shina told the other girl.
