He glanced up at the cry from the blue-haired witch, sighing as she threw... Something at the creature and darted away. Cruor rolled his eyes at that and shook his head, watching the creature further, judging its movements; there was no way that something like this, given its frenzy, would follow such simple bait as that. He shifted to continue to circle around the creature before glancing back when someone else called out, blinking before frowning; fine, he'd let this majin have his temporary glory, but he wouldn't enjoy it.

He watched the other man's magic work, lifting a brow as he glanced back at Salem, giving him a hard look for a long moment before giving him a nod of thanks; it was more than most majin got out of him. Turning he quickly lunged back at the creature, his blade slicing through the air as he tried to land a blow despite the erratic movements of the one time Reaper. His gaze darted to Sibelius, shifting a little to get closer to the other man, at least within shouting distance.

"We need to start removing the hearts or we're never going to take him down! He's gotten too much power!" he called, hoping any other Reapers would also hear; only those with scythes could really help... And Witch Eaters, but they wanted to save the hearts, not have them consumed.

"Or.... Maybe I could just go off and find those that need help...." Myra muttered a curse after realizing that there was only so much she could do and most of it wasn't going to help. Perhaps she could go around and help those that were hurt...? Figuring that the boy from yesterday and the others could finish the job on their own without her meager help, Myra scurried from the scene and went back to where the group of four used to be. With a frown at the crowd that had gathered at the archway where doors used to be, Myra scanned the surrounding are with her eyes until she spotted someone on the floor.

"Oh no! Miss Witch!" she cried out as she saw the brunette Witch scramble under a table. The poor girl was hurt. Instantly, Myra ducked under and put her hand onto the girl's back. Her thoughts changed from fighting to helping out the girl before her.

If it had been up to her mother, Chanda would have never gone to the ball. Whereas before she had been ecstatic to have her little girl go to her first dance and have her first date, the severity of the witch eater attacks suddenly hit her like a tornado touching down and the corsage that she had been crafting was trashed in favor of fits of paranoia. She swore they were premonitions (despite her lack of proficiency in divination) and, in fact, it worked her up into such a frantic tizzy that she fainted right into Chanda's arms. It took a few hours for her to come to, hence the tiger mononoke's tardiness. The rowdy noises coming from inside had her pause several feet from the door despite the cold and the slinky dress that did nothing to protect her from the icy breeze.

"Erebus," she whispered to her Banshee alchemia who was trying, but to little avail, to warm up his master. "Maiṁ vahām̐ jānē kī icchā nahīṁ...(I don't wish to go in there...)" For a moment Erebus seemed to disagree...and then the screaming began.

As Erebus watched a lucky handful of ball patrons flee in horror, the alchemia had a 180˚ change in attitude and tried to get Chanda to do the same. "No Erebus," she snapped sternly. "It is vain for the coward to flee; death follows close behind." Chanda barged into the ball, taking pause the moment the scene came into focus. "Is that a...monster? A reaper...monster? And...Śikṣaka! (Teacher!)" Pale hands hurriedly contorted into various mudras and, just as she was about to bless the fighters with Divine Wrath, the ridiculous heels that had been given to her gave out from underneath her and she toppled to the floor with a loud curse.

"Forget this," she growled angrily and transformed into a form much more suitable to her. Where there had once been an awkward, dolled up girl, there now stood a large white tiger. With reckless abandon, she bounded over to the site of the fray and took her place at her Divination tutor's (and Savage's) side, teeth bared and bright blue eyes aflame.

Ballroom [[ Orpheus ]]

He didn't even get a chance to reply to Phil before the reaper burst in through the doors. Something in Orpheus' heart broke, when he realized that the one causing so much trouble was a reaper. Those that he had respected, admired, even loved-- and they could be corrupted so? He felt the chaos fragment in him pulse, and his anger, a rare facet of Orpheus' personality, flared up. His eyes glowed fever-bright, and his jaw was set. He loosened the tie around his neck, pulled Philemon to his side so that he could kiss the top of his head, and whispered in his ear, "Looks like we'll have to save that dance."

Orpheus knew that Phil would want to go check on people, to make sure others were okay, to heal where he could; that was the nature of the one he loved. Orpheus himself... well, he was no good in a fight, but he could act as a pied piper. His music could help clear the ballroom of anyone left who couldn't fight. "I'll follow you, and do what I can," he offered Phil.

Ballroom [[ Niamh ]]

She turned to her brother, not entirely sure what was going on around them. Unlike the others, she didn't scream or flinch when the girl died. That was not Niamh's nature. To her, death and life had a tenuous boundary at best. Even though she understood she should be upset.. she simply couldn't bring herself to feel it.

Still, her brother was her first priority. She took Sigmund by the hand, and pulled him to the edges of the room, trying to make her way to a relatively well-built arch. The doors were not a good idea, with so many panicked, were they?...

Ballroom [[ Melenios ]]

Without hesitation, save a brief glance around for his older sister, Melenios headed towards the Monster-Reaper and he searched for whoever he might ask: Cyrus, Miusa, X...? Any of the other educators. He, himself, was hardly social. In a time like this, it became abundantly obvious that he was loved by no one, that he had not made any lasting ties.

All because he withered under his sister's shadow, and she wasn't even there. None of his abilities could be useful, there was no way his Judgement Gate could harm something this powerful without killing him in the process. So he drew out his solar knives, and prepared to protect whatever the Monster drew towards.

Ballroom

From the gentle nudging of Shaden, the timid boy perked up a little, giving an apologetic smile, "I'm sorry. I suppose it's a bit of a habit." Shaden.. Shaden. No Ms. It'd perhaps take awhile, or a few tries to get out of such a ritual, but, he certainly didn't want to offend his hopefully new friend! She was very pleasant to be around, and held a strong, and warm presence. Clearly a woman who knew what she wanted, and who she was.
He gave a little nod to her in response. Yes just about all his teachers who were fond of him had. He couldn't fault them, well aware that they were just trying to advise what would be in his best interest. But he just wasn't good in these sort of arena's. It wasn't that he didn't like socializing, or meeting others, he just... wasn't the type to initiate it. Far too shy for that! His eyes rose back up to meet Shaden's with her admittance, smiling softly in semi-relief. It was nice to know he wasn't the only one... "But you're very nice company to have, M-... Shaden." he replied in his gentle tone. Anyone would love to have her around, he was sure of it!

It was his turn to blush again, laughing quietly in response to her exclamation. Of course he didn't really try to be charming, but he knew that it was polite to give a compliment. It always made others feel good! And it was a fabulous dress, especially on her! "I'm sure it's glad to see the light of day." lightly teased back. His own attire wasn't anything to flaunt, or speak of. Just simple, acceptable, and quaint.

Shaden's inquirey made him blink in surprise, eyes widening a little as well, the heat rising along his honey kissed cheeks. Dance? With all those people? In front of them?! His lips twitched, and locked in a stammering motion, before his eyes dropped down, and a nervous chuckle lifted from his throat, "I-if.. you would like... Shaden. But I'm sure there is a much more suitable partner for you, than I." he could dance, for sure, but... wouldn't she be embarrassed? To be seen with the likes of him? His fingers clutched to one another, feet fiddling a little again. But the woman did not let up! His head lifted as she stood, flushed face standing out against the golden framing hair, and pale clothes. She was insistent... With a VERY shy expression on that angelic face, Athir slowly stood as well, meek smile turning on his lips, "If.. you're sure.." he murmured bashfully. This was the first time anyone had asked to do anything with him!

But all of the uncertain feelings twisting and turning inside him stopped short as the lights suddenly went out. A gasp lifted from surprised participants, Athir's own eyes darting about frantically, moving a bit closer to Shaden in a reflex. What was going on!? And there it was... a girl's death suddenly comitted.. a crazed man standing there with her 'blood' on his hands. Athir's body trembled as pure fear started to race through him, a hand lifting to gently take to one of Shaden's arms as a means of comfort. "Sh-Shaden..." his voice barely squeaked.

Lumena Castle, Ballroom

Phil felt himself freeze when he finally realized what it was that he was seeing, what it was that was going on. A Reaper? He secretly had known it all along. His deepest fear, his innermost demon. The ghost that had forever haunted him after being brought up in relative, simple conversation. A reaper, so corrupt they had crossed that boundary and became a wreck, a creature even worse than the witch eater -because witch eaters at the very least didn't eat their own kin. And the longest he stood there, his mind processing the happenings he suddenly felt himself slowing down as the realization came to him. There was something terribly wrong with the whole image; and it wasn't Graveyard being saved at the very last moment but Theo. That idiot of a brother he just had to have. On top of being majin going up against a reaper there was no way he could survive even though he did have faith in his teacher's teachings.

He swallowed hard, not even daring to turn his eyes to look at Orpheus, afraid that the moment he would break eye contact something terrible would happen and almost if by maintaining it he could protect Theo until he could rush to his aide. There was no way he was letting anyone lay a finger to even a single hair of his, especially not the reapers, especially not like this. "T-Theo..." the trembling whisper sent his heart thrashing as he dashed ahead barely registering the fact that Orpheus had said he'd follow and nodding a positive response.

Drawing closer he was overcome by an even worse sense of premonition, a dread he couldn't place in words his mind could comprehend. Ophelia was there too, and it really had been a terrible idea to let her come, but he'd just have to protect her too... It was about time his beliefs were put to the test, after all. His plight challenged. Dropping himself on Theo's path to halt him he took in a deep breath to calm himself and looked up at him. There was no way he was letting him go on knowing full well that he could be killed. If he had to erect a barrier in the middle of the ballroom to do so, then so be it. "Don't go." he whispered, fear poisoning every single small word spoken to its core, turning them cold.

Lumena Castle: Ballroom

As Theo pushed on through the crowd of people, he briefly wodnered where his twin was. But then he brushed it aside. Phil would be fine. He was a witch after all. Perfectly capable of looking after himself. And at the worst, he would know if something happened to Phil. His gut would tell him so. They were connected to each other simply by the virtue of being twins. And so he would push on. He was the older brother, and he was boudn by that promise from so long ago to always look out for Phil. He would much rather die than let Phil die. It would be better that way, no? But he had no intention of dying today. He refused to. He made his way through, coming out near the fight. A brief flash of white told him Ophelia was following him but he decided that the ongoing battle was more important. Concentrating, he aimed a fireball at the demented reaper, the stream of fire just narrowly missing the Black Heart circling him, waiting for the right opportunity. Hopefully, the fireball was enough to distract him. But nonetheless, it never hurt to have a back-up.

Slowly, Theo conjured another ball, this time taking more careful aim as he threw it. The tiny ball of flame exploded near the fallen reaper, illuminating the ballroom for a brief moment with a ghastly blue light. He could see Salem and Rajih as his lips curved in a smile as he started moving closer again. Then Phil came. A wave of relief washed over him to know that his brother was safe. "Phil. You're safe." He breathed. But he couldn't stay. Not here. But the fear, the sheer desolation in those two words scared him. He had never heard Phil say anything in that way, never. "I can't, Phil. You of all people should know why I can't." He smiled sadly and then ducked under Phil's arms, heading for the fight. Phil knew, he had to understand. Staying there, being protected... It went against everything he stood for as a person. It was betraying himself, betraying his principles. "Shall we get started then?" He murmured as he let loose a stream of fire at the monster before them, the azure flames hungrily reaching out, trying to claim everything they could reach. The blue light filled the room, offering a little illumination if nothing else.

Phil, leave. Please. He begged inwardly, knowing full well that his brother would never leave him. But what he wanted above all, was to keep Phil safe. Theo sighed as he stopped the stream of fire, moving to stand next to Rajih. When it mattered most, they would all stand with each other, side by side.

Things were all happening too fast for Lea to keep track of where everyone was or what they were doing so he tried to do the next best thing that he could in this kind of situation, which was to focus on getting Cedar, Xerxes, Kalypso and the blue-haired witch to safety before any of them got caught in the fight that was being waged between the fallen reaper and a few others who had stepped out to lend their assistance. The ballroom that had initially felt so vast and spacious to him when he first stepped into it earlier in the evening was starting to get a little too suffocatingly claustrophobic for his comfort. They needed to get out of there. Now.

His decision made, Lea turned to direct his full attention back to his company for the evening, or rather what was left of them, and frowned. The witch who had bumped into Cedar awhile ago aside since her intentions were already clear from the words she had uttered prior to running off on her own, presumably to aid the fight in whatever means necessary and within her own power. Cedar had mysteriously disappeared and was now unaccounted for. Where did she go? Did she really decide to join in the fighting in the end?

Growling out in frustration, Lea tossed a distressed look over at first Xerxes who had, bless his soul, managed to catch Kalypso in the nick of time then towards the female Ars Lilium as well as the large blue-eyed white tiger that had arrived to join her. It wasn't as if he didn't have faith in Cedar's abilities. She was a full-fledged witch who had graduated from the academy and that was proof enough of their recognition of her abilities so who was he to doubt any of that or stop her from making her own decisions? No. She wouldn't have bolted like that without saying anything to either of them.

"Please... could you please keep them both safe with your power and guide them to safety?" He motioned towards both Xerxes and Kalypso, a wry smile on his face as he allowed himself to turn and briefly appraise the situation around them. He couldn't really tell which side the fight was favouring at the moment from his current location but he really hoped that there would be no familiar faces among those whom the fallen reaper had taken down during another bout of his madness. Lea hated himself for his helplessness in this situation. What good was his power if he couldn't use any of it to do something simple such as keeping his friends safe? "Cedar... I have to look for her." He muttered, a haunted look in his eyes as he ran off into the crowd to search for her. He might not be able to do much but he could at least ensure that noone got left behind. Not if he could help it.

The explosion of the door off its hinges rocked through the room and Rosel stumbled away from the wall a step in surprise. Though she doubted anyone saw, she instinctively straightened her skirt anyway. There was quite the show at the front of the hall to distract everyone. It would have been such a joy to see another witch eater at work… If only he hadn’t apparently been the twit that had been making it hard for everyone with his antics, and was now letting sheer showmanship ruin them all for good.

She stumbled back against the wall as he moved into the room, snatching up the mononoke she’d seen at the tavern a few days ago. The man was clearly an imbecile. She gave him silent props for infiltrating the Reapers, but with a display like this, he had to be out of his mind and actually supporting them now. After his attacks and now this, everyone was going to think witch eaters were all monsters. Lynch mobs, witch eater trials… And now she just wasted her breath trying to paint them in a better picture for her little lamb.

Who was apparently trying to protect her now? Oh honey. How cute.

Noise, confusion, people running, fainting, making dramatic declarations of war… Normally, this would be Rosel’s kind of party. Unfortunately, such a situation in a bar usually yielded an opportunity for a meal. With so many reapers around, it was looking pretty doubtful here.

Her head snapped up at the mention of removing the hearts. The dragon reaper was going to try and remove the hearts? Effective, but what a ridiculous waste of them. Maybe, just maybe, if she could get in the thick of it, she could sneak one for herself. Besides, what did she owe this moron, other than an ugly death for her troubles?

Quickly stepping around her little lamb, she tweaked his cheek and winked. ”You just get out of here, sweetie. I’d just hate to see you get hurt.” Turning back to the fray, she absently brushed at her veil and moved quickly along the wall towards the action. Many people were gravitating towards it, ready to jump in. She noticed Salem in the thick of it and smirked. Cracking her knuckles, she let her lightning flit out around her as she moved closer. Ballroom brawls weren’t her usual style, but hey, she’d try anything once.

Ballroom [[Orpheus]]

It was as if the sound in the room got turned off, muted, subdued; he smiled wryly as Philemon dashed off, the glow in his own eyes dulling. Of course Theo was his concern. They were brothers. Family. Something Orpheus would never have. He pushed his hands into his pants pockets and, amidst the chaos, wandered over to the side of the room, taking a seat on a rather damaged-looking chair. He knew that everything was going on, and he wasn't usually one to freeze in these kinds of situations.

But something had just... snapped. In him. First the reapers turned out to be responsible-- or rather, one particular reaper-- and now he that reaper was a monster, collecting hearts. On top of that, the realization that as much as he wanted to have family... well, for the moment, Orpheus was taking everything too hard. So he sat there, and looked up at everything going on, before burying his head in one hand briefly. The idea of getting up to make contact with anyone at all was excruciating. He couldn't play music to a crowd that wouldn't hear it, muchless a crowd of this size. Didn't that make him useless? He couldn't fight without his violin, harp, guitar... anything, but he couldn't fight without those vibrations of sound.

Besides, weren't there already countless individuals who wanted to fight, risking death or dismemberment? Orpheus didn't feel that need to make things right or to be the hero like he had when he was newly a Witch. Right now, he just wanted to yell at the monster until his lungs hurt, tell it where it could shove its stolen hearts. That, equally, would do nothing.

Instead, he forced himself up, and went to stand next to the professor he recognized as Melenios who was approaching Sibelius. "Mind if I tag along?" he asked Melenios, out of earshot. He couldn't even pronounce Melenios' last name, so he hoped the teacher wouldn't be terribly put out.

Drawing a short, thin blade from his palm, one which resembled a surgical knife, he gripped it between two fingers while drawing a second blade from his other palm: his solar knives. There was very little he could do, but at least he could inflict small damage if the opportunity was present. If only he could use Judgement Gate... Still, there were others here more useful and powerful than he was... Still a pathetic Ars Lilium, how could he ever really help? Aldous bit his ankle interrupting his sulking, and looked up at him with one of his Get it together glares.

Melenios nodded, and sighed, which turned into a wracking cough, before he looked over to see a witch in black formal wear with leopard spots heading towards him. "Who are you?Not safe for a witch, here." The boy asked to follow him, however... Melenios supposed that at least if he could keep an eye on him, the boy might have a better chance. He was so young, comparatively... So they headed to find Sib in the fray, as if they could offer some kind of assistance.

Sigmund.

Sigmund thought it funny how hiss fears had the dogged tendency to track him down no matter where he could run. Almost as if his thoughts of them at all invited them to rear their ugly heads. Hadn’t he just been shrinking from the thought of his witch’s heart being stolen? And now, right in front of him, an exact re-enactment of his fear-ridden vision, a woman’s heart plucked clean from her chest by that… oh, that THING. No other word for it.

He stared at it, locked in fear, hoping that staying motionless would keep the thing from turning on him next. He was no fighter, not yet, no strong man and no brave man. He felt no shame in the terror that had risen up in his chest.

Sigmund probably would have stood stock-still, gaping at the thing, trying to just discern what it WAS, even if the monster had turned its fiery, deathly eyes on him next. Fortunately, it never came to that, because Niamh’s hand came down around his own, holding tight. He tore his eyes away from the thing to look to the only thing that meant anywhere near as much as his precious life, his sister. They locked eyes, for a moment, and Sigmund gripped her hand back with desperate strength. He followed after her as she pulled him away, not really caring how they got out. He’d put his faith in Niamh.

Kalypso opened her eyes and found her in all places Xerxes arms. "Oh My" She couldn't believe it. She then remembered everything that happened and felt embarrassed. Some people may think that she had a weak of heart moment and fainted. To tell the truth Kalypso didn't know why she fainted and how to explain what happened. Just the whole witch-eater thing brought up a lot of pain and memories that she didn't want to resurface. Her whole family.... No she will not remember and bring up the past. "Thank you very much Xerxes, I think I fine to stand on my feet again." She blushed a little. "I hope I wasn't too heavy for you."

She looked around the ball room. God everyone must have saw her faint. She could probably run off and change her name or something. She'll try to deal with that later. The situation at hand needs to be dealt with. She didn't really much magic so didn't know how she can help without being in the way.

Cruor's tail lashed as he moved and dodged attacks from others, all while continuing his own attacks on the renegade Reaper. If only he could transform, if only there wasn't the risk of harming innocents just due to his size alone perhaps there would be away they could pin down this creature. However they were surrounded by bystanders in an enclosed area thus his mononoke form, unfortunately, wasn't much of an option. No, he would have to rely completely on his normal, physical abilities for this until the entire building was completely clear.

Suddenly Cruor felt warmth spreading along his arm, frowning as he looked down at it before his widened. Flames were spreading across the entire arm of his coat, causing him to swear and quickly slice open the front of his jacket and shrug it off, tossing his sword from one hand to the other with ease. As and after thought he removed and discarded his cravat as well. That felt better at least, despite the fact that he had cut the front of his shirt open as well in his haste. At least he could move more freely than he could before which would help substantially.

With a small snarl he shifted his scythe back into its original form, running his fingers along the length of it as he did so. It felt better, more familiar than the sword had felt, causing him to smirk a little as he lunged for the creature once more. If he could just manage to remove even one heart, just one, that would make their battle that much better. Thus he swung his scythe towards the one-time Reaper's chest, hoping that his blow would land successfully.

She smiled when he corrected himself quickly and only called her 'Shaden'. It made her happy to hear someone speak her name in a friendly manner (like Graveyard had as well). Not in a commanding tone. Her smile softened to something she very rarely showed. "I am glad you think so. And I find that, I prefer you company to those others out there." The Reaper gestured towards the other guests. "Don't feel like I have to be a 'big tough Reaper' hangin' with you, kid." She winked, letting her gaze travel around to any that were close. It was a habit she couldn't help. Always watchful. Always making small notes of faces and scents.

With a pleasant laugh, Shaden modeled the dress a little for Athir. "Really, it's not too impressive." Even if he was younger, the compliment still made a faint pink hue rise to her own cheeks. "But I'm glad it gets approval! And why do you think it's black?" She teased right back. "It never gets any light after all!"

The Mononoke shrugged. "There probably is. But you get first dance." She grinned, hand extended towards the boy. s**t, if she didn't walk away after this without adopting him as her little brother or something, Shaden would be very surprised. "Trust me, I'm sure."

It felt like the words were barely out of her mouth when the lights flickered and went out. Her ears pinned back and everything else just seemed to flash by in the blink of an eye. Curses! That was how the creature was doing it! Because he - it....whatever! - was a fallen Reaper. Just how was this going to reflect on them, she faintly wondered before the feeling of a hand curling around her arm gently snapped her back to here and now only. The boy was scared. Hell, most of the room was scared. And chaotic. Shaden's eyes narrowed as she tracked movement going in the opposite direction of the main crowd. It was others fighting the creature. One she recognized as Cruor. Where is Graveyard? Her stomach clenched, free hand lifting to the necklace she wore. Help fight or help the innocents escape?

Her muscles tensed, hand pulling the necklace off and gripping it tightly. She bent her head to whisper in Athir's ear. "Stay close. I won't let it get you." Or anyone else. Help protect. There are enough fighting. Decision made, Shaden looked around until-

"GRAVEYARD!" The Ars Lilium was alright, for now. And helping. Shaden gripped Athir's hand and moved through the crowd, pushing those foolish enough to stand and stare towards exits. She moved towards her friend, putting a hand on her shoulder. "We need to get the kids out of here." She said to the Ars Lilium. "I'll help however I can. The kids need protection too." Her gaze glanced at Athir and she squeezed his hand once before meeting the purple gaze of Graveyard.

]One by one, the voices were going, pulled from his chest. The room swelled and ignited with a brief pillar of flame, and then a deluge of black water as the magic in the remaining hearts began to go crazy. It was one pulse of magic after another, the fallen reaper giving anything to in turn distract the ones trying to distract him.

"You can't have them! They're mine! They're mi-hahahah-ine!" he shrieked.

Miusa had stood from where she was previously sitting the entire time before, watching with a stern face at everything that went on. The incident with the first witchling who had her heart stolen...that had happened too fast for her to do a thing about. Every bone in her body ached to give them assistance in detaining this fell creature, but she prevented herself from joining them. She would not - could not- interfere every time something bad happened. True, she was a sage....she was very powerful, but she was not a hero, and this was not her time. It was not her place to interfere with the destinies of others, or the world around her. It didn't help before, and it wouldn't help now. She knew others might call her a coward for standing here like this, and that was something she could definitely accept. What a delightful excuse it'd be.

However, as the fell reaper turned its attention back to the students, reaching and ripping towards them...this was precisely why she chose to be here. He was high-tailing it towards one she had recognized from the hallways, a mononoke girl who took the shape of a tiger. In that form, while outwardly stronger, she'd be easier prey to have her heart snatched. Miusa was not about to let another student's heart get stolen. That, she couldn't stand still for. There was a flash of white, the collision of bodies, and the sound of choking. Miusa had reached through the crackling, hissing magic that had formed a vortex around the reaper, and had wrapped her fingers around his throat, nails digging in as hard as she could will them to, just to hold him there a moment. Her one arm had a wispy, blue glow pulsating around it, forming into what looked to be some monster's arm, as if she wore it as a glove. She cringed and shook from trying to hold him in place - physical strength was never her fortitude.

In one swift movement, the reaper reached back, his scythe forming an equally-frightening gauntlet upon his hand, and plunged his hand into the chest of Miusa, intent to rip her heart out after her endeavor to protect a student.

Sibelius was horrified as he watched the reaper plunge his hand into that Sage's chest. A sudden pang of guilt and fear paled his face. Why had she done it? A sage could have easily avoided that....so why? Steely eyes glanced at the form of the tiger that had taken it's place nearby. So, she was protecting a student... It looked as if he wouldn't be the one after all to have to eventually take her life, but now that the deed seemed done, it just felt....wrong. He shook his head from his reverie, noticing that for some whatever purpose, the Sage had not yet relinquished her death-grip on the reaper's throat, nor had he pulled his hand from her chest yet.

"Bind and execute!" he shouted about the noise of the room. It was a command commonly used in fighting with other reapers, so he knew that Cruor would understand the meaning....It was a call for a finishing blow no matter what the costs. He hoped that the others who stuck around would somehow assist in helping with the bind part, since only a reaper's scythe would be able to rip the hearts away from this fell man, including his own heart. A heavy, heavy cost.....tle to keep it, to keep that man in her death-grip.
