Shi waited until Kimiko cleaned the creature's pee off Teppei before he went up and nuzzled his shirt down to show his belly. Shi was prepared for any flailing as he made a big lick on the child's stomach, a big tickle spot for Kyoishi. He jumped away as Kyoishi shot up and wiping the slobber off his belly. "Gah! Shi! Bad doggy!" He pulled his shirt back down and looked at Kimiko, immediatly blushing. He felt embarrassed for his curiosity and stupidity. "She is sooo gonna kill me when we get back to Kumo..." He thought, he blinked a bit, had she gotten the stuff from his eyes and nose mostly? Thank doggies! He clung to his sister with a hug. "The animals here are weird Kimiko!"

The goodbyes were short, & when the scholars had gone, the two 'gentlemen' went back to business. Buildings had to be put up, wreckage cleared, & patrols to be done around the area. It was nice to have visitors, they thought, but what terrible timing. Elsewhere, the train station was void of most life, having been bombed out during the war. The small locomotive engine tooted its horn as the duo approached, signalling that they should get on board. There was only a caboose attached to the engine, & its sad state was clearly evident by all the rusty bolts & chipped red paint. Several holes protruded through the wooden sides, though most weren't big enough to make the trip unpleasant. After coming aboard, the scholars would be momentarily jolted by the sharp acceleration, & then the gentle click-clacks would override it, smoothing out the journey.
If they climbed up the ladder to the window seats, they'd see the depressing countryside, although saplings were starting to grow taller from amidst their ashen brethren, giving hope to those that could wait. The closer to the second metropolis they got, the more sprung traps & downed shells of former enemies they'd see. Soon enough, it was a rarity to see a clean section of forest, as most of the area to the sides of the tracks held the material that was formerly blocking the way. Nearing the second metropolis's station, they'd pass a derailed train, the first major loss from the war. Its burnt husk was oddly marred by marks made from putting out its fire: some of it was petrified, while other parts looked like they had been frozen, as the exposed wood was gnarled & warped from water absorption & expansion. Several abandoned fire trucks sat next to it, looking like they were in dire want of needing. Up ahead at the station, the train started to slow...

"Eek!" Kimiko toppled over, her face now forcibly pushed against the sheet of metal since the start of their transportation. The alarming rate of this was iffy from the start; she now realized. But as it gradually cooled down, she found her composure. Besides, it could might have also rose her brother to consciousness after the roughness of their trip's bump.
Watching those two, it was like seeing two blood brothers play around. She was discontent with seeing just the injured, the maimed, and the war's harbingers on the sidelines with their trains passing. So seeing them gave her more soul to gulp the tensions down. "Pbbt. That baby face of yours. I'll be really sad to see you get married off one day." She ended with a light laugh when Shi pressed his face onto him.
Now that he's woken up, she remembered her agitation and was about to give him a piece of her mind until he rose up to hug her. Kimiko blinked, having both feet in between surprised and amused. She couldn't stay mad at him, especially when he had his own way of thanking others. Yep, he was one of a kind. She sighed, gently caressing his hair while returning the hug. "Oy ve, it's soo rewarding to have you as my brother." Then Kimiko remembered his peculiar statement. And the reason behind his urine issue. Her eyes flashed belated concern. Animals..residing in here? I guess..it's possible..despite it's industrial advancements. But this place is hardly inhabitable for them anymore. "Animals? Explain." She held his shoulders now, intent. She recalled him hollering about something while she was discussing with the Captains. Was that the reason?
All she could think of was if the Sand nin decided they were too risky to have around and check. And whatever form they sent this 'animal' in could mean that they would have to straighten their acts and firmly stay in character. However so far Kyo was doing quite well. Her eyes lightened at that thought, releasing her grip and allowing her arms to stay at her sides. She could just be overthinking this. Meanwhile her eyes glanced over at the scenery once more where faint green brushes indicated some vegetation. It was inadequate but also considerable to this state.
At this point, being grateful for this ride was now out of the question. It was now a miracle how they could even save and afford this one train after seeing a recently derailed one. Though the marks on it's body made it lose it's former pride while being surrounded by some large mobile devices. She was amazed, feeling significantly shrunk in her born establishment but the pride still remained. Their changes would remain here after all, thus the importance of this would not be mentioned prior to their gathered intel already.
She could better see the scenery now at this concentrated pace. Their ride would soon come to end, or at least the rate of it's speed gave off that impression. "Get your bag. We might have to get off a little early...depending.." Adjusting her glasses, she sat back down. Standing, sitting, made no difference to mobile shinobi.

Although she kinda looks boyish...I don't mind though~" He was speaking of Maemi, smiling to Kimiko like any little brother would. When she asked about the animals he flailed his arms dramatically. "It was a lizard! I picked it up after it came out of some rubble and it squirmed in my hands then urinated on my hands...then went i still didn't let go it pee'd directly into my face!" Pulling up alongside the station, the conductor tooted the horn twice, signalling that they had reached the second metropolis. Steam from the brakes let out, its hiss pouring out from deep within the steel wheels' compartments. A jiggle came from the door handle as an ashen man stepped into the doorway, his hand still on the knob. "I'll keep ze engine vwarm in case ye decide to move forvward before ze day isz out," the train engineer hollared in his thick accent. "Ze medical tentsz are juszt inszide ze sztation." If the scholars entered the station, they'd be quickly approached by dozens of sickly hands, their feeble strength pleaing for help. Several heavily encumbered people were wandering about, checking up on bedridden patients & making adjustments to fluid levels. They wore what could only be considered as biohazard suits, the international symbol for 'biohazard' placed firmly upon the backs of their outfits.
In any situation, the train was still ready to depart to the first metropolis. Both the conductor & the second engineer kept to themselves after announcing the arrival, hiding behind the iron door to the engine room. The first engineer that had talked with the scholars would keep the caboose secure from any civilian raids, a hot poker in hand. Their overall demeanor meant to provide escape at the slightest provocation, to which they absolutely meant business. Upon the scholars' most menial actions indicating to move beyond this place, they'd start up the engine again & race away from it... but only if Kimiko & Kyoishi asked. Patiently, they would wait, beads of sweat forming upon their foreheads.

She looked to Teppei, about as ready as ever to make a remark about his actually marriage arrangement. However the pressing tension of the greater good and greater risk stole her attention. Her eyes narrowed, almost as once doubting the protection of those suits. Absently, Kimiko turned to her brother and gave him a brief hug before indicating him to stay. "Those toxic fumes are dangerous. If it takes too long, then continue on to the First Metrapolis, ye?" She smiled, acting senile for her age and reckless around it. Meanwhile, he would have discreetly received a slip of paper. Should something happen to Doki, their mission should continue. "I should hope to catch up to you after a few hours, no more, no less." Her tongue felt like cotton but her tone was convincing. Being a practitioner in her field, it would be downright shameful to provide all of what she can. Then again, she had other priorities. As much as 'Kimiko' can.
Kimiko approached the tent, quickly taking an additional uniform to avoid getting exposed while with her gaze now weak and timid with uncertainty. Her voice spilled through the helmet. "Did the aqueducts cause these fumes also?" She asked, her protected hand now underneath the slope of an immediate child's neck. A gelatinous blob of bright lime green encased her hand which eventually settled into the child's system after his diagnosis. Treating was under way. Though the depths of the toxic fumes were murky. Meanwhile, she glanced back over to the slit entrance of the tent, anticipating to hear the movement of her 'brother'.

Crackling in Kimiko's ear, a nifty communication device activated, allowing her to speak directly with the other attendants on hand. "Where have you been," an exasperated voice yelled into their own mic. "Never mind... you must be from the Lt. Colonel's group... mumble grumble mumble mumble... These people were infected by the invasion force. See the numerous needle punctures on the surface of the skin? Individuals are first infected through those, from what we can tell, but others have no such wounds." The child before Kimiko had no such wounds, & coughed harshly as she touched him, his body quivering as though it had a viscious case of the influenza. ((Assuming she did a Diagnosis...)) In fact, all of the symptoms of the influenza were present, but several newer symptoms were there as well. The young boy's Tenketsu had been infected, too, depleting most of his body's strength. An older male lay next to him in the preceeding bed, an IV drip hooked up even though he was visibly comatose. The comatose patient was further along the virus's course, his chakra considerably drained, his skin pale from its effects. The boy, however, had only been recently infected, & his heavy symptoms started to clear as Kimiko's treatment continued. If she removed her lime green blob from him, his most mild of symptoms (very light coughing, some sneezing, & a runny nose) would reappear within a minute or so, allowing for him to awaken slightly. "We picked up a name from the Sunagakure shinobi a year ago... 'Chakra Virus' is what they were calling it. They supposedly came up with a way to stop the effects so that the immune system could adapt before the body went into a comatose state. Nearly lost their entire group, even though Saraswati lost much more than half its population."
Outside, the engineers & the conductor had put their pokers back into the engine's furnace, alighting them just in case. In the caboose, a stack of rations was opened by the engineer stationed inside it, the lovely fumes of peanut butter & jelly on bread wafting to fill the cabin. Unwrapping it, he scarfed it down without much hesitation, before moving on to other picnic-like items. Before long, potato chip wrappers, watermelon rinds, cookie crumbs, & empty lemonade packets were strewn across the floor. There was certainly enough time for Kyoishi & Shi to snack, too, if they wanted. "Sorry," the burly man apologized to them, "but it's been a loooooooong time since we've been able to eat much."

The sudden transmission caused her to freeze momentarily before canceling any chakra related activity over the patient. Her hand held his neck, raising him so that she could see his profile better. The attendant was giving her present information necessary and gathered from that, Kimiko now confirmed the child to be free of those puncture marks. The thought was rather twisted but this was probably the enemies form of psychological warfare.
But they have gone above and beyond. To tap into the central nodes would be something unusual of those mechanical robots. Not that it really answered all of her questions; like the one that demanded 'who or what' the enemies were or have been. Anyway, it was odd now because the child in front of her did seem to be relieved of his older and more severe conditions. But the poor child didn't have it as badly as his neighbor. But before she could even go to him, she'll have to finish what she started.
Kimiko quickly looked back down at the boy. Between the short interval of removing the chakra, he was experiencing lighter symptoms once more. This made her worry but at the same time she was relieved that he was coming to. She smiled, giving him a positive reason to keep his eyes open. Meanwhile, the attendants were being more or less helpful. Well don't just stop talking. " So what would that solution be?" She asked through the transmitter while shedding some shudder at the weighing damage this virus has caused on the Saraswati state. Then let's not lose any more. Meanwhile, her one hand that had been unnecessarily pressing at her helmet outside the area of the transmitter now waved at the conductors and Kyoishi. A quick frown and a nod of her head would be sending them the signal that they could exclude her from whatever they were doing. Doki hoped that in all seriousness, that eating near a bio hazard site would give the obvious message that it wasn't going to be the best idea.

"We don't know the whole details, sorry," the voice over the com crackled for several seconds as the person on the other end tried to think to herself. "We kept finding strange food & missing anti-virals of the strongest degree, but that wouldn't completely stop the chakra loss effects. Whatever they did to stop that, you'd have to ask them yourself. We're not equipped to document that right now." The attendant motioned with a simple hand wave at Kimiko, to check out the freezer in the station's kitchen. It was outside the infection zone of the tent she was in, buffered by several layers of plastic drop cloths & water showers. Two young men sat around a table by the stoves, playing cards to pass the time, their hazmat suits hung up by the door to the outside. On the other side of the stove sat the refrigerator, its massive six foot double doors encased by steel. Opened up, Kimiko would be able to stroll right in, as the cold environs extended back at least eight feet or so. Slabs of pork roast & steak covered the right side's shelves, anti-virals & other assorted medical items covered the opposing side. At the very back, the small shelves crossing between the two had what appeared to be normal food, but well cooked & wrapped in plastic. A large plate hung off of the chest height shelf, the words 'Shinobi Assistance' engraved upon it.
Receiving the go-ahead, the train engineers quickly fired the engine, sending large billows of pitch black smoke up from the stacks. The familiar jolt of first movement sent the caboose into action, the two parts of the train heading off to the first metropolis. The conductor smiled at Teppei, gobbling down another sandwhich as he offered her a bit more to eat than the two bites. Some time later, they would arrive at the turn-around point, letting Teppei & his dog off to survey the damage. Being the insertion point of the invasion's forces, there wasn't much left to speak of. Buildings were toppled left & right, & successful traps were sprung everywhere with the carcases of the former automatons laying in each place that rubble was not. Closer to the shoreline, mud & silt from the tsunami laid claim to those within the first stories of the remaining structures. Magnus's survey group was sitting upon the front steps of the train station, taking a break from all the hiking. "Those tin cans are everywhere," a heavily scarred woman complained, twiddling a hiking pole from hand to hand. "Found an intact one down at the shoreline, I tell ya."
"You're lying," a gruff older gentleman retorted. "No way one could still be around after they all fried."
"It's true, I tell ya, down by the spanish galleon! The shell was encased in all that rebar that they stole, keeping it together, but its internals looked like they'd exploded or something."
"Blackened green dust, just like the others?"
"Yup. You're right on that account, but I'll insist on it being together, at least on the outside." Laughing at that point, the others in the group started for the train, waving at the satiated conductor for the promised food. Boy were they going to be surprised to know that the conductor himself had eaten a good portion of it!

"I'm so sorry to hear that. Well, alright, thank you." Kimiko gently allowed the boy to rest back to his original position before the next attendant took over after signalling her leave to the back Kitchen. She carefully treaded past patients and beds, until entering the room. She had taken off her suit for the time being to greet the two males. It was unusually depressing to see them without much to do while problems were coagulating just out this kitchen before them. "This virus business must be tiring for you folks. Can we really spare the time?" Smiling politely, she came over to their table. "If you'll allow me to take some of your precious time, I would like to ask whether if you know anything about the countermeasures to stopping the chakra loss effects on these afflicted victims. If not, then maybe someone else who can?" Sure, she could just investigate inside inside the frigid stoles herself but it was unsettling to go alone. The distant possibility of it locking behind her notice was something that kept her from actually doing it.
"You two don't seem to be very concerned.. So I take it you must have some knowledge around this virus." She started to ask a little more sheepishly now. Perhaps Kimiko had gone too gung ho over this, too alarmed at this glance. Despite it being a virus under quarantine, they could have already had the treatment. The matter might have been; to treat up the remainder. Then again, this was just an assumption.

"Blackjack!" One of the men playing cards yelled, letting out his jubilee by raising his arms high into the air. Quickly putting them down as the scholarly female entered, he coughed, looking down at his next hand. That was the dealer's indication to look behind himself, over his shoulder. Moving an arm back over the chair, he winked at Kimiko, a pervy grin beginning to splash across his face. "Well howdy," his southern drawl came forth. "I do believe we got 'ere a pretty lady. Chakra loss, eh? Why, I do say that we 'ave something for that now, but it's only 'alf the equation." Standing, he scruffled up the cards, much to his buddy's chagrin. Strutting over to the refrigerator with as much swank as he could muster in such a short distance, he pulled up on the handle, a cold fog spilling forth as the door creaked slowly open. Ice crystals dripped from everything, including the inner emergency handle that was frozen in place, but was welcoming enough compared to the sweltering heat outside it. Scooting the heavy door further out of the way, the man pointed at the back of the cooler towards the info plate between the two sides. "That's our back-up food from where we found it, in the first metropolis. It stops the loss of chakra but doesn't cure people, so we stopped 'anding it out all willynilly. Not even the politicians get this stuff, so don't be taking too much." Grabbing a frozen slab of steak, he turned about & tossed it at his coworker before listening to Kimiko's last question. "About as much as the nurses out front. From what I remember, Tenketsu are supposed to be carriers of chakra, right? If the food stops the loss, then it must be plugging up the pathways or something, but chakra keeps pushing. The Suna medic must know some kind of jutsu or have some kind of personal abilities to be able to fully stop those Tenketsu thingies from working. That's my thoughts anyways." Letting out a hearty southern laugh, he asked his own question, "Do you know anything more than we do, pretty lil' missy?"
Elsewhere, with Teppei, the gruff older gentleman stroked his scraggly beard, pointing towards the heavily scarred woman. "Eh, you want to take a look at it, young man? Well, come on, I don't have all day!" Beckoning Teppei to follow her, she started down the slope, jogging along the embankment where the group had made a makeshift pathway through the debris. It would be safe along there, free from obstructions. A ways down the waterline, they would pass under a toppled bridge, its mighty stone structure held up only by the large amounts of bot wreckage underneath it. And yet it was safe, for all limited practical uses. Coming out from under the structure's shadow on the other side, they'd come into view of the floating galleon. It was anchored at the end of a long untouched pier, so no other problems would present themselves as the woman & the scholar approached. Sure enough, the intact bot was leaning up against the hull, its helmet sitting in its hands. "The helmet really didn't want to come off, so I had to pull with all my might! Got another scar too, on my right forearm." Bending over, the woman tugged at the rebar surrounding the torso, manhandling it to get the insides to a better view point. Sunlight eventually found its way in, & boy was the inside charred black and green!

"Maybe we can take the head or helmet to the second metropilous and I can study it there, be like a souvnier!" It looked really cool to Kyoishi and even Shizuki sniffed it, backing away. Kyoishi had to noticed a couple things, why would the lady put the helmet int he bot's hands, originaly the physics would call for humans to take a helmet off and lay it to the side, never in the hands infront of them and if they did their hands wouldnt be holding it, a table or ground would. "How can you get a scar from lifting a helmet off? It can't be that heavy or hard, why were you pulling it off?" he just felt suspicious of this, a helmet couldnt be that heavy and if it was she still wouldn't of been able to set it perfectly in the bot's hands. She alsos aid she got a scar from it, didn't she mean a cut? She would of dropped the helmet if she had.
