Billy gave a slightly embarrassed smile, and then Carlie turned to face them, grinning... almost as if she knew... and that made Billy blush again.

Oh yes, Carlie decided. She was going to have fun teasing this... rather attractive teenage boy. So, as she walked out beside her father and with Billy behind them, she began to exaggerate the sway of her hips. Naturally, this caused Billy to blush crimson and do his best not to look.

As Carlie changed back into her GL outfit, Billy yelled "SHAZAM!" and was transformed into his Captain Marvel state... much to Carlie's delight, as she reacted the same way any sixteen-year-old girl would react to seeing a very well-built, handsome man in their midst: She squealed like a fangirl.

"Huh-wha?" Carlie asked, still staring at Marvel, who, far from blushing, looked rather bemused as he looked down at her. "Oh... Right. Sorry, Dad..." she said, looking away hastily.

"So... Are we set, Hal?" Marvel asked, looking to the elder Jordan.

Zatanna blinked. She hadn't moved; she was certain of it. Nevertheless, everyone had vanished from around her. It wasn't a simple abandonment thing, either. Time had clearly passed, maybe even weeks. Shaking her head in an attempt to ward off sudden, mystically induced nausea, she slowly pressed herself up against a wall, then slid herself down to the ground, using the stone as support the entire way. Then she leaned forward, propping her head up with one hand, closed her eyes, and waited for the world to stop spinning. "I am not," she told herself in in a low, firm voice, "Going to pass out. Right? Right. Zatanna Zatara does not pass out." She fell silent for a beat. "... She might throw up, though. Ugh..."

Zatanna looked up somewhat blearily. Luckily, the red, gold, and white outfit was pretty easy to recognize all on its own, even if she hadn't been able to make out the giant gold lightning bolt. She relaxed against the wall slightly, confidant now that she wasn't about to get jumped while she was basically helpless. "Hey, Captain," she said, removing her sleek black top hat and setting it on the ground beside her. Then she leaned forward, hugging her fishnet-clad knees and allowing her hair to fall around her face. Without looking up at him, she continued in a more steady voice; it was better when she kept her eyes closed. "Sorry. I think I hit a time pocket of some kind. Did you guys already do the hell thing?"

"God," Zatanna muttered. There was a sort of greenish tone to her words; she did NOT like Black Lanterns. There didn't seem to be much to say, other than that. She sat there for several long, silent beats, trying to get the weak, sick feeling under control, but was having a bad time of it. "Is... Batman hasn't come back, has he?"

She shook her head. "No; I'm going to be fine." Well, fine was sort of a strong word. Black Lanterns... Luckily, she was starting to feel less dizzy, if no less worried by the news she'd just received, and a moment later she was getting back to her feet, though she did wobble a little in her high heels.

She blinked at him for a moment, her own bright blue eyes puzzled, and then abruptly beamed at him. This kid was too cute. So worried! "Thanks, Captain; that means a lot," she said, putting an answering, friendly hand on his shoulder. Still smiling, she stepped out of his grip, steady on her legs once more.

She was forgetting something. "Umm..." she murmured, gloved hands lightly making sure she had everything. Tuxedo jacket: check. Bowtie: cool. Wand: in her pocket. Hat... "Gotcha. Tah ym nommus." Sparkles gathered around her top hat, which was still resting on the ground, and it practically shot over to her. She caught it handily without out so much as looking (she was still checking to make sure that her father's pocket watch was still safe in the inside pocket of her jacket), and placed it firmly on her head. Finally, she turned back to Captain Marvel. "I think that's everything. Should we head back to this... Sanctum?"
