[[Somewhere on the Paintball field (Rivener) <Varun, Prajna, Eiry>>]]

Rivener had begun to float in a random direction, seeking out that pair of red-heads, when Eiry's voice drifted over loudly, declaring he'd hit-... Prajna! Riv's eyes followed Eiry's pointing to locate the frei, forehead splattered with orange... Hah! Riv's earlier retribution on Eiry's behalf had been returned, and now the brothers were even. The Scorpion gave Eiry a wide, proud grin, nodding his appreciation from afar. He only hoped he wouldn't be spotted by the two younger Raevans...

Eiry had wandered over to Isi for a moment, and by the time the minty Sigel turned to bring his rifle back to the booth, Prajna had focused all its tantrum-throwing attention on Eiry. Varun, in contrast, stood in shock like he'd been knocked on the head with something. Neither were paying much attention to the surroundings... Perfect. Riv's lips curled into a malevolent rictus and his wings flared with anticipation of his vengeance.

Quietly (easy to accomplish when one made no footsteps), Rivener circled the pair and approached them from behind... Prajna was farther, having crossed half the field to engage in a screaming match with Eiry, so it was around Varun's neck that Riv's hand closed first.

"Gotcha, you little brat!" Riv growled as he held Varun by the scruff of his neck, floating him forward until he could reach Prajna as well. Eiry's scream must have done a proper job of distracting the star-Frei, for Rivener found no difficulty in grabbing Prajna's scruff the same way he held Varun's. With both Frei his prisoner, Riv growled. He wasn't sure yet he wanted to do anything to them, but seeing them look scared might be enough revenge for him. If they knew what was best, they'd better look suitably intimidated!

Ekundayo opened her mouth to answer and tell Cordelia that she should keep her dark hair pinned back more often but a crisp voice cut in before her. She turned and smiled.
Ms. Shade,” she said with a small bow of her head. “And it’s okay. I am sorry for messing you up.”
The Raeven let her golden eyes take in the woman’s paint-glazed body. A part of her wondered if it was painful. It must be. Ekundayo turned her eyes and watched Cordelia interact with her guardian. At first, she thought maybe Ebony was upset. Maybe the guardian had had a horrible time. That was one conclusion that Ekundayo came to when Ebony didn’t say much and merely patted Cordelia’s cheek. She floated forward to further apologize for skewing her aim but stopped when her friend spoke to her again.
…Okay,” Ekundayo replied hesitantly. She focused her energy on the woman. Whatever connection she could make with Ebony was quickly deteriorating as she continued to walk away. But Cordelia was right. All she felt from the guardian was a tired sort of happiness. The purple-haired woman really did seem comparable to her own Faye in the sense that neither of them showed much outward emotion. Ekundayo watched Ebony walk toward the small group of adults over by Alex’s booth before turning back to Cordelia.
I would love to see your room. I want you to see mine too,” she said with a smile. “Faye can take us to the park.

--------

Fathle offered one last nod to Alex before turning his full attention to Jezabroux.
“It is a pleasure, Jezabroux. Thank you for your compliments about Ekundayo. I am sure she will be delighted to hear she has an admirer,” he said with a smile. “And I have no connections to that delicatessen. It is owned by a man named Bennet. I merely a very regular patron – Ms. Shade!”
He offered a smile and looked amused at the woman’s recognition of the other man.
“You look battle-worn and glorious, my dear. I apologize for leaving so abruptly earlier but I am glad to have met you again under such… colorful circumstance,” he added with a playful smile.

(( Somewhere on the paintball field, tag Rivener, Prajna, Varun and Eiry ))

From afar, Lazarus had noticed something wrong with Rivener, the spreading of wings, the slight trembling, the expression, he looked positively angry in a creepy way. With the paintball tournament now ended, he quietly followed behind the scorpion as he went to return his gun. After Rivener had left the popsicle booth, Lazarus followed closely as he placed his empty gun as well, and quickly followed Rivener's trail, making sure to keep a distance so that he wouldn't notice. The firey Sigel felt bad for trailing the other Sigel like this, but he sincerely was just worried about his friend.

Eventually he spotted the little group of Varun, Prajna and Eiry, and realized Rivener was heading in their direction. Did any of them do something to piss Rivener off? He wondered momentarily. The next events happened so fast that it caught the incubus by surprise, Rivener wrapped one hand around Varun's neck and then came the ghostly shriek from Eiry, which made Lazarus winced. Prajna's neck came after as the scorpion had both of them in his hands. What in the world is he doing?! It was no longer time to just sit and watch, he felt the need to do something before Rivener do something stupid.

"RIVENER!!" Advancing forwards, he shouted at the scorpion Raevan, trying to draw his attention. "What the hell are you doing?!" Putting his hands to Prajna's shoulder and the other gripping on Rivener's wrist, he tries to make the scorpion loosen his grip.

(( Popsicle Booth --> Beachfront; Tag to Ravi, Storei (mention), & Chrys (mention) ))

Anita recalled, and nodded, casting a glance at the spider Frei. Anastacia had been one of the names she approved of and had told Zeke as much in one of their first text message sprees, the one where she discovered her own developing charge had become a floating head. There wasn't much time to laugh at the memory, as Zeke's tone changed while clarifying about the situation between Anya and Vyn.

"Oh," Anita paused, her brow knitting slightly. So it seemed that Vyn had met with Anya without knowing that she had been the virus Raevan to begin with. It made her wonder if the dark rose's opinion of Anya would change if she came to know what she was; whether she would spurn her or take it in stride. It was so hard to say without knowing Vyn personally. "That's unfortunate," she huffed quietly, a bit at a loss as to what should be said on the matter but she cast Zeke a reassuring glance when then gave way to a freak out and giggles.

A boy.

When Zeke made the motion against his chest to emulate breasts, Anita lost it, cackling like a wild hen and grabbing onto the counter of the booth to keep herself steady. Yes, she would have to seek Zul out when he was more free! He needed to know that the mistletoe baby was going to be a boy! "Oh man, that's just--" she choked out, pausing again to laugh.

Too exciting for words.

"You're gonna have to--! ...Oh," she laughed quietly at herself and hushed up as a male Sigel she had just barely caught sparse glimpses of came over and called to Zeke, prompting the colorful man to give her the 'just a second' hand signal. She nodded, popping the lemon popsicle in her mouth and stare at Tango who, in turn, was staring at her popsicle and licking his lips every few seconds. Chuckling under her breath, she carefully grabbed a handful of ice cubes from the nearest container without disturbing any pops and held one out for Tango. The dog took it gratefully and wagged his tail, beginning to gnaw.

Then the call was made for a gaggle of humans and Raevans to come over to the popsicle booth to get ready for the next game, and it was paintball! Damn, she had missed the signups, she didn't even know there were games! Oh well, though, having her dog here wouldn't have been good anyway, he probably would have chased her or anyone else running around with the guns if she participated. Kneeling down and setting the handful of ice into her cooler with the rest (most of which had melted a great deal already), she collected her things and rested the popsicle in her mouth while waving to Zeke. He was busy, she would leave him be for now. Maybe she could seek Zul out and catch up with him if he wasn't too busy, that would be a nice treat.

Tugging Tango along, she departed the booth and hit the sand once again as a cool breeze came with some cloud cover. She sighed contentedly, though picked up her pace when she felt her popsicle begin to trickle down her chin. On the way to the seaside once more, she caught a glance of Zul, though again he was occupied, this time with another Raevan, the black clad girl with cat ears. Maybe in a little while. Impatience was tugging at her and if he didn't free up soon she might have to go and interrupt, but she would try to be tactful for as long as she could.

Letting the dog loose, Tango rushed into the waves again, nipping at the foamy waters in excitement as she folded out her towel and wiped her face clean. Besides the paintball, things seemed to finally be starting to calm down and she could hear the shots ringing off in the distance. Cleaning up the quickly melting popsicle, she took to standing beside her towel while watching Tango until she felt a thick, hard and watery SMACK against the back of her thigh. Letting out a yelp, Anita fumbled with the popsicle until it fell into the sand. "Dammit," she hissed, lifting her leg up so as not to put pressure on it and curved herself to see the 'wound'.

Pink like watermelon flesh. Anita frowned and took the edge of the towel and wiped it off. At the velocity and distance, and especially considering it was paintball, there would likely be a decent bruise there in the next few days. Always something at these Lab beach get-togethers. The first one she got scared and scraped her back up because she thought she saw a ghost. She had to shake her head at that one. Dumb.

(Just outside of Paintball > Beachfront - Tag to Snoof)

This would be interesting.

Leo stood just far enough from the event as to possibly not get hit by a stray paintball. He had to wonder how hard it would be to hit a Raeven with one, seeing as most of the didn't have anything under chest-length, aside from what looked like ribbons. Today had been his first time really being exposed to the strange, humanoid creatures, though he hadn't really had a chance to speak with one. He had snapped a few photos of the one at he drinks booth, and maybe a couple at the petting zoo, but no conversations have been had.

Maybe he would be able to catch up with one personally.

That one stray paintball had caught his attention; Leo's eyes followed it until it stopped. Right up against that Anita woman's leg. He drew in his breath in a quick hiss, that definitely couldn't have felt good. The last time he had been hit with a paintball, he had a nice blue knot on his left temple. Luckilly it was just the young lady's leg.

"Do you need a new popsicle?" A joking tone, though a completely serious question. Leo then pulled out a cold bottle of water, practically just out of the cooler, and handed it to Anita, signalling her to use it as a mock ice-pack. It would have to do for now, though the injury wasn't that terrible. Just a kind gesture, if anything else. He wanted to make a good impression considering this wasn't going to be the last time he saw her.

Leo pocketed his camera; he remembered that Anita was rather uneasy about it. Sitting down on the warm sand, he turned his gaze towards Tango. "Anita, you said?" He offered her a smile, hoping to ease the mood, "Why is it that I always catch you alone? You don't enjoy the company of others?" Not that he had much room to talk. When he was out of the house, it was hard to get his face off of his camera. "Do you have something on your mind?"

He knew he asked a lot of questions, but Leo couldn't really help it. He had always sort of hoped for a one-on-one talk with her since he first saw Anita. That one day at the store was rather... confusing, but he wouldn't press. Anita seemed rather awkward around him ever since, but who could blame her? Her explination earlier was a hint, but Leo remembered that he wasn't the only one she kissed that day. It really didn't bother him one way or the other. She was cute, but he didn't know her, and she didn't seem to have much interest in him.

"I can leave if you'd like. I know I ask more questions than people like."

(( Petting Zoo => Paintball Field ))

The screaming made her head jerk up, standing abruptly and looking out over the sand. What was going on? Was that--! "Rivener and Eiry," the woman growled softly under her breath, giving her booth a quick glance before taking off like a shot - running full tilt over the white surface of the beach, sand kicking up in her wake. Alex hadn't exactly thought that everyone could get along - but she damn well expected better from the Sigels. Reaching the small gaggle of Raevans, the woman with a lower body put a hand on Rivener's stomach and extended another towards Prajna.

"Stop it," she hissed, eyes dripping with bright venom sliding between the gathered, though skipping over Lazarus; he was actually trying to help, which was a blessing. "What the blazes is wrong with you guys? It's a GAME, the object of the game is to shoot people! If you get hit and you're going to cry like this, don't sign up next time - now break it up!" The Italian bristled, jaw set and her lips pursed; they were all her family and they were lucky she wasn't treating them as such by dragging them by the ears. Where the hell were all the Guardians during this!?

She glanced to Eiry, rather unhappy that he seemed too intent on 'playing' to even notice he was partially inciting the riot. Eyes slid towards Rivener and Varun: two proud males, she could only imagine what transpired other than the paintball attempt. And Prajna - she'd never felt right with that one. Pushing the Scorpion back in a barely gentle manner, she scowled and looked at the gathered. "There are people here who want to support you guys and the Lab." The woman lifted her hands for a moment to stem any arguments or retorts that may have sprung up. "Getting into a brawl over a game isn't what this get-together is about, do you get me? This is for friends and standing together when past events divided us. If you can't have fun, go cool off in the water or go home. You guys aren't children." There was no room for argument there. They weren't. They knew better.

Alex gave one last disapproving glance, waiting. She wasn't leaving until they had dispersed. Who knew she'd have to play bouncer amongst a sea of half-bodies?

((Delia=Popsicle Booth // Ebs=Petting Zoo))

“That sounds nice. I go with Ebby to the park sometimes when she wants to run.” Cordelia was about to ask what her and Faye did at the park when they went, but the most horrible of screeches reached her ears then. Being a tad sensitive to vibrations and certain high-pitched sounds, the basilisk hissed in pain, covering her ears to muffle the blood-curdling scream.

When she was sure it had stopped, Delia slowly uncovered her ears and looked to Dayo with utter confusion, perhaps even a bit of fear. “W-what was that?” Carefully her grey eyes searched the sandy beach until they fell on Zul’s woman zooming across the mid-way like a black streak of lightning towards a group of Raevans. What was going on? “Dayo?” she was curious, but by the looks of Alex, Cordelia wasn’t sure if they should go over there or not. Thus it was in question to this that the girl turned to the eagle.

Ebony looked to Fathle, then back to herself and actually groaned, not able to keep it under raps. Swiping at the paint once more, “Cordelia signed me up for the worse possible game ever.” She smiled a little though at the endearing gesture and at how much fun it had actually been to run around like a kid rather than like she did for work. “Though I can’t say I didn’t enjoy it. It was…a little fun. I guess.”

Shrugging at her own wishy washy words, the Brit was just about to ask Alex about getting something to clear off the rest of the paint when a ghastly sound hit the air and the Italian went flying off leaving her and the two men with just the mysterious mutter of two Sigel’s names. Ebony sighed and pinched her thumb and forefinger to the bridge of her nose, all the while shaking her purple head. No matter how old the boys got, they seemed to get into all kinds of trouble. She was dearly hoping the girl Raevans were different. Time would only tell.

As much as she wanted to run off and help, Ebony thought it best to stick here and sort of temporarily man Alex’s booth. Releasing her hand and opening her eyes, the Brit went to address Jezabroux once more, only to find he was missing now. Her silver eyes blinked in confusion. Where’d he go? He had been here right?

((Ty -> beach/ Yuu=drinks booth / Lucia=Oceanside))

Ty brushed his hair out of his face as the announcement came from the popsicle booth that his team had won! Thankfully he didn’t have to worry about being hit anymore, so Ty stood up from his crouched position. Stretching out a little, he walked back to the popsicle booth, the noise from the area hiding the screaming raevans.

Tossing his gun with the others, the blonde saw his sister talking to Aphi – the uptight boyfriend – and he decided to avoid that. Instead he walked back towards the beach and Lucia. Stopping by the blanket and his drink, Ty grabbed his booze and walked over to Lucia and her friend.

Lucia smiled brightly at the good friend comment. She was happy to know that she still had friends who liked her. And the rest could maybe come around eventually. If not, she liked Zul enough for him to be one of the select few friends she had.

Lucia hugged Zul with one arm as she looked out at the water. The conversation had become too serious for a day of fun. She had made him laugh with Ty’s expression, which was really great to hear. She didn’t remember hearing him laugh too much when he was helping her heal. As a larger wave rolled on the shore, Lucia remembered dipping her hand in the warm water. It wasn’t hot – like the time she had been forced into the hot showed. It wasn’t ice cold – like the water with the drinks with it. It wasn’t full of chemicals – like the pool from last summer.

”Have you ever been swimming in the ocean, Zul?” she asked quizzically. She wasn’t sure if the warm salty water would be nice or not. As Ty walked over, the frei’s eyes lit up a little.

”Ty! This is Zul. Zul, Ty – my guardian’s brother. You’ve been swimming in the ocean before -- do you like it?” Ty, she knew, surfed at home.

His bright green eyes examined the frei whose arm was around Lu. He looked pretty bad a**, but didn’t seem to be harassing or taking advantage of her. ”It’s a beaut – or awesome!” he replied, mocking her Gaian English slang. ”You should come surfing with me some time.”

----------

”I’m sure!” Yuurei said lightly, waiting for the kabob to finish. She looked at the brightly colored vegetables on a stick heating up on the grill. As it finished quickly and was handed to her, Yuu took one end of the stick and gently bit into a red pepper. ”Wow!” she said appreciatively. ”This is good!” she eyed a mushroom before slowly sinking her teeth into the fungus.

The slightly grilled skin had a bit of crisp to it, but the vegetables were still juicy. Patting the napkin to her lips as she held the kabob on one hand, she looked at Aphi with a smile. ”Thank you! Do you need a drink or anything? I’m going to get one.”

As if reflecting the on-goings on the beach, the gentle breeze picked up a little momentum. Strong enough to blow up skirts and maybe a hat or two, but not strong enough to break umbrellas yet. The waves are getting larger as well, the sploshing sounds getting louder as the waters slowly crept up the sands on the beach. In the distance, a small sandcastle was crushed in the creeping waves. Perhaps they should consider making the sandcastle a bit further from the waters later.

Clouds drifted over the sun as the wind blew, giving the visitors on the beach a break from the overbearing sunlight.

[[ Paintball Field, tag Rivener, Prajna and Lazarus ]]

The banshee shriek had startled Varun from his apparent state of shock, his wings fluttering as he tipped his head to observe the screaming match about to erupt. Halfway to warning Prajna off such a foolish endeavor, he had no idea he was being hunted until he had already been caught. Startling violently, the Leviathan roared in anguish as his wings and fins shot outward. And then he realized who's hand was wrapped around the scruff of his neck and his undone hair

"Let me go," he hissed, ribbon twirling as he flailed wildly. It took a moment for him to realize Rivener wasn't done yet, but by the time he shouted "Prajna!", it was too late, and the Scorpion had captured his friend as well.

"Let Prajna go!" Varun raged, striking wildly at Rivener's body. "He had nothing to do with it!"

Suddenly Lazarus appeared, and while Varun did not recognize or know the Sigel, he was, apparently, grateful for the cavalry to arrive. He couldn't rescue Prajna on his own, especially when he was being held arms length away from the captor. "It was not Prajna's fault, he insisted firmly, pale hands trying to pry Rivener away from his neck.

[[Ekundayo: Popsicle Booth // Fathle: Petting Zoo

Tags for: Ebony Shade]]

She didn’t answer Cordelia at first. That scream. That scream was like the ones on the TV when someone was getting hurt, or worse, dying. To hear it with such ferocity in real life made Ekundayo want to shrink into herself; she pulled her feathery, golden-brown wings close against her back.
I don’t know…,” she said, her voice sounding far away and quiet. She looked around for the cause of the commotion and her golden eyes followed Alex. “Alex…
Ekundayo turned her head when she felt the smallest bit of fear growing out of her friend. She immediately took Cordelia’s hand and squeezed it. Touching always made her powers intensify and she shivered at the sensation of the fear and confusion seeping into her. No, she wouldn’t allow it to overtake her. She would drink it in and turn it into food.
That was scary. Alex is… angry. They are all angry,” she said. “I don’t like it.

Feeling such negative emotions drew and repelled Ekundayo at the same time. This paradoxical pull always confused her. She liked to be happy. So why did such chaos call to her? In such times of uncertainty, the Raeven turned to the only thing that made her feel grounded and safe.
I want Fathle,” she said. “Will you come with me?

----

Fathle smiled warmly and couldn’t help but chuckle slightly.
“I am glad. And please, forgive me. I am only giving you a hard time,” he said. “I do not believe a bit of paint can diminish you in any way, Ms. Shade.”
He was eternally glad when Ebony turned away from him to speak to Alex considering the sound of the scream immediately called forth his fangs with a quick pop. With a small snarl, he immediately checked for the origin of the disturbance. If Ekundayo was in any way involved with that scream, Fathle would not give a damn about revealing his vampiric nature… as audacious as that plan might be.

No, she was safe. She was still by the popsicle booth next to Cordelia. Fathle closed his eyes and clenched his fist, pushing down the surge of adrenaline. With a tilt of his head, he felt his fangs withdraw back into the roof of his mouth. The scream had come from a small group of Raevens. He watched as Alex immediately ran over to them to stop what looked like an impending fight. Fathle’s eyes glanced back to Ekundayo. It didn’t seem serious yet. It looked like Alex had it under control or was attempting to calm everyone down. He kept the small group in his sights before he turned his full attention back to Ebony.
“That was a bit dramatic,” he murmured with a small, wary smile. Fathle followed the woman’s gaze and noticed for the first time that Jezabroux was gone. “Odd. I did not even hear him depart.”

He left Ebony’s side for a moment to look about the small stand, his eyes lingering upon one of the small creatures frolicking about in the water. Fathle returned with a small roll of paper towels and some bottled water and offered it to the young woman.
“Here you are, Ms. Shade. Think of it as a kind of apology for leaving so suddenly the last time we met,” he said. Fathle felt the intensity of the sun’s heat diminish greatly and glanced up. The wind was picking up and was making the gentle waves become more potent and crash further up the shoreline. “And I hope the weather does not intend on making our second meeting just as short.”

((Delia=Popsicle Booth -> Petting Zoo // Ebs=Petting Zoo))

The snake gave a squeeze back to the hand and nodded. There wasn’t any real reason for them to get involved over there. After all with such a big group of Raevans already, Alex surely had her hands full. If they joined, even just to watch, Cordelia had a feeling the Italian might end up giving them a lecture of some sort as well. Besides, looking at Ekundayo now, she could tell the girl was greatly disturbed and somewhat upset by the actions going on further down the beach. Thus taking the lead, Delia totted the eagle Raevan along to their guardians who happened to be together oddly enough.

As they floated over, Delia couldn’t help raising a grey eye to the sky that seemed to be reflecting not only their color, but also the high strung emotions of the current event participants. Strange, Ebby said the weather was suppose to be sunny and dry ALL day. Had her woman been wrong? And if so, was it really going to rain? The thought of that helped to drop Cordelia’s mood down along with the cloud girl by her side. She quickened their approach to their guardians, a safe harbor from anything and everything the two Freis did not like.

“Eirdirsceol would be quite pleased you thought that.” Ebony replied as she crossed her arms, obvious disapproval marring her tanned features as she looked out to Alex once more. “He lives for it and loves making all kinds of mischief. Not really sure how Aphismet and his lot manage to live with the perpetual prankster. Course that’s not to say he’s bad or anything. Sweet kid really, just wish he didn’t have to scare people half to death most of the time.”

She blinked at the sudden roll of papers and water bottle being thrust at her. Accepting them, “Oh, um, thank you.” Ebony gently unrolled a piece and opened the bottle to dampen the paper with. She was just about to start scrubbing at her shorts when she stopped and thought twice about that. It would have looked odd with Fathle standing right there, so instead the Brit went to wiping the dried paint from her exposed skin. “Technically, since you left, this would count as our third meeting.” The lavender haired female gave a teasing smile before craning her head to view the slowly darkening skies. “But yes, I hope so as well. Would be a shame for the event to end earlier than expected.”

Once her stomach was paint free finally, the woman began on her shoulder, which thankfully wasn’t smarting anymore. Gotta love nanobot technology. Without them, Ebony would surely be in a more rotten mood because of the pain that would have built. “So how did your little errand g-g-GO?!” The last word jumped due to a cold pair of hands surprising the Brit as they wrapped around her arm, Cordelia hugging her guardian’s arm as she normally did when she wasn’t feeling good or just wanted to hide so to speak.

((Paintball field, tag to Rivener, Lazarus, Alex, and Varun.))

Prajna took a moment to recompose itself as Eiry unleashed its tremendous shriek. It sounded like a girl being slaughtered by some masked villain. The redhead shook its head and then prepared itself for a beat down of the mischievious Sigel in front of it when it suddenly heard Varun's voice, followed by a sudden pressure to its neck. It needed no details. Clearly, Rivener had finally gotten a hold of the Star. As Prajna opened its mouth to protest, everything seemed to gain speed. First an older.. ... a much older, attractive Sigel floated on over and separated the Scorpion from the Star. Prajna felt its cheeks burning as its cerulean eyes made a quick glance over the unknown Lazarus. Who was this? ...Then. The woman. Prajna stiffened instinctively as the dark haired woman approached and began to reprimand the Raevans.

She just kept talking and talking and scolding but Prajna knew better than to yawn in mockery or disinterest; It knew the Frei would get stuck listening to her talk more if it behaved like that. The Star's icy eyes flickered over to Varun, who was still protecting the Star's name. Prajna felt immediately possessive in return when it saw Rivener's hand still on the Leviathan's neck. It extended a hand and dug its short nails into Rivener's wrist, never once removing its stare from Varun's concerned features.

"Whatever Rivener. Let Varun go or Prajna makes you do so," Prajna stated flatly, turning back to Alex and the unknown Sigel. It forced a smile. "So sorry for all. Let Varun go and Prajna go too with him. Rivener-fighting will not occur again."

It hoped this was the best approach to take to avoid as much consequence as possible.

[[Paintball field (Rivener) <Varun, Prajna, Lazarus, Alex, Eiry>> // Drinks Booth (Aphismet) <Yuurei>>]]

Well, this was a beautiful ********. Rivener felt his temper rising again when Lazarus came by to try and break things up, quickly followed by Alex... whose words had more of an effect than Laz's had. The Scorpion considered just letting the two Frei go and forgetting about all this before it became even more of a scene, but then Prajna had to go and dig its idiotic little nails into Riv's wrist, as though Rivener would ever have anything to fear from the androgynous Snack. That alone was enough to have Rivener's wings snapping open again, but he held back with nothing more than a rustle of the leathery limbs.

Fingers let go of both Prajna and Varun, Riv jerking his wrist out of the Star-frei's grasp. He sneered at Prajna with barely contained irritation; whatever he'd thought of the frei before, it was al wiped clear now and replaced with bright bold red letters: OBNOXIOUS. If only Riv knew for sure that it was a boy or a girl... Then he'd know how to react. Punch in the face? Or just a cold shoulder? He'd have to settle for the cold shoulder for now.

Ignoring both arrogant and annoying Frei, Rivener turned to Alex and sighed, actually managing to look contrite. "Sorry Alex. My temper got the best of me." He'd offer no excuses, no Varun was on my team and shot me! or Prajna's being a haughty, snobby b***h!... Alex was right, Rivener was the elder out of them and should have held himself in check. "I'll just go, then. Sorry to you too Laz." But there'd be no apology for the two brats, that's for damned sure.

Before he could be cornered into offering said apology, Rivener floated away from the gathered group, passing by Eiry and giving the other Sigel a pat on the shoulder. "Looks like you'll have to find some other game, bro. No more yelling here."

Ugh, Riv was frustrated now. Both at himself and at Prajna and Varun... Usually he'd go to Zul for comfort, but with their current tiff... Hm, maybe now would be as good a time as any to try and make up. Red eyes scoured the sand for the familiar demon, hoping he'd be alone and ready to talk.

Aphismet grinned at the praise the vegetable kabob garnered from Lucia's guardian. The chef had to admit he found it rather tasty too... Maybe he could sneak some vegetables into the pickier members of his family and friends if he prepared it like this. He made a mental note, so he'd remember to check later.

Yuurei asked if he wanted a drink, seeing as she was headed to the bar. Aphismet's smile broadened and he shook his head, motioning to the hollow coconut nearby. "Very kind of you, but no thanks, I'm still nursing this one."

Aphi watched the blonde walk away and snatched his gaze back before it wandered too low, blushing lightly. Wah, all these women in bathing suits were starting to wear on the white-haired man's self-control. He supposed he should seek out the one he WAS allowed to ogle: Alex. She was currently negotiating amongst a gaggle of Raevans, and Riv was moving away? Guh. Aphi sighed, slightly embarrassed. He should probably have been keeping a closer eye on Rivener...

The Italian sighed irritably. "It's not about not fighting, Prajna, it's about not acting like a petulant child over a game." Alex was not actually stupid enough to believe the androgynous Frei would never pick another fight with Rivener, or vise-versa. The two seemed to have some sort of bad blood, anyone could see that. The woman briefly glanced at the sky as she felt a quick snap of cool breeze on her skin - huh, that couldn't be good! - before looking at the four again. "Look, I'll make this simple. Disperse or you wont be getting an invitation to the next event." She had faith in the Raevans that they weren't just children - but this one, she thought as she looked at the bratty red-head, she may have to make an exception for.

The Raevans may have free roam at home, their Guardians may be lax, but Alex was not. She was not swayed by the 'pretty' or 'handsomeness' they seemed to have, nor would she allow them to endanger each other - and others - by being so selfish. Making a mental note to check in on Namini and Kinsey to make sure they weren't dead with such rowdy Frei's, she knew the Sigel's would have to go home with her and were not so lucky...

Before she could tell Prajna to let go, Rivener acted and withdrew from the two, complete with--an apology?! Ghosting her hand over the Scorpion's arm as he left in her own silent apology - she had been mistaken about the instigators, it would seem - she scoured the oceanside for her charge, picking him out with Lucia and Ty. Giving a rueful smile to herself, she left the gathered, the wind tugging at her leg-cover as she crossed the white sands.

"Swimming...?" the demon echoed in a sort of distorted tone. Oh yes. He'd certainly tried to swim. "I can't." Zul looked towards the man that Lucia was excitedly introducing him to, smiling suddenly and bowing his head. His woman had mentioned that this man had helped Lucia, something about being at the house while they were gone, but he could appreciate the sentiment all the same. "Nice to meet you," he greeted Ty with the formalness he'd been taught. "Thank you for taking care of Lucia." Again, Zul bowed his tri-horned head in gratitude. They may have been family, but he knew that didn't entitle help. He was appreciative.

And this guy had an accent! Zul was curious, but any inquiry he would have posed was instantly quelled; at the mention of surfing, he gave a wane smile and a slight shake of his head, turning his eyes wistfully over the waves. "I wish I could swim," he said in a slow, almost embarrassed manner, "but my rune...it, ah, reacts to water." The demon pulled his eyes from the waves down to the rune that lit up his ribbon, quirking his lips in dismay. He would have showed them what he meant, but he saw his woman coming near with something in her hands.

It was simply ocean water, but Alex couldn't pass up the chance. Splashing her hands against Ty's back, she peered around him with a crooked grin. "How's the water, sport?" she teased, using her wet hands to try and take off some of the paint on the Aussie. "Yikes, maybe you should really go take a gander, huh?" Giving him a kind smile, she turned her attention to Lucia for a moment. "Hello dear, you look wonderful!" Green eyes flicked to Zul as she tilted her chin up towards the parking lot. "Jez is here, she's on the phone but she'll be ready in a minute. You good to go?"

"Ah." Now that the moment had arrived, Zul found that he didn't really want to go just yet. The demon found some sense of irony in it, but with an apologetic smile to the Kitten and Ty, he hugged the Frei and gave her a fond look. "I have to go now. Enjoy the rest of your day - it was really good to see you." Extracting himself from the three, he offered Ty a 'nice to meet you' again before floating down the ocean, turning his blue eyes up towards the lot. He could see her car, the dark-skinned woman leaning against it lifting her hand to wave and point to her phone, to which Zul simply nodded. She needed a minute. That was fine.

Turning his eyes out over the ocean one last time, he almost wished...that he and his woman still lived at that cliffside house where he sunbathed the days away and played in the water when they had visitors. Zul missed the distant roar of the ocean, feeling that the marsh-house was too quiet, and would possibly be even more so, with Rivener's odd attitude...

"Sorry about that," she said to the two she was still with as the demon floated away, giving Ty another good natured swat against his arm. "Just had to make sure he didn't lose track of time. Speaking of!" Alex squinted to the sky, then towards the Popsicle stand, quirking her lips. "Gotta get back to work and make sure the other event gets a move on - just in case Mother Nature wants to join in the festivities." With an enthusiastic wave, the Italian turned and bounded up the sand towards her booth, all smiles once again. Despite the little hang up of ill-mannered Frei's, the day was still promising to end on a good note.
