User Image"I'm telling you Ranka, we should do something. You know the Elders would want us-"

User Image"No, they wouldn't. It would go against what the headmaster is telling us to do. Unless they ask us for help, we should stay here and try to help others keep calm." Ranka replied softly, crimson eye glancing around the crowded cafeteria. As more people came in, she noticed the nurse levitating one student in and laying him on the table. A telepath? She wasn't allowed to wonder about it long for Sheryl had to respond.

Dammit, she was right. "But the seal... doesn't yours feel weird too? And seriously whose going to listen to us?" She asked, blinking as something had grabbed her sisters attention besides the nurse. "What, what is it?" She asked, glancing around, brows furrowing as there were so many bodies piled together it was hard to get an accurate reading on anyone's specific life energy.

Ranka pointed to where she was looking, not initially moving. "Seiji." She answered, watching the boy move through the crowd. Raising a hand, her eye flashed, giving a tug to his spirit. She didn't remove it or anything, she was just doing something similar to her sister. At least spirits were easier to distinguish in this case. Hopefully that would grab his attention, if not, it was no big deal. Their area remained somewhat clear considering, her scythe probably causing them to want to keep some distance.
PostPosted: Thu May 27, 2010 4:58 pm

User ImageSeiji could hear the whispers of some people. The chatter was enough to fill the area and keep anyone from eavesdropping. Not that it matter, anything that Seiji did manage to hear wasn't of any help. Everyone was either talking about their day thus far, seemingly unconcerned with what was happening. Or had no clue about what was going on anyway.

Seiji kept his eyes on his Dite, no longer moving about through the crowd. Though his attention was torn from the Dite when he felt the tug again. His Kei flared for a moment, colouring his outline purple. As his eyes rose from the Dite, he noticed a few people were watching him, as if expecting something to happen or for him to make a move of some sort. Ignoring them, Seiji began to look about. He'd felt that sensation before, only this time is felt different, like it was tugging at his very core. Which meant it was likely that Sheryl was around somewhere, or perhaps it'd been Ranka this time. That made sense, after all the announcement had said that all students were to proceed to the cafeteria.

As his eyes searched the area around him, Seiji began to wonder where the twins were. If they were here, it was likely that they were together. After a few moments of scanning the crowd, Seiji finally noticed the two. He felt silly for not having seen them sooner. They had a nice little area to themselves, or so it looked. Pushing his way through the crowd once more, he managed to reach the two without too much difficulty.

"Hey," Seiji waved as he reached them, stepping out into their little clearing. "What's going on, it seems something pretty serious." For once, the young man's face was absent of a smile. If the academy was being attacked, whoever was doing the attacking had to be confident. The school had all sorts of students with formidable abilities. "No one can tell me anything." Seiji gripped his Dite tighter, his mind still racing with questions.

User ImageIgnoring her sisters frown, she held up a hand and waved a little, but it still seemed robotic. At least she was learning. Sort of. "It's something made of darkness. Cloud, orb, it seems to change." She started to answer, hearing a screech come from outside. The mermaids again it sounded like. "I don't know more than that. The ghosts are concerned, a couple felt like they recognized some signature of the thing, but they weren't sure. They didn't say more than that." She added, turning her one eye to him, adjusting her eyepatch a bit to ensure her other eye was covered.

User ImageNow that made Sheryl grimace, giving a small shrug. "I have no idea. But if the spirits are saying that, maybe it's something that attacked before? Or perhaps a former student?" She offered, glancing around. Dammit. All she could see was light in front of her, wincing a little. She was restless, and she guessed it had something to do with the fact her senses were getting overloaded. She wanted to twist the energy to calm everyone down, but she felt her seal tingling, grimacing as she gripped her gun impatiently.

"I don't know. The ghosts are looking for suspicious people. Apparently Atlas told a student to keep an eye out for them." Ranka answered simply, glancing between the two of them. She kept her voice low so as not to alarm anyone that was near them, her hands remaining at her sides.
PostPosted: Thu May 27, 2010 5:33 pm

User ImageWell, that somewhat cleared up the matter of what was happening. It didn't make things any better though. Seiji still didn't understand. They were being attacked but something, that much was obviously. But why? He sighed, looking about for a moment. He couldn't see anything out of the ordinary. Then again that was probably the point. If you someone were attacking and they were already on campus, they wouldn't want to stick out.

"Seems like more trouble. But if whatever, or whoever is doing this is around, then they'll want to stay unnoticed. It would be easier that way for them. So it won't be a simple task to spot them," Seiji commented, glancing to his Dite. "Still, having all these students gathered in one area...I'm not so sure it's a good idea. Easier to locate someone, but on the same note it's just as easy to launch another attack. Everyone is in one spot."

Seiji couldn't help but feel nervous. He was certain he would be fine if an attack arose, but some students had quirks and capabilities rather than powers suited for battle. If something were to happen here and now, someone would end up injured. There were simply too many targets here for it not to happen. Whatever was attacking, if it wanted another distraction or diversion this cafeteria would be the perfect spot. Looking between Sheryl and Ranka, Seiji had to wonder what the purpose of this attack was.

"Be careful I guess...other than keeping alert and looking for anything or anyone suspicious, we really can't do much else. Not while we're supposed to be gathered here and waiting."

User ImageRanka nodded once, not sure what she was supposed to be looking for otherwise she may be able to pick out the specific spirit of the perpetrators. Brushing some of her white hair from her eyes, her expression remained as impassive as always, scanning the room. "That is a good point. And many aren't combat ready." She murmured, turning to her sister who was obviously very uncomfortable.

User ImageSheryl grimaced, showing the discomfort they both were feeling. She knew her sister wouldn't show it. She didn't know how to, not clearly. "Yeah... If only there was a damned empath. Everyone's energy is pulsating, it's giving me headaches. If only there weren't-" She felt the grip on her arm from Ranka, falling silent as she just lowered her eyes. After another deep breath, she turned to head for a door, "I can't stay here."

She almost said too much. They really weren't supposed to talk about the seals placed upon their powers, letting go when her sister fell silent. Though, once she turned to go, Ranka stepped forward and blocked her path. "They are overloading your senses. Think of it like a trial back home." That seemed to help her a little bit, at least getting Sheryl to sit down on the floor and begin to meditate, now raising her eye as she relaxed. She hadn't seemed tense before, but in reality she had been.
PostPosted: Thu May 27, 2010 6:13 pm

User ImageSeiji had forgotten about Sheryl's abilities. Ranka seemed to be fine, but being around so many people, it was clearly tasking for Sheryl. Seiji began to worry about the results if anything did happen. The students were going to be in an even greater panic then. Would she be alright? It was a shame that they didn't know the current situation. Seiji himself was mostly in the dark about what was happening. Asides from what Ranka had shared with him, he was clueless.

"If something does happen, it's likely that everyone will scatter. From that point on, many are going to flee and move into an 'everyone for themselves' state of mind." It was something Seiji had seen before. Travelling about and seeing new things didn't always mean seeing good things. In bad situations, unless someone managed control over the student body, things would only get worse. You could only take so many people and put them in one area for so long. Especially without telling them anymore than 'You're in danger.' Eventually, someone would cause a ruckus.

Tense fingers ran through Seiji's course black hair. Something would have to be done sooner or later. He was simply glad that things still seemed to be incontrol for now. But he was also frusterated that he didn't know what was actually happening, and for that matter he had never liked feeling helpless. He would like to do something to help rather than standing around waiting to be attacked, or hearded to some 'safer' area like another sheep.

"Regardless of what happens, if we can managed to keep everyone calm then things should be okay. If they become restless, things will only be worse," Seiji said, trying to keep his own nerves calm. Glancing to Ranka he smiled lightly, looking to Sheryl next. "Unless we venture outside, the only thing we can really do now is to wait."

She helped more students, drifting a bit farther away from the lake, now that students were safely into the cafeteria. She waited there, now walking towards the lake to ward off the mermaids and whatever might have come out of the lake. So far it was only the mermaids, wating for night time so they could get out of the waters. Soon teachers joined her and sortly after all of them were there, Atlas came as well, bringing Syon along with him, the giant thudding on the earth as he came towards them, standing by Elly and patting her on the head very gently. "I've safely gotten everyone to the cafeteria, I hope that the announcement I made wasn't too out of line..." she said, bowing in apology. She was definately more formal than she was with just Atlas, when she was infront of the entire staff.

User Image
Atlas put a hand up to silence her, smiling his winning smile. "I am glad that you thought to do that, Elly. It told the students to get to safety and not to worry at all. I'm proud of you. But right now its not about pride. We need to protect the students and the school and there are a few places that I think they would go, whoever they are. I need a few of you, Elly, Mr. Smith, Zooger; you three stay out here, I trust you with dealing with whatever comes out of there. A few others will come with me, I cannot speak of the other places in such an open area..." he told them and Elly agreed, the outside, barrier or not, could have devices that pick up on these other places. It was safer in a blocked off area, probably in the training rooms or in his office. Naturally Syon was out there with them, too big for anything else anyways. Elly climbed up ontop of him, his head as tall and the trees in the forrest.

The lake down below continued to ripple as more and more mermaids started to appear. Elly noticed the one from the other night at the front with an evil smile on. She frowned at it as others started to string their bows with coral arrows and started throwing spears. The other two teachers deflected them, Mr. Smith an expert at barriers and absorbing things, only to mirror them back at their opponent in which he did at the arrows, having the barrier act as a mirror and once penitrated by the arrow, it was sent right back out, though in the direction it came from. Zooger, an earth teacher, brought up the earth in pillars and used rocks to throw at the mermaids once they tried using projectile weapons. Elly did what she could too, using teleportation and portals to do what Mr. Smith did. She even used the staff of light she had to brighten it at the mermaids, since they didnt approve of it to begin with. Syon would shout every now and then to warn them, his shouts like thunder, rippling across the forrest.

User ImageRanka merely nodded once, again. "And thus some will be trampled in the process. It'd be like a stampeding herd trapped in a small space." She murmured, tilting her head a little. She sensed something odd, but it was just a bit far to tell clearly. Multiple spirits gathering. She started to reach a hand to her scythe but decided against it, not wanting to startle anyone.

Looking to a window, she saw the last of the students come in, noticing two others running to where she could sense three out by the lake. There was possibly a fourth, but he certainly felt odd. She was distracted when Seiji spoke, tilting her head a little at his smile. "We shouldn't venture out. If one of us leaves without explanation, it could cause a problem." Moving a little closer to him, her chin cleared his shoulder, leaning close to his ear without looking too obvious. "The mermaids in the lake are moving. I can tell three or four are keeping them at bay outside, and they seem to be doing fine. There were more there before, but they seemed to have left with Atlas. I don't know where they are going, but one concern would be the mermaids." Tilting her head, her one visible eye glanced in the direction of the lake as if to confirm something before she lowered her gaze again. "There's one there that seems to be attempting to join them. Another is coming here to keep an eye on us since he has nothing better to do."

User ImageHaving a sensory ability like theirs must come in handy, Seiji thought to himself as Ranka gave this information. It meant that those outside were taking action, rather than just standing about. Even if that were true though, Seiji still felt like he was simply standing around waiting for something aweful to happen. What was the attacker's purpose to all this? He sighed to himself, trying to forget about it for a moment.

"Well, I guess we had better stay inside then. If we can help keep people calm all the better. If we are attacked here, they won't have far to go to flee. There are exits on all sides. Which makes it slightly easier on us I guess." Seiji was really just trying to keep himself logical instead of jumping to conclusions. While it did work slightly, he was still worried. Even Ranka knew the dangers if the student body were thrown into panic.

It was a bit more of a relief knowing that someone else was headed this way to watch over the students. Even if Seiji wished he could help, it's true he didn't know what those outside were up against. Ranka had mentioned mermaids, and even with his abilities, Seiji couldn't exactly combat the water creatures. Land base melee combat was his specialty. Nodding once, Seiji reached up and almost placed his hand on Ranka's shoulder in gratitude for this information. Though stopped himself a few inches before doing so. He wasn't exactly sure if it was a good idea. He couldn't be sure of how she would react, or if there might be any effects to physical contact.

"Erm....right. Thanks." Seiji said, smiling lightly as he retracted his hand. "That just means it may be a bit easier to keep the crowds under control. If a staff member, or someone of authority is headed this way then it means they have the current situation under control. Or, are dealing with it anyway. Hopefully if we stay put nothing else will happen and we won't have to get involved. So long as the cafeteria stays a safe zone that is." Seiji was still dreading the thought of an attack on the cafeteria. No matter how much he pushed the thought from his mind, it always seemed to resurface as a certain possibility.

User ImageRanka nodded once and took a step back, shifting the weight of her scythe on her back. It didn't really bother her, but it had been slipping to one side. Nodding once, she tilted her head a little, wondering if he was having trouble keeping calm like the others. Honestly she felt quite at peace. Though... then the Elder's words popped in her head and she briefly lowered her eye.

Ignoring it for the moment, she blinked, noticing him about to touch her shoulder. Tilting her head a little, she didn't understand the gesture, blinking twice as he stopped and retracted his hand instead. "You're welcome." She murmured, his smile smoothing out the gesture. Did he not want to touch her? Why was he going to in the first place? Was he only going to pat her on the shoulder like she had noticed a teacher doing to a student once.

She listened to him and just touched his arm lightly. "I don't think the students will panic. All have to take a combat class and so should know to keep their heads. Most are just talking about whats going on." She said softly, moving her hand away from him.

User ImageTristan flew outside and hovered in the ground, observing what was going on outside. He noticed that Vira was lingering behind on a rooftop, but he knew she could handle herself. Especially since these were water creatures. You better stay safe. Floating back into the staff building, he passed Eda and floated down to her, seeing she had grabbed something from her infirmary. "Would you like an escort doctor?" He asked, glancing back towards the lake. Yeah, they were fine for the moment. He forced his eyes to not linger on Elly, hell, she definitely would be fine. At least unless someone forced her darkness.

User ImageLooking up, Eda smirked, twirling a small knife in her hand. "Sure. At least to ensure your fine." She called, the two of them hurrying to the cafeteria. As they stepped inside, she chuckled and shook her head. "Can't solidify right now?"

"Nah, not at all." He spoke, blinking as some students looked up at the two of them. So many seemed uneasy, and yet there remained the percentage that seemed to hold a strained calm. He let them talk to their Nurse since she was a staff member and thus reassuring in some way. He wondered about the darkness, remembering the files vaguely that he and Elly looked at. Frowning a bit, he floated up to the ceiling, appearing to be a darker smokey sort of ghost like figure. His eyes were glowing a purple, his powers amplified since such a strong thing of darkness was nearby. Blinking, he saw the girl from his class with her sister and a new student, raising an eyebrow since he was curious, but he didn't go bother them. Crossing his legs, he sighed heavily, trying to not let the darker things in his mind whisper things to him.

User ImageVira was lingering behind on a rooftop, hiding from view by laying down on it. Just her eyes popped out over the ledge. So far no one had noticed she was there which was good. She didn't want to go back in. The water spirits were too restless around her and she didn't want to end up lashing out by accident because of them. Holding out her two hands, a wind spirit seemed to extend into one sword, a water spirit the other.

Rising up to her feet, she jumped down and deflected an arrow from Elly, landing lightly on the ground. "Er, please don't yell at me!" She called, spinning her two swords like fans, patches of winds knocking aside the arrows as they drew close. They fell harmlessly to the ground, a pillar of water shooting out from the lake to catch a spear. It froze and clattered to the ground, shattering upon impact.

User ImageThat was comforting. The students should all know what to do in this situation. Staying calm was easier said than done, but if combat classes were a requirement of sorts, then it should be fine. That eased a bit of trouble from Seiji's mind. Though for some reason he was still feeling anxious. Though what was there to be anxious about? Maybe it was just his former life setting it, he felt like he should be doing something other than standing here waiting to be told what to do. Having the freedom to travel about and do as he pleased must have taken a larger tole on him than he had thought.

Feeling her hand lightly on his arm, Seiji glanced to her pale skin, watching her fingers for a moment before looking to her face again. He shouldn't have been so foolish. Just because she had control over spirits and the like didn't mean physical contact was not possible. He felt silly just for thinking the thought. He nodded once more and gave Ranka a reassuring smile.

"Well, that's good. But like everyone else around us, I have to wonder, why attack the academy? There's a reason behind every action, whether it be a good or bad reason. I guess it's just my curiousity wanting to be satisfied," Seiji mumbled, rubbing his neck for a moment. He fingers still wrapped tightly around his Dite. "It was just so sudden. So I thought that maybe there might be something to it. So far it's been decently quiet asides from the announcement and the initial movement. Here on the inside, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference if we weren't told otherwise." It was almost too quiet where the students were. Maybe he was just over analyzing things. Maybe it was simply that the staff were doing such a good job of keeping everything under control.

User ImageShe almost didn't understand his smile, but she got the inkling he understood it was fine to touch her. Was that why he hadn't? Ignoring such things for the moment, she shook her head a little. She had no idea of knowing. Glancing around again, she noticed the wraith boy on the ceiling. As odd as it sounded, his spirit felt troubled. Turning her eyes back down from the ceiling, she looked to Seiji's grey eyes, "It was definitely premeditated. He seems to know something..." She murmured softly, turning her eye up to the wraith boy again. Tugging on the wraith boys essence, since he was already in his wraith form it was much easier to tug on him.

User ImageTristan wasn't allowed to dwell too long in his thoughts, suddenly feeling himself get tugged down towards the girl from his class. Oi oi... Flying down to them, his brows were knitted as he was confused. "Ok, what did you just do? And if it was a ploy for my attention, why?" He asked, glancing to the little trio.

Ranka was glad to see him come down, looking levelly at him. "I tugged on your spirit. My name is Ranka, this is Seiji. The girl in the corner meditating is my twin Sheryl. You seem troubled. Do you have an idea of whats going on or why?" She asked softly, her crimson eye resting upon the boy.

Ok, her name was Ranka. He nodded to Seiji, taking a small breath to soothe his nerves a bit. He was on edge and he should probably calm down. His lips thinned into a line, sighing heavily. "Ok, so, this could be a collaboration of three people or just one. Elly, er, she's the one who made the announcement," He started, waving a hand to the tiny detail "and I looked over some files of former students that could be behind this. Two were darkness users, the other was a vampire. The two were brothers, one able to use the darkness to confuse people. Like turning a student against their teacher. His younger brother's darkness is unstable so he relies on his sibling. The vampire girl specializes in morphing and manipulation. I don't know why they want to attack the school, but thats who it probably is." He answered with a light sigh, exhaling slowly.

User ImageDespite having already seen a few things, it was odd to see the spectral form lower to greet them. Seiji had expected him to ignore them and move on. Then again, if he was very spiritual in form, he couldn't exactly ignore Ranka. If she wanted his attention she would have it. Although as he and Ranka started to converse, it seemed they knew each other. He didn't seem too outraged at Ranka's action. Which was definitely a good thing. Seiji nodded in return after Ranka had introduced him, they continued on with their conversation.

Seiji listened carefully, so whoever was behind this was after something. At the moment it just seemed like they didn't know what that soemthing was. According to the spectre it was possible there were three culprits. In esscense, it could be one of these dark users, judging from the events that had already happened, this seemed more liekly. If the head master had done something to prevent one of these attacks, then it had to be the more experienced dark user. Or if all three were working together, than the dark user was the first to strike thus far. Seiji had dealt with vampires of sorts in the past. No vampire he had ever dealt with had the ability to cause civil unrest. Not in this matter anyway.

Thinking on the situation more clearly, it certainly seemed likely that the attacks so far were the work of the older sibling, according to what the wraith had told them. A vampire would have to work much more diligently to cause any panic. An open attack on a student or staff, not a ranged attack from a hidden location. A vampire Seiji could deal with. Even with a vampire's supernatural abilities, his own Psyharden traits could counter the vampire. That much he was sure of. As for the darkness users, Seiji had never truely come upon something of that nature. He assumed any physical strikes would not be too difficult for him to handle, but a mental attack might be a different situation. If they used darkness to confuse their enemies, then he'd have to use as much Kei as possible if either of the siblings showed. The glow from his Kei wasn't exactly blinding, but it would illuminate his surroundings enough for Seiji to defend himself.

"Okay then," Seiji chimed in. "So, from everything that's been going on so far, it seems safe to say that at least one of the darkness users is here now, attacking from somewhere. Now the question remains as to whether or not the other sibling and the vampire are around. If they are, then why haven't they attacked as well? Could this first wave of attacks been a simple diversion for their true cause? Which I guess brings up another question, what are they after?" Seiji couldn't help but to continue to ask this question to himself over and over. Obviously it was in the academy somewhere, but what was it? or maybe, who?
