((Marcus is the owner, sorry to be your censor.))

Marcus spoke up, at that, nodding.
"It's a common act... You sit idle, and let the other faction cross the same lines you have been, only you don't tip your hand, and they do. Both of you are wrong, but you like better doing it."

((Noted. Thanks.))
"Pfft. Maybe for some people. I prefer honesty. All the stuff I talk to are completely honest. The inanimate don't have the capacity to lie. It would make my life simpler if people were inanimate too." She brushed a stray dread off her shoulder and re tied her bundle in the back of her head. "Damn things keep getting out of this band." she mutters to herself.

"People are funny that way, Maya. I wish I could offer more to you than that tidbit." Marcus replied, walking to the kitchen and preparing himself some tea, "Would anyone like tea or something to drink?"

The moment the tray of dumplings hit the table, one of them had already disappeared in his mouth. The whole dumpling. Though he had planned on resisting the urge to scarf down like the dirty street urchin he was, the aroma of the food made it hard for him to not grab ungratefully. He chewed furiously on the morsel and rolled his eyes in ecstasy. he had never had dumplings before in his life but was loving them. His hand shot for another dumpling and he forced it to return to his side. He chewed fast and swallowed hard before speaking his silent "Sorry."

Back in control of himself, though still wanting a dumpling, Tyson looked over the table at the door. his throat was starting to tingle from him forcing it to make sounds and felt a bit safer showing the woman his power in action.

A patron walked in, and with him came the rushing exchange of air that occurs when it's cold in one place and warm in another. As the door first cracked open, Tyson took in a long breath and then held it until the door closed again. Then, using his fingers, steered the air close to the ceiling down past the the woman's arm and then made it spin around the the bowl. for a few seconds the bowl did nothing, but finally it started to spin slowly. he made the bowl spin almost one complete time before he had to let his breath out. The air around the bowl dispersed from all sides, making it feel like someone had just opened a window from the booth to the woman.

Tyson grabbed his neck and rubbed it to indicate that talking was beginning to hurt his throat, but stated quickly, "I can control moving air. I can gather it when I breath in, and launch it as I breath out if I choose. The air has to be moving for me to control it, and i have to breath in if i want to change it's speed." He paused. "That's it."

The woman watched his approach to the dumplings with a soft smile, that almost seemed as if she was familiar with the feeling of hunger herself, though she decided to refrain from commenting.

She watched his power display and nodded, a rather mundane reaction to the unusual. She was well familiar with powers, though didn't have any of her own. "So you have been touched it seems. I hope it doesn't drag you too deeply into this mess." She paused, knowing that he was already well dragged in. "My name is Mae, the man in the water was....a good friend." Her eyes betrayed that he had been more than a friend, but the waver in her voice kept her from saying more.

Roxanna snacked on a handful of pistachios that she had swiped from the kitchen, walking back into the main room to listen in on the conversations. "If you intend to go, I'd suggest leaving soon." Her eyes drifted to the coach a moment. "Unless any of you are afraid to get involved."

"Can you give us a report on how the others are doing, first? Once we leave, it's gonna be hard to get backup for either of us."

Roxanna smiled, "They were doing fine a moment ago. Jarred met up with Sam and Kat. They seem a formidable enough group, but if you'd like I can go climb back into the water and check again in a few minutes."

"Do that, please, while we make a hard copy of the list to take with us and get ready. It'd help put my mind at ease, at least."

Tyson glanced at the woman before turning his head towards the table. Then he said in tone that seemed even more straight forward and hollow than usual, even though that was the tone he always had, "Don't sour what was sweet. He was more than that to you. I can tell by the tone. Don't treat it like it was anything less than what it really was."

Tyson's face tensed up as if he were about to tear up as well. Thoughts of his parents came rushing back to him. He forced himself to calm down and continued. "Cry now. Get angry after. Think clearly when you aren't numb." He looked up at the woman. "If you don't, you'll only be sad now, angry after, and numb for the rest of your life." He took in a long sip of air. When he released it, it came out in short shudders. "Don't be like me."

Mae opened her mouth to respond, but closed it again. Her dark eyes moved away from him and glanced at a plastic tree in a red pot. "I told him not to. It could have been someone else, being the person on the inside, but he was one of those that liked to be the hero. They always end up dead, the heroes."

She glanced back at Tyson, recognizing for a moment a kindred pain. She was curious, but didn't ask. Some wounds were best kept closed.

"Bring more dumplings for the boy, Mae. He is like bone and canvas." An older man walked out from the back room. He took a long look at Tyson, his head tilting in a strange bobbing motion like a dashboard decoration, his eyes the same dark color as Mae's. "You found the body, yes?"

Roxanna chuckled slightly and started heading back toward the bathroom, "If it puts you at ease."

She came back out about five minutes later, the look on her face no longer relaxed. "Keepers got to their target house first. There was a nasty explosion it seems...which included Marcus's SUV, but they all seem to be a live. They're making a run for it at the moment."

Marcus sighed, shaking his head.
"We need to find them, then. And get them with the rest of us. If the Keepers got there first, and Kat found the child... The Keepers are going to be after them, as well."

"They're fine at the moment...." Roxanna glanced out the window and paled slightly. "At least they were fine. There is no way I can listen to anything with the rain falling like that. Not unless they're somewhere inside. "

Rook turned to Marcus, his expression clearly worried.
"I say we go find them. That rainfall... It might be the Keepers..." HE turned to Roxanna, "Do they know what your power is? If they knew, this weather wizard might be there to keep you from listening in."

Roxanna shook her head. "They may have an idea of me, but they don't know the extent or details of my powers. However....a weather witch would not be theirs. At least I don't think. Depending on the capabilities, the weather witch would be far too powerful."

Tyson looked up at the older man, and from the face and features figures this had to be Mae's father. Taking another dumpling in hand, he was about to answer him verbally, but his throat felt like it was about to peel from the inside out from using his power so much. So he simply nodded to man. He held his hand up and formed it to look like he was holding a glass and made a motion asking for a drink. He then popped the next dumpling in his mouth.
