Flash had ended up getting most of Kasiya's fruit, but it didn't bother her too much as it made her happy to see the Jolteon happy. She heard the cafeteria door open again and again, and each time she looked over she'd be disappointed, so eventually she just stopped, only half-paying attention to what Kilik and Mitsu were saying as she sipped her chocolate milk. Flash, on the other hand, had a pretty good idea of what to look for so the Jolteon kept watch, his ears perking right up when he spotted an especially dour-looking redhead enter the cafeteria, though he had to take a second glance as he didn't recognize either of the Pokemon with him. Flash whimpered a bit and nudged Kasiya's arm to get her attention. It took a few tries but the girl finally looked up at the Electric-type. "What's up, Flash?" she asked tiredly, before following the Jolteon's gaze across the room, though by this point her quarry was already balancing his tray and headed out the door, and though she didn't recognize the Pokemon with him, she'd know that bright, red hair and gait anywhere. "Keegan? Hey, isn't he even gonna...?" she mumbled, standing up slowly. "Uh, please excuse me guys," she said, bowing apologetically as she grabbed her empty dishes, practically throwing them on the counter as she dashed outside after the redhead, Flash on her heels. I bet they won't mind the alone time anyway, she thought with a slight smirk as she stepped out into the morning sunshine.

Squinting a little as her eyes adjusted to the light, Kasiya looked around quickly, though it didn't take her long to find him. Flash trotted along at her side, not really sure what to expect. She stopped in front of him and put her hands on her hips. "You know, breakfast is the most important meal of the day," she said simply, deciding to keep the conversation simple for now, as he looked a little, well, worse for wear.

"Well if you're both sure," Jaeshan nodded as he carefully picked up the somewhat tired Kakuna. "You're up then, Squirtle," he said, wondering if it would be wise to avoid using Water-type attacks on the Fire-type Cyndaquil. Squirtle eagerly hopped forward, rubbing his hands together as he eyed Eris. His trainer had said they were training, so did that mean he wasn't supposed to try his hardest? He frowned at the thought, a little unsure of the situation. Jaeshan mulled over Squirtle's abilities in his mind, thinking he should also avoid having Squirtle use his new Dig and Ice Beam abilities too. "Okay Squirtle, start off with Bubble," he said finally. Bubble was a fairly weak attack, and was easily a better choice than Squirtle's Aqua Jet. Well, if she wants to keep practicing Eris' dodging ability, I guess this would be the best way to go, Jaeshan thought.

Squirtle nodded and jumped up, his cheeks puffing up a little before he released a stream of bubbles in the young Cyndaquil's direction. Training or not, he would make Jaeshan proud, as it was the least he could do after the human had gone out of his way to save him.

They pulled into the little harbor effortlessly, Sam jumping off to tie the bumpers on so they wouldn't damage the boat. Star jumped in the water next to the boat, floating in calm waves near the shore. Sam turned to Christopher.

"I want to thank you. You were very generous and kind, even after I was so nasty to you. Good luck with your secret," she said, as she winked. He bowed deeply.

"My pleasure, mademoiselle. I hope you get your name cleared." He put the craft in reverse, and started backing away slowly. Suddenly Sam's dad came huffing up, out of breath from his run across the beach.

"Hey! Wait up there! Who are you, and what were you doing with my daughter? I'll have you know I'm in good with Officer Jeny, and if you did anything to my little girl, I will have you arrested!" Sam winced at her dad's arrogant bluntness. Christopher took it gracefully though.

"My sincere apologies. She got lost trying to valiantly save her sweet Marshtomp. I helped her out by giving her time to rest while I sent my Dragonair off to save the poor Pokemon. She needed a ride back, so I offered my services." Her dad's eyes narrowed, and his face slowly turned red. Sam rushed forward, and hugged her dad, trying to get him to leave it alone and back away. He persisted though.

"Your services? Just what were you doing on that side of the island anyhow? Were you stalking my baby? You just so happened to be where she was?"

"Dad, stop it. He did really help me out, I was getting sucked into the riptide. Leave him alone." Her dad's eyes immediately softened at his daughter's request. He couldn't resist his baby girl.

"Fine Goose. I believe you." He looked back at Christopher. "I guess I should thank you. But don't push it." He put his hand on Sam's shoulder. "Don't come back around here, or at least near my Sam. Got it?"

"Of course, sir. I wouldn't want to make you uncomfortable." Christopher backed the ship up again, and was soon speeding off to the new Safari Zone. Sam's father watched him go. She tugged on his shirt, like a 4 year-old.

"Daddy, we have to go to the police. They think I stole a pokemon last night." Her dad looked at her as if she were crazy, then staggered back.

"What? Why didn't you tell me?!"

"Well, I didn't know! Christopher told me. Wait...where's Miles and Devlin?!"

"With your mother."

"Where's Mom?!"

"I don't know. I left her at the Pokemon Center. She wanted to feed your little baby Murkrow." Sam stared, then ran for the Center.

"What if the police are there? And you left Mom alone with my pokemon?!" she yelled back to her Dad, who was standing confused at the Harbor. Sam shook her head. 'My days just get better and better...' she thought sarcastically.

================

"Xipil, Smog!" Xipil, using what little breath she had, exhaled the poisonous cloud around the Lickitung's head. It coughed a few times, but it held on tightly. Xipil struggled against the paralyzing saliva, but it completely covered her. It nearly hardened, effectively paralyzing Xipil. Eztli frowned slightly.

"Supersonic, Lickitung!" Bright blue circles that brought a harsh piercing noise came from the Lickitung's mouth, and they surrounded Xipil, who cried out in pain. She didn't seem to be confused though. 'I wonder what other moves it knows...As far as I can remember, it has a fairly limited movepool,' Eztli thought to herself. But seeing as Xipil was still stuck in the Licking Pokemon's tongue, she didn't have much she could do.

"Xipil, Smog again!" Obviously the Lickitung wasn't one to let go easily, so Eztli could only hope that if it got posioned it would let go out of reflex. Xipil exhaled another purple cloud. This time it stuck more solidly, and Eztli was hopeful. The Lickitung turned a sickly purple color. Eztli smiled slightly. 'Status effects....you hate them, then you love them.' The Lickitung reflexively brought it's tongue back in, and Eztli took advantage.

"Xipil, Ember quick!" Xipil exhaled a torrent of flames that hit the Lickitung in it's face. It cried out in pain, and released Xipil from it's grasp. Xipil tried to jump backwards out of reach, but the paralysis caught her mid-stride. She strained against it, but it had her locked down. The Lickitung recovered from the flames, and reached out again with it's 6 foot tongue. It winced as the posion sapped it's health, but it didn't stop. "Xipil, quicky turn around and use Mach Punch." Xipil drew on her speed, and managed to flip around and out of the way. However, she couldn't manage to land the quick punch.

"Lickitung, Lick it again!" Eztli was confused, and saw a glimmer of hope. If the Lickitung was using Lick again, it couldn't have a very large movepool.

"Xipil, dodge it!" Unfortunately the paralysis had reduced Xipil's speed to only a quarter of what it previously was, and had no way to get out of the way in time. The Lickitung's thick pink tongue licked Xipil's body from her feet up, even lifting her off the ground a few feet. Xipil fell back, thouroughly disgusted and annoyed. She hated being paralyzed, she couldn't move so fast or as freely as she loved to. She slowly got to her feet, and without warning and with blinding speed Mach Punched the fleshy Pomemon. It fell back, actually hurt. The poison was taking it's toll. Eztli hoped her luck would hold up.

"Hm...Lickitung, Knock Off!" Eztli was taken aback, but quickly got back in it.

"Xipil, take it, and then blow smoke in it's face." Xipil did not like this plan by any means, but took it. The actual hit didn't hurt so badly, but the Charcoal she had been holding skittered off to the side. Eztli rushed over to pick it up for safekeeping, in the process missing Xipil using Smokescreen to blind the Lickitung. It danced around, completely disoriented. The nerd stared admiringly at Eztli.

"You are a very good trainer. Defense Curl!"

Atlas was pretty damn angry now that he'd hurt himself like that, he was just trying to be cool for his trainer! Without much thinking he started rampaging about, slammign his head and tail into everything, making cracks in the boulders and kicking up dirt. His tail almost his Jason, who had just managed to jump out of the way. "Atlas, calm down man! Damn I know he's a lot smaller than a full grown Onix but he's still real strong! I better make a note of this after he calmed down!" Jason rolled to the side again, Zeus buzzing aroudn his head angrily. "Huh? Yeah, maybe you're right buddy. Alright Zeus, hit him with Thundersh- um wait no that won't work. Um Tackle then..though it won't do much..but Tackle anyway!" Zeus was ready to comply, but before he could move Atlas had already launched his attack. Atlas had leaped up into the air at Zeus and wrapped his body around the Magnet pokemon and started to squeeze him tightly. "Wow, nice Bind Atlas! Wait no, I mean bad Atlas! Don't use Bind on your team mate!" Zeus wasn't going to take this lightly though, and forced himself out of the hold. Propelling himself forward with magnetism, Zeus slammed into Atlas and caused the angry rock pokemon to fall back flat on his back again. It may have been just a normal type move, but Atlas was newly hatched and still rather weak. Jason quickly recalled Atlas to his pokeball and sighed. "Good work Zeus. You just take a moment to chill out alright Atlas? Heh, I'm sure we'll have fun though. Say Zeus, your electric moves won't wok on Atlas at all will they? If he flips out like that when he gets bigger it could be a problem. Maybe we should teach you a steel type move eh? But first, I think I need a nap. Atlas is sure to be calm later." If Zeus could have sighed he would have, unbelievable! But what could he do really, he just had to sit and wait, watching as Jason drifted off to sleep again.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 17, 2009 10:06 pm

"Hmmm? What time is it?" Jason said groggily as he sat up off the ground, his back starting to sting from the pebbles he'd been sleeping on. He checked his watch, it was about five o'clock. "Eh? So late already? Well whatever. You around here Zeus?" He looked around, Zeus wasn't anywhere in sight at first. But he suddenly zipped out of a pile of grass where he had apparently decided to rest while waiting for Jason. "Heh, nothing like a good snooze right? Oh wait a sec....I'm forgetting something. Oh yeah!" He sat back down, leaning up against a rock as he took his pad out to start writing. He drew a small picture of Atlas in the corner and began his notes. "Subject, Atlas, my new Onix. He hatched sometime this morning from the egg I got from the daycare couple, unfortunately I was unable to witness it for unknown reasons." Zeus shot Jason with a weak jolt which caused him to jump up slightly. "Ok fine, jerk." He crossed out the last few words and started again. "because I was sleeping at the time. Upon waking I found the baby Onix feeding on a nearby pile of rocks, and while not very big for an Onix he is still big indeed, much larger than his egg that's for sure. Subject displayed a very short temper, common in the Onix species I believe, as well as strength that went along with it. It may have been my imagination, but I believe that Atlas appeared larger after his first meal then when I found him at first. It is my opinion that he will grow at an exponential rate until he reaches the average height of 28'. An interesting addition to my team, that's for sure." Jason put the pad away and let Atlas out, ready to get to know his pokemon better. Atlas came out, much calmer than before, and simply coiled up looking at Jason. "Well hey there. All better now? Better take it easy, you're still new to this whole...life thing. So let's take it slow and explore alright? Come on, we're going back home so you can meet my folks!" Jason grinned widely, running back to Mauville with Atlas hot on his tail. This was fun, though Atlas covered a lot of ground he did move rather awkwardly, making it harder to keep up with Jason than he could have liked.

An inexplicable feeling of annoyance overcame Keegan when he heard Kasiya's voice, but he didn't look up, instead only continued to toy with his lighter. He should have guessed she'd be able to find him in a heartbeat, it was like she had some kind of radar that always led her right to him, and though a part of him was glad to see her, the other part definitely was not, as he was in no mood for the third degree he was most assuredly about to get from her. "Yeah, I suppose it is," he answered eventually, slowly looking up at her, his gaze lingering for only a second as a guilty stab in his gut made him turn away, instead choosing to look at the Jolteon by her side.

Kenny and Pan, on the other hand, were quite interested in the pretty young lady that was now standing before them, and the Duskull abandoned his half-eaten muffin to hover over to Kasiya and float circles around her, his normally ominous, red eye shaped curiously like a heart. Pan gobbled up the remainder of his apple before eying Kenny's muffin, and in a flash of green the Treecko had soon devoured it as well, now sitting back in his previous position and doing his best to look innocent.

"Maybe we should try something else," Miharu said after many more tried and failed Tackle attacks from Sparkle, though the girl was aware of the fact that Sparkle's best attack was by far her Thunderbolt. "Try a Thundershock instead, Sparkle," Miharu told the Flaaffy, who nodded. She let out a sharp bleat before loosing a burst of blue-tinged electricity that sped towards Petunia. There wasn't anything the Pinsir could do to stop it and she was subjected to the jolt, though it wasn't overly damaging. "Good job, Sparkle," Miharu nodded, looking over to Petunia as she got to her feet. "Let's take a break for now."

The two Pokemon agreed and they and their trainer gazed out over the water as they traveled along. By this point they could see the Whirl Islands in the distance, and Miharu wondered dreamily what it would be like to explore that series of caverns and underground passages, and what strange and interesting Pokemon were hiding within. Sparkle nudged her leg and she reached down to stroke the Flaaffy's soft wool, eventually picking her up and holding her in her arms. Petunia stood vigilantly at her side, though it was easy to tell that she was enjoying the cool see breeze.

'Okay, a water-type attack, definitely expected that,' Riza thought with a smile. 'But I know Eris can easily outrun those bubbles!' She straightened up and nodded. "Okay Eris, dodge!" she called out. "Those bubbles will really hurt if they hit you, because you're vulnerable to water-type attacks!" Out of the corner of her eye she saw someone approach the battlefield, but he stopped well beforehand. Even still he seemed familiar to Riza, but she couldn't let herself get distracted now.

Eris had taken Riza's warning to heart, although she didn't move from her spot on the ground. "Quil!" she cried, the pores on her back suddenly blazing with intense fire, and she took a step forward. She cried out again, her eyes flashing bright pink as she sent out a wave of strange energy that was almost invisible, save for the air rippling around her as it moved. The energy met the bubbles head on and exploded them on impact, causing a shower of beautiful, sparkling water droplets to cascade down around the fire mouse, the droplets making a sizzling sound as they hit the blazing flames on her back. All in all it made the Cyndaquil look great, and even though Riza had no idea what had just happened she let out a cheer. Little Eris, on the other hand, had no idea that she'd just executed a brilliant combination, all she knew was that she'd stopped herself from being hit by the bubble attack.

Three pairs of eyes were glued to the statically charged egg as it continued to glow brightly. Slowly, the egg began to grow in size, and Katie could feel her hair standing on end from all the electricity being given off around her. It soon began to take shape with a pair of discernible legs and arms. The light started to fade as the baby was born, last but certainly not least two prong-like protrusions forming on it's head. It looked up at Katie curiously as it's eyes adjusted to being outside of the egg, and it smiled before extending a hand. "Bi, bii!" it said happily.

"There you have it," the nurse said, looking at Katie. "Congratulations, you've got yourself a healthy little Elekid." She smiled and handed Katie a poke ball. "You'll need it," she said before turning to leave the room, needing to get back to her duties.

"Thank you," Katie said, unable to take her gaze away from the newly hatched Pokemon, her eyes shining with tears of happiness. "Hello there, Elekid," she said, kneeling a little so that she was eye-level with the baby. "It's nice to finally meet you!"

Elekid blinked at her a few times before nodding, and extending a hand. "Bibibi!" it cried, and Katie held out her hand as well, touching her finger to Elekid's, which resulted in a loud spark of electricity.

"Ouch!" Katie cried, jumping back a bit, but she quickly put on a smile, not wanting to offend it. "I can tell you're going to be a tough one," she said as Pikachu hopped down onto the table next to Elekid and offered a paw. Elekid nodded and touched his hand to Pikachu's, causing several tiny sparks to fly between them. Katie figured it was an electric-type's way of saying hello. She smiled and picked Elekid up, laughing a little when he snuggled into her. 'I can't believe my mom got me an Elekid,' she thought, patting Pikachu on the head. 'I thought for sure she...' she sighed, and smiled at the mouse. 'Though I guess a Pikachu wouldn't have been so bad after all...'

Okay, Keegan's even more antisocial than usual, Kasiya thought, looking away as well, and though part of her was telling her that she should just turn around and walk away, she just couldn't. Trying to ignore the apparent love-struck Duskull that was now circling her, she moved forward and sat down on the bench next to the small, green Pokemon that had stolen the muffin. "I see you got yourself some new Pokemon," she said, turning to look at him again, wearing a small, friendly smile. "Duskull, I know," she said, casting a glance at the now-familiar Duskull that was hovering by her side. "But I'm not sure about the other." Flash, meanwhile, had started to explore the area they were in, and though he could easily get back to Kasiya's side in a matter of seconds, he didn't dare stray too far away from her.

"What... was... that?" Jaeshan asked slowly, eyes wide as he watched the sparkling display come to an end. He'd never seen anything like it before in all his time as a trainer, but he was quite impressed anyway. Squirtle had landed and was looking on in awe as well, though he was more annoyed that his Bubble attack had been blocked than impressed. The turtle huffed a little and looked back at Jaeshan, wondering what he should be doing next.

"Okay, moving on," Jaeshan said with a nod, oblivious to the familiar face that was now watching their training match. "Give your Tackle a try, Squirtle," he said. Squirtle nodded and dashed forward, wanting to make up for the failed Bubble in the previous round.

"Mom, Pop! Guess what happened today!" Jason was standing outside his his house, holding his hands to his mouth like a megaphone as he yelled. He turned to Atlas who was next to him and shooed him away. "Hey shush, hide over there ok? I wanna surprise them. Wait for my signal." The Onix nudged him curiously, but Jason just pushed his head aside and pointed to the side of the house. Atlas got the picture and disappeared behind the house.

"Hmm? Jason? That boy hasn't left Mauville yet? How long has it been babe?" Jason's father was sitting in his chair reading the paper when he heard Jason's yells. "And doesn't he have a key? Don't tell me he forgot them. I swear that boy..." He may have sounded a little upset, but he did have a big grin on his face.

"Ajax honey, don't be like that! Maybe he just doesn't want to come inside you know? He misses us to much and he won't leave if he comes in, doesn't that sound so sweet?" Jason's mother walked in from the other room and put her arms around her husband, giving him a little kiss. "He must want something, so come on." She made her way over to the door and opened it, Ajax close behind. "Hello honey, did you get homesick already? You poor thing, come inside, I'll set you a plate. We were about to have dinner."

"Wha? No actually I...ooo dinner...no wait! Um Mom, you'll never guess what I got from the daycare folks! They let me have an egg and it hatched today! Come on out Atlas!" Jason turned to look at the side of the house he'd sent atlas, but he didn't come out. "Umm..hang on a sec. Be right back." Jason ran to the side of the house, and much to his horror found Atlas eating up the rocks in hit mother's garden. "Oh man! Atlas no! Bad Atlas, come here!" Jason grabbed Atlas by the horn on his head and started to pull him away, but Atlas struggled and effortlessly pulled Jason with him as he kept eating.

"Got a problem with yer kid there eh? Heh heh, you'll never get him to listen like that. Not when he's eating anyway." Jason's dad started laughing loudly as he watched his son try to keep his Onix under control from the window, which was conveniently placed just in front of the garden. "You gotta show 'em who's boss Jason. Let the little guy know he can't eat your moms garden! Well, the rocks anyway. Get him under control and let him play in the back with Zeus, you're mom made some grade A stew today! Come on in and wash up alright kiddo?" With that Ajax went back inside the window, making his way to the kitchen, followed by his wife to help finish setting things up. She looked at him with protest, but he just smiled. "They're just kids babe, hat's one garden? We'll fix it up after they leave ok?"

"Be the boss, right!" Jason cleared his throat and got in front of Atlas, trying to look as intimidating as possible. He grabbed his horn again and pulled Atlas's head away from the garden again, or what was left of it. "Atlas, enough. You can't eat every pile of rocks you find, you will behave yourself. I'll feed you when appropriate, got it? Now go to the back yard and hang around with Zeus. Get to know each other better, Zeus make sure he stays out of trouble. Now go." Atlas stared at Jason for a few moments, but Jason didn't falter. So Atlas nodded and noisily slithered away to the backyard, Zeus close behind. Jason grinned, runnign inside to get ready for dinner.

"Ha! Maybe you should take a better tone with your Espeon! It might listen to you then!" Robin taunted. She of course didn't know that you needed gym badges to make traded pokemon listen to you. Still she felt a little sorry for the cute little psychic kitty she didn't really want to hurt it to bad and Raz was now probably just as fast as it. She thought eying her Yanma as he started to glow his speed getting raised as the battle went on. Little did Robin know though she was about to get her wish.

A loud whistle pierced the air and an angry looking Officer Jenny appeared breaking through the crowd til she was standing in the middle of Robin and the Thief. "All right what is going on here?" She demanded.

"He stole something from Charlie and I want him to give it back!" Robin cried quick to respond.

"What! No I didn't!"

"Yes you did you said you did!" The crowd murmurer slightly in agreement, apparently one of them had been the one to call in the police after that.

"I did get a call about a theft. All right lets get to the bottom of this. Show me your bags and empty out your pockets we will see who stole what." Jenny said watching both of them.

Not having any problems with that Robin slung her bag off of her shoulder and went over to Jenny to let her riffle through it. While she waited Raz came down and chattered at Brook to try to figure out what exactly was going on and why his trainer was in such bright clothing now. Luffy just hopped over to Robin's side forgetting all about being recalled from this short cut off battle.

"All right well you don't really have anything suspicious in your bag." Jenny cleared Robin handing her back her things. She then turned to the thief who at least had the sense to look guilty. It didn't take Jenny very long at all to find Charlie's cash register drawer and with a hard look on her face she told the man to turn and around as she cuffed his hands behind his back. "All right we are going to return this money and then I am taking you down to the station!"

~~~~~~
The angry Shuppet screeched at Dante and Xanon and suddenly a nail appeared above the pokemon's head. It chuckled as it slammed the imaginary nail into its own chest cursing them both instead of just Xanon. The force of the attack knocked the ghost pokemon out but its job was done. It just gave one more malicious grin at them before it passed out onto the ground and to the side of the road.
Both Dante and Xanon shared a blank look with each other before pain rocketed through both of their bodies. Gasping Dante stumbled slightly but didn't fall down to the ground. Xanon though just winced as well as a claydoll could but held his place. "Ok back into the pokeball Xanon." Dante ground out as he recalled his pokemon." Recalling pokemon worked to get rid of curses, though that didn't change the fact that Dante was still cursed. 'Ok what to do, what to do.' He thought to himself.
'Try the pokemon center. They can usually fix these types of things.' One of the voices suggested actually being helpful for once.
OK maybe that was a good idea. Sure they didn't exactly heal people but they did deal with pokemon and this was a pokemon curse. Maybe it would work? Dante hoped it would as another wave of fresh pain coursed through him. Going into his messenger bag he pulled out Apollo's pokeball and let the stunning white and black Rapidash out. "Boy am I glad Mitsu gave you back to me." He muttered as he climbed onto the strong pokemons back. "Can you take me to the pokemon center Apollo?" He asked as he secured a spot on top of the fire unicorn. The reliable Apollo just whinnied and took off towards town carrying his cursed trainer easily and speedily.
Mitsu couldn't help but giggle as Kilik wiped away the whipped cream only to catch herself a moment later, clasping her hands over her mouth in embarrassment. Her cheeks lit up a faint red as she tried to cover it up by popping another strawberry into her mouth. She chewed slowly, savoring the sweet taste. It was too cold on Mossdeep for them to grow and she could only have them once in a while during her trips to Lilycove.
She hardly noticed Kasiya leaving nor the redhead that she was now talking too. The only thing that really caught her eye was the small floating Duskull. "Kenny!" she cried happily without thinking. She and the little Ghost Pokemon had traversed Sprout Tower with Dante during their little excursion to Jhoto. She missed the time she'd spent with Dante. It was like they'd been joined at the hip. She smiled, giving the little Ghost Pokemon a wave, completely oblivious to the fact that Keegan was his new trainer. Mitsu secretly wished that Dante had left the little fellow in her care instead of whoever he'd been given to. It felt like it'd been ages since she'd seen Kenny.
Mitsu laughed, catching herself once more. "Sorry," she apologized sheepishly. "I haven't seen Dante's Duskull in a while. We use to be really close before he disappeared." She paused to take another bite of her breakfast. All that was left now was a half bowl of whipped cream drenched strawberries. "Want one?" she asked, smiling at the boy across from her.
Kasiya had up and left faster than she had come. He looked over his shoulder to see that Keegan had shown up. He immediately became uninterested. Yet even Mitsu was excited to see him, until she had mentioned that it was merely for the Duskull that was floating by him. Kilik devoured another apple like it was nothing and set the core aside. Maybe it was because he had never really sat down and talked with Keegan before, but he always seemed so...he couldn't really find the proper word to describe him. I guess when I don't know someone, he thought, I automatically don't like them until I do. He snapped back to reality when Mitsu asked him the question. "Bwuah?" Kilik shook his head a bit then laughed. "No, no. I'm not big on strawberries. The seeds," he said, pointing to his teeth, "get lodged up in there and it takes forever to get 'em out. Even with flossing."
Kilik looked up at the clock. 9:00 AM. Only three more hours until the boat was leaving. "Say Mitsu," he said, looking over at her. He reached a hand out and put it on hers, locking fingers with her from across the table. "In Sinnoh, I plan on doing a lot of training before moving on to another town. If you feel that I'd be holding you back..." he was trying to figure out exactly how to word it. "If you feel that you wanna go ahead without me, that'd be cool. I could just catch up with you later." He smiled, then shook his head. "Th-that's not to say I don't want to spend as much time with you as I possibly can! C-cause I do!" Kilik covered his face with his other hand and jerked his head back with a sigh. "I'm terrible at this."
As if everything that had just happened to him didn't, Mazarin was walking into Fuschia City with a strut, whistling to himself, pumping his arms triumphantly with each step. A few people looked at him funny, but he didn't care. He remembered that Kilik had been training here for a while way back a million years ago, and perhaps he could get some training in with Koga, too. "If Kilik can train with him, so can I! And if he doesn't accept me," he said, "then I'll just have to beat him in a battle! Koga doesn't know sh---"
"What do I not know?" said a stern voice from behind him.
Mazarin turned on his heel and fell over onto his backside in the process. Man, he seemed to come out of nowhere! Like a real ninja! "Shhhhhh...." He couldn't think of anything that made sense as well as started with an 'sh'. "Shhhh. Shhh. Sh. I was...uh, shushing myself!" Mazarin hopped up with surprising gusto and put his fists on his hips. Banette slapped his forehead and sighed a muffled sigh through his zipper-like mouth.
Koga's cold stare seemed to pierce right through the boy. "What were you saying about Kilik? How is my old pupil?" The ninja put his hands behind his back and walked alongside the silver-haired boy. Each of his footsteps were utterly silent, as if he were ready to pounce on another unsuspecting person. "My deepest apologies for frightening you, boy. However, when I heard not only Kilik, but my name as well, I could not help but feel slightly alarmed that you knew of our bond. You are...his friend, I assume?"
"Never assume, sir!" Mazarin laughed, "Because it makes an a** out of U and ME! Get it?" He slapped his knee in hysterics, then began to nudge the older man. When all he got in return was a stern frown, Mazarin shut up quickly and stuffed his hands into his pockets. "Y-yeah, I am."
Mitsu shifted her view back to the duo across the room, taking a quick glace at Keegan. He looked okay, grumpy as usual. He'd probably forgotten about their little . . .incident back before the whole Slateport event by now. She clenched and unclenched her hands unconsciously recalling the dark hallway and the green glow that somehow emitted from her hands. It was probably better that he didn't think of it. She didn't really want anyone to know that she was a, well you know, a freak. At least he's healed and he doesn't have to worry about Sapphire's burn's anymore. She took one last glance at the scene and the cute little Duskull before turning her attention back to Kilik.
"Suit yourself," she laughed before eating a few more. She washed it down with a swig of her orange juice. Unlike Kilik she didn't care much for the seeds, she'd never had a problem with them getting stuck in her teeth before.
She unconsciously smiled as he laced his fingers through hers. Laughing softly, she shook her head. "You're doing just fine," she replied. Not that she really knew, but reassurance could never hurt, right? "I know you're going to be training a lot already anyways. I mean how else do you get so strong?" She laughed again before continuing, "I'd want to spend some time with you too. . .and if anything I'm going to be the one to hold you back." She paused, looking down bit a moment. "We'll see when we get there, right?" she asked, looking back up at him with a small smile.
She didn't really know what to expect in Sinnoh. And things were always changing as it was. Mitsu had planned on training too, but she didn't know about staying rooted in one place for too long. Sinnoh was a big region and she wanted to see a lot of it before going back to Hoenn and getting her last two badges. There were people she was planning on meeting, and places she planned to go. She'd wanted Kilik to be there with her, but it seemed as if their plans were butting heads. We'll see, she thought, I don't really have a set schedule or anything.
"You won't hold me back," he said swiftly, but warmly, "Staying in just one spot, training night and day...If that doesn't sound like something you'd want to do, I wouldn't want you to stay behind for my sake. But," he smiled warmly, "If you ever need me by your side, I'm just a quick call away and I'll be there faster than a Jolteon after an Agility." He leaned over the table and gave her a quick kiss on the forehead. She was right, though. Kilik had to train all the time, if he ever expected to be stronger than Mike. Despite being his best friend, Mike was his greatest rival, too. Sinnoh wasn't just a new adventure, but a new beginning for Kilik. A chance to start over again and train stronger Pokemon and work harder than he ever had before. Through hard work, blood, sweat, and tears, Kilik was going to prove that he was strong.
Sure, he had very powerful Pokemon at his side already. Scizor, Aggron, and Flygon came straight to his mind. Even Cable was proving more powerful than he had ever expected him to be. But with Sinnoh, this was a chance for him to raise Pokemon up from meager starts. His Treecko, for example, or the Chimchar he was eagerly waiting for. The trainers around here were much too powerful for them. But Sinnoh has trainers just starting out around the Professor's hometown, I bet, Kilik thought. It would give him a chance to bring them up to Cable's level of power, and bring balance to his team. A soft smile came to his lips. All these thoughts went through his mind in what seemed like an instant. "But you're right," he said, "we'll see." He gave her hand a soft squeeze.
Mazarin walked with Koga to the Pokemon Center, almost like he was being escorted there. "Thanks," he said, and when he turned to shake the man's hand, he had disappeared. All that was in the man's place was a note. It said "Meet me at the Gym". Stuffing it into his pocket, Maz shook his head. "Bah, I don't need training. I've got T.E.A.M! They're all the training I need!" He hopped over to the counter and handed over all of his Pokeballs. "Dunno who's hurt. Heal 'em all to be sure. Thanks sweetcheeks!" He patted the Nurse's face. She had a look of confusion and slight disgust, despite the redness in her cheeks.
The boy toddled over to the couch and jumped over the back of it, landing on the cushions. He stretched out and put his hands behind his head. His smile slowly began to fade. "Perhaps I should go see Koga," he thought, tapping the back of his head with his finger. "I mean, it worked for Kilik. Could work for me." He rubbed his eye and yawned loudly. So loudly, in fact, that a few of the other trainers looked over at him.
"What?" he snapped, "Ain't'choo never see someone yawn before?" He tapped his foot on the arm of the couch and looked up at the ceiling. "People these days, I swear. So inconsiderate." Maz chose to ignore the mud he was getting on the sofa.
Her heart skipped a beat again as he kissed her forehead. She wondered if she'd ever get use to the feeling. It was warm and pleasant and it always brought a smile to her face. "Maybe I could train with you," Mitsu mentioned idly. She did make that promise to herself to become stronger and to do that she'd need to train. She had a lot of catching up to do if she wanted to be strong like Kilik and Mike or Kasiya. They were all on a whole other level and she was falling behind. But not anymore. We're going to get stronger and we'll be a threat too.
They had been eating for quite a while now and her plate was relatively clean save for the few crumbs and whatnot that lingered on her plate. She rubbed her thumb in small circles over his hand before letting go. She stood up and grabbed her tray, heading over to the counter where they could dispose of their used items and half eaten food. "Planning on sitting there for the rest of the day?" she joked as she made her way back. She didn't really know what to do until the boat left, but the last thing she wanted to do was sit at the table for another three hours.
Sir Upper Crust the 3rd
"Ah ha ha ha! So I take it you got things under control son? Don't be to upset, he's just a baby. You said he hatched today?" As he spoke, Jason's father took a spoonful of the stew, seemingly unaffected by the fact that it was still very very hot. "Like I told ya son, you gotta be firm. You gotta be the boss!Do that and I'm sure Atlas will grow up just fine. So how has your adventure gone so far?"
"Heh, yeah pops. I just had to step up and put my foot down. Atlas understood. But He's a good boy to begin with, I knew he'd listen. But I'm doing well, it's been fun. I made a friend and took some great notes. But I don't really know what to do from here...I mean today's is the beach festival, but from here I got no real plans." Jason blew on his stew and ate it, almost tearing up from how hot it still was. But he ignored the pain and kept eating.
"Oh well why don't you go down to Slateport honey? Not for the festival I mean, but go tomorrow or something. If you don't know what to do try taking the train to one of the other cities like Lilycove. Or maybe you could take a ferry, visit another region. There are a ton of things you can do honey." Jason's mom was a bit smarter, she still hadn't touched her stew as she waited for it to cool off. She knew her husband was burning his mouth this very moment, though he clearly hid it better than Jason. She had such silly men here in her home.
"Hmm, that's not a bad idea actually. Travel....yeah that could be fun! So I'll head down to Slateport and have a look around soon. Oh, I do have that train ticket you guys got me. I wonder where I'll go! Rustboro maybe. Or Lilycove, I always wanted to see that huge department store! But I think I'm gonna hang out here for a bit. I want to tell you guys all about my adventure so far, and I wanna sleep in my bed again." He added with a laugh. The entire family joined in and the rest of dinner was filled with that atmosphere. Meanwhile, Zeus and Atlas were in the backyard, playing a game of what could only be described as chase the magnemite. They had a good night that night, and Jason loved sleeping in his bed again.
