Electric Kool-Aid

PostPosted: Tue Jan 05, 2010 4:35 am

Haucon groaned as his eyes rolled open slowly. It was too early for this. Normally, getting up at 5:30 in the morning to do chores for the barn was no problem. But the news he'd received the night before made it more difficult. He forced himself out of bed and onto his feet despite his desire to roll over and flip his pillow over the back of his head in order to remain dead to the world for another 10 minutes at least.

He moved about somewhat lethargically, getting dressed, having a wash and grabbing a slice of bread from the larder before beginning the mucking out of stalls. All the while he had in his head, visions of the castle. From the outside, it looked like a birthday cake almost with so much bunting and streamers it'd make any normal human being vomit. Haucon couldn't much get past the outside and wondered perhaps if the overenthusiastic decorations might not just deter a potential invasion by the simple rule of insanity.

((Hey guys! I'm back from abroad! Hope you're all doing well!))

((Hi, EKA! Welcome backs! Where did you go?))

Shizuru stared. A brawl this early in the morning? She probably had to treat some of these people. "Coming to the bar was a bad idea after all," the doctor mumbled as she watched on.

The bar tender was always annoyed. More power to me... Shizuru thought as she picked up a cup and chucked it at a soldier, who immediately glared at her.

"Hey! Who?"

"Quiet, you, or you're not getting treated by the doctor!" Shizuru grumbled loudly.

((I'm gonna take control of some nameless soldiers. Malaroth, control some too! XP))

Isabelle The Barbers Daughter
Temptations

Isabelle was already up and working hard. It seemed her pricing was just right to cater for the upper side of society she aimed at, though there was also a lower priced service for less privileged customers, after all, they were the ones that would spread the word of her to the rest of the city.
"Yes Madame, will that be all?" She said to a rather plump and cheerful looking woman with a brand new style to match an exceedingly luxurious dress that she had just bought.
"Thank you for your patronage and I do hope to see you again and I hope you have a wonderful time at the party Madame." Isabelle cheerfully said as another happy customer grinned at their own reflection. She hated vanity, but, it was easy to make money from, and she was quite good at making accurate cuts any way, so why not profit from it.
"Oh yes my dear, I love it, I will be sure to tell my associates about this establishment. Again, thankyou." Said the woman as she waddled out the door towards her carriage.
what a vile being... It's getting harder and harder to keep myself from plunging the scissors into their jugular. Thought Isabelle as she watched her leave and sorted the money into her cash box.
"Next please if you will..." This time it was a heavily stubbled man. He smiled as he sat down and rubbed his chin.
"A shave please, and make it close as you can." He said with a rather camp tone. Flipping out a razor Isabelle thought of all the things she could do to the man, slit his throat, cut his body to ribbons, strip the flesh from his bones... She felt a shiver run all over her body, a shiver that could almost be compared to pleasure. She stalled from the feeling tingling beneath her skin but quickly composed herself, she had to wait for her orders, now was not time to mindlessly kill whoever caught her fancy.

((Welcome back, EKA! How was the abroad?

I'm waiting for everyone active to post at least once before anything gets attacked.

Mal and anyone else, feel free to control nameless soldiers or people. Thanks for the color guidance, Mal. ))

" ... People are trying to sleep, y'know."

"Quiet.... doctor!"

Through everyone's quieting down, someone's loud snoring became obvious. Adam and the investigator, and perhaps, many more bar occupants, eyed the slumped over Lyris.

"Hmph, should be sleeping elsewhere," Adam mumbled. Without another word, he turned and socked the investigator in the face and turned to leave.

The investigator went down with a cry. A doctor at that point would be advisable.

SHRAVRA the metalsmith
How did Forest manage this one?

xxxShravra couldn't get his head round the plaque he had been commissioned to make. Forest herself had drawn the picture that had to be next to the ridiculous title, proving that she was no artist and making the work even more of a headache. The metals that were requested to be used were the most unyielding that he had in stock and had to be heated far beyond the current limit of his forge. It would need to be treated with some dragon spit for it to stand the temperature. It was just his luck that he had ran out of it healing Forest and hadn't got round to purchasing any more and the usual shop that he bought it from had shut down a long time ago. Where to get it from now...Ah! The apothecary might have some. It's good for burns as well. Decided, Shravra took off his apron and gloves before leaving for the apothecary.

xxxUpon entering the door to the shop of herbs and potions, Shravra immediately found himself looking at row after row of high shelves that could hold nearly anything. A dismayed look fell across his face as he realized that he would never find it unless he found help from the owner of the shop, who was nowhere to be seen. "Hello? Is there anyone who can help me?" The words echoed back from the door to the back of the store. Shravra disheartedly looked back at the shelves wondering where the herbs came from.

((anytime, Scythe razz ))

Lyris was beginning to wake up, but he was still in a half-unconscious stupor. He heard the fighting taking place and applied it to his dream. "Ladies, please. No need to fight over me." he mumbled almost inaudibly.

Shane shook his head and covered his face with his palm
(facepalm) as the captain punched the investigator in the face and left. "I always get the rowdy ones." he mumbled. "Sorry, ma'am, how might I help you?" Shane asked to the woman who had walked into the bar. He glanced over at the soldiers, who seemed to have stopped fighting long enough to give Lyris odd looks. He shook his head again and sighed as he awaited the woman's reply.

Instead of facepalming herself, Shizuru merely sighed deeply when she saw the captain punch the investigator and brush pass her. Then, another sigh, when she heard the drunken sleeping man's comments. Why would any woman fight over some idiot sleeping in the middle of a bar fight and...thinking about girls?

She walked over to Shane and then looked at the investigator, who was moaning. "Ju st came here for a drink, but looks like I'm needed." She knelt down and started to patch up teh investigator. "Give me some ice." she told Shane.

"I'm going to laugh if the stable master walks in here next," she mumbled.

Shane nodded and leaped over the bar. He ducked down into the cooler where he kept his ice, and scooped some up to put into a bag. He lifted his head over the bar, and asked "Do you need a rag or towel?"

Lyris jerked awake, falling off his barstool. "Gah! Where am I?" he looked around wildly, before getting back up and dusting himself off. Taking a quick glance around, he adjusted his fedora. "I meant to do that." he said, trying to sound smooth. Regardless, he walked quickly out the door, trying to cover up his stupidity, completely oblivious to the happenings around him.

Shizuru nodded without looking at SHane. "Yes, that would help. Thanks." She sighed. "What a foul attitude that man had!" she commented.

And then she heard Lyris. Anotheri diot., she thought.

((Hmm, does anyone know if TriggerPerfect has been online recently? If not, I'll move the plot forward.))

The investigator moaned as Shizuru tried to help him. He, for one, did not entirely understand how the captain could get away with being so unruly without being reprimanded. The captain was known to be a drunkard. Even if the captain was noted for his lucidity in battle tactics as a drunkard, it was uncalled for in times of peace. "That captain... indeed. Not the most friendly person alive."

Shane nodded and wrapped the ice pack in a towel and leaped back over the bar. He knelt down next to the investigator as he handed the pack to the doctor. "Here ya go. Is he alright?" he asked as he gestured toward the investigator. He heard the man speak, and Shane replied "Yeah, the captain of the guard sure can punch pretty hard." he rubbed his chin as he remembered that one time a couple years ago when he reprimanded the captain about being drunk all the time. Shane got bashed across the lower part of his face for his trouble. "That still hurts sometimes..." he mumbled, hoping nobody heard.

Aidan Vale The Apothecary

||Before Time-skip||

Aidan watched attentively as the Doctor seemed to come out of her stupor. The concoction took the edge off the effects alcohol had on the human brain, helping the user to gain some of their sense back. Regrettably, it did not remove the symptoms completely, and might intensify the headache Shizuru would inevitably have tomorrow morning. Even still, if it meant getting her home safe and sound, Aidan was glad to have administered the remedy. She looked from Shizuru to Haucon, and gave a little smile. Nodding to Haucon's thanks, she answered, "The pleasure was mine. As soon as I can, I'll come by the stable so we can establish a time for lessons." Her dark eyes moved back to Shizuru, "Doctor, if you need anything else for the hang over, come and see me." At Haucon's mention of her hand, the young elf shrugged and said, "It will heal soon enough, I'm sure. Thank you again for setting the bones." To the both of them, as they moved toward her doors, she spoke again smiling slightly, "Have a good evening." When they left, Aidan closed the doors behind them, locking them securely. Drawing the curtains over her windows shut, the apothecary felt content. Making her way through the darkness, she climbed the stairs to her flat.

||After Time-skip||

Two days later, Aidan was shaken out of her rest by a noise from her shop below. Eyes flying open, the young elf lay there for a few moments, not sure of what had caused her to wake so suddenly. Was that the bell on her door she had just heard? Surely not… She was almost positive that she had locked up the night before. Then again, the last two days had been rather disorderly, so it was possible she-… Her thoughts were interrupted by a voice from below that made her sit bolt upright. Apparently she had forgotten. Face draining of color, she called out in response, “Just a moment, please!” Flying out of bed, she ran nervous fingers through her hair, weaving it into a tight braid. After she had secured the end, Aidan tucked back the few stray locks of wavy hair that had escaped around her long ears. Dissatisfied with the result, she forced herself to dress, selecting a plainly ornamented tunic made of light cotton in a dark shade of brown. It fit well around her tiny form, with sleeves that grew wider as they traveled down her thin arms, and a belt of woven fabric. She slipped her legging clad legs into a pair of leather boots. After finished dressing, she stood for a short moment, attempting to collect her scattered wits before facing the customer.
With light feet, she finally made her way down the stairs that led to her shop. Pushing aside the dark curtain that divided her back room from the main shop, she emerged, looking a bit pale. Moving to her counter, she leaned on the smooth wood for support. Giving the blacksmith a quick once-over, the tiny elf spoke with a nervous edge to her voice, “My apologies, sir. What can I help you with this morning?”

SHRAVRA the metalsmith
Is this place even open yet?

xxx“Just a moment, please!” The call came back down from the back of the shop sounding slightly frazzled and panicked. Did she just wake up? A few minutes later the diminutive elf came out from behind the dark curtain slightly paler than he would assume normal. “My apologies, sir. What can I help you with this morning?”
"No need to apologize. It seems I've wandered in while you should be shut. However, since we are both here, do you perhaps stock any root of dragon's spit. My last supplier has moved shop for some reason and I've run out. And I seem to need quite a lot to complete Forest's latest demand." Thinking of the ordered plaque a slight shudder ran down his spine that Aiden would probably see. Looking back at the shelves he thought of all the things that could be hidden in the mass of bottles.

((Yay for replyness.))
