Issildia's form then faded out, with a slight flourish of smoke like shadows. She reappeared where she had last seen her father, soldiers were milling around as their officers attempted to organize them into ranks, but most of the Larovian warriors were all attempting to deal with the sudden intruders.

As one of these soldiers came tearing past her, Issildia reversed her grip on her right handed scimitar Vice, and slammed the hilt into the jaw of the soldier, knocking him out cold.

As the soldier fell, a chill suddenly raced down Issildia's spine, in warning.

She raised her blades to a guard position as she turned around in an instant. The ring of the two combatant's blades, suddenly cut through the clamor of battle.

"So...you survived" Reinsen Nevar said with chilling glare, towards Issildia as she continued to hold off his frost covered blade.

"No" hissed Issildia bitterly, "The daughter that once feared you died in that battle...she died along with all that she ever cared for..."

Issildia paused as a merciless gleam came into her eyes,

"The one that stands before you now...will never fear you again!"

Issildia suddenly threw off Reinsen's blade, as her scimitars resumed an attack position, pale silver fire then raced the length of the two swords.

"Retribution will be mine" Issildia murmured as she launched herself at Reinsen with her two scimitars racing towards their target...

Aronoth backed off from the battle, than dissapeared like a wisp of smoke. His figure reappeared a distance to the northwest, and from his position, fired some Arrows of Light at the croud of battle/. Ten fell before the group finally realised they were being arched. But, by the time anyone turned arround to look, Aronoth had dissapeared, to take another position and continue the cycle. He hatedplaying arround with the soldiers like this, but the effectiveness of the tactic was too important in such a situation. It is often better too leave the enemy distracted and confused if not dead.

Of course, theres the odd time Aronoth is actually attacked. However, very few of these people are able to handle a bow able to slice through metal like the accusing stare of authority through the soul. Such was one of those time. Aronoth gripped his bow like a staff, and within seconds, another soldier had hit the ground. Aronoth doubled back again, and began firing more arrows, when he noticed the stranger attacking someone who seemed an awful lot like her...

In Aronoth's distraction, he was hit by one of the enemy's spells to the side of his head. He fell to the ground, begining to feel extremely cold... He could feel his eyes closing, and hear the charging of feet, but he fought it. He slowly liften himself up, and slashed the bow in an ark towards the croud. Luckily, just in time too, the bow's energy slashed through the oncoming few's skin, and they doubled back. Aronoth finished them off by teleporting a few feet behind them, and fired a Triple arrow to their skulls. They fell.

Aronoth, feeling weak, vanished and reappeared in the forest. He scrummaged through his cloak for his Father's last gift to him, a Neverending Vial of Wizem's Elixer (is this allowed? if not, I'll edit it out.) He took a swig of it, and the effects of the spell wore off instantly. He re-pocketed the Vial, and rushed back into the battle..

Streak battered his way through many troops. He was being cut a few times now and as even feeling the pain, but he was not going to give up. The enemy was sweeping low and cut at hi legs. If he as not helped soon he wouldfall and almost certainly die. His will couldn't prevent it, but it could certainly postpone it.

Reinsen caught Issildia's blades is a shower of pale blue sparks. The two combatants struggled to force the other back, and finally Reinsen managed to knock Issildia's blades back. In the same movement he motioned forward in a sweeping motion with his free left hand. The mottled shadows cast by the forest that surrounded them suddenly lurched away from their unmoving posts and gathered into a blade like formation that followed the sweeping movment of his free hand. The blade composed of shadows shot out at Issildia as if to sever her head from her shoulders but she managed to strafe to the side. Still the very tip of this "shadow blade" caught the side of her neck cutting a shallow gash that burned with an unseen fire. Issildia winced in pain as the wound continued to burn even after the shadow blade that Reinsen had conjured dissipated back into the darkness.

Even so Issildia blocked out the pain and launched her next attack at her father. The pale silver flames that ran the length of her blades seemed to flare slightly as Issildia raced in with a thrusting jab at Reinsen's torso.
She managed to weave past his defense with an impressive array of sword-play but at the last moment he deflected the attack with his own blade.

As the two launched themselves into another bout of attacks Issildia managed to notice that Streak and the mage were slowly being over-run with the soldiers. They would have to make their escape soon, or they to would be destroyed like those of Anier...

Streak saw Issildia being cut by a weapon similar to his own. When he looked closly he saw they were almost exactly alike. Streak knew what that blade could do if it wasn't a fatal hit. It could take over your very soul (see my profile for more info. on the weapon) and destroy you're will, if not kill you. Those that were killed by it were lucky. Streak ran towards her and dived forwards. Two of his fingers were cut off, but this didn't descourage him. His pain fueled him. He'd rather die trying than live a coward. His blade met that of Reinsen Nevar and he nearly looked up. He knew it might be over for him as now he had Reinsen's attention he might try to look him in the eye and he would percure the same fate as that as one wounded by a shadow blade.

Reinsen seemed almost entertained by Streak's attempt to fight him. "Another half blood, " Reinsen mused as he drew his blade back, only to bring it crashing down at Streak. The blade crackled with an unseen energy, which would surely prove fatal, should it make contact...

Issildia suddenly felt, weakness drag at her limbs, and a chilling sensation that felt like ice flowing through the veins. Her hand instantly went to, where the blade had cut the side of her neck. But instead finding the bleeding cut, she found that a spiraling glyph of frost now spread across the wound. She pulled her hand away and oddly, the tips of her fingers were covered with the spiraling frost.

And even more unusual was that the frost at her fingertips seemed to be slowly creeping along the length of her finders, in an odd circling pattern, interlaced with the glyphs.

"Oh no..." she managed to whisper before a pain unlike any other swept through her body. Issildia's spine with taught as another wave of pain rolled through her.

But the worst was yet to happen. As Issildia fell to her knees in pain, the edges of her vision grew dark, and suddenly the darkest of her memories surfaced in a single moment. The memory of her mother's death, her memory of lying beside her mother's corpse, struggling to draw her every breath as her own blood stained the earth beneath her.

I have to fight this Issildia thought with grim determination.

It was then that Demitri's death surfaced, and played it's way through her thoughts over and over, until Issildia found herself choking back her sobs and doubled over in pain.

Streak was fighting her father, and the soldiers were beginning to over-run them.

Suddenly a familiar voice managed to come through the chaos that had taken over her thoughts.

"Issildia, you must fight this"
"Demitri?"
"Don't let this darkness take you, You are stronger than this"
"I can not, Father is more powerful than I"
"No...you are wrong, it is he that is weak, not you Issildia... Now you must fight this."

~The pain that plagued Issildia then seemed to ebb away, as she concentrated on forcing back the darkness that tugged at the edges of her vision. Another wave of icy pain, raced through her slender form, and the darkness continued to consume her...Then from her right hand a sensation like flame brushing against skin ignited along her hand, and began to move up the length of her arm, forcing back the icy grasp of the shadow's curse.

This unseen fire was not painful, only a faint sensation against her skin, but as it fought to force back the icy grasp of the curse, pain and memories stirred up from the cut of the shadow blade continued to race through Issildia's weakening form.

Finally the unseen fire reached the frost bound wound that the blade had made, and the two forces began to consume each other. The glyph of frost began to shrink back unto itself, as the invisible flame slowly destroyed it.
Finally the frost covered glyph and the curse that it carried was defeated. As the glyph sank into nothingness it procured it's final act of wrath.
The feeling of both a unyielding ice and unrelenting flame then centered in on the place where the cut had been made. The pain caused by this last stand by the dark curse, nearly rendered Issildia unconscious, but the curse finally dissipated and the pain vanished.

But she had not escaped unscathed for now a tattoo like sigil remained in the place of the cut, as a reminder of what had transpired. The symbol that was now etched into the skin at the base of Issildia's neck was no larger than one's thumb, and it held the form of three teardrop shaped stokes that wound into each other. A symbol of the curse that she had barely managed to survive.

Before Issildia dared to open her eyes she heard the all to familiar voice once again.
Tenna' ento lye omenta, Issildia

The presence then vanished as Issildia opened her eyes, her gaze falling upon Demitri's ring that rested on her right hand's index finger. The ring held an unusual warmth that felt all to similar to the force that has somehow fought back the shadow blade's curse.

But Issildia pushed this to the back of her mind as she stood weakly.

"Streak we must, get out of here...we have served our purpose!"

Streak flung his blade up and just managed to batter back the attack.
"I am no mere half blood. I am Streak Lightning, Order of Astalder. Commander of Belegohtarea. I have battled many and slain all. We will meet again, and the next will be your last." At this Streak gracefully jumped over all the surrounding troops with his god leg. As he began to walk away the temptation grew so great he had to do it. He looked into the eyes of Reinsen and saw something he never thought he'd see. The death of his parents at the hands of Issildia. Streak quickly looked away. He knew that what he had seen in Reinsen's eyes was true, but he thought best not to think on it. Then he heard a voice in his head.
"You're parents fought for me, you belong to me and eventually you will join me, one way or another, Lightning." The voice that sounded exactly the same as Reinsen's in his head.

((I hope you don't mind me controlling Reinsen in that way at the end.))
PostPosted: Fri Jan 27, 2006 12:46 pm

(((No, you can control Reinsen if you need to, to move the story along, just use it sparingly, but this is fine. 3nodding )))

Issildia bolted through the soldiers, as she ran, her limps felt like lead, from being weakened by the shadow blade's curse, finally she made it through the main group of Larovian soldiers, into the dark of the forest.
She knew all to well that her father was allowing them to leave, if he wanted, he could have stopped them, but for some reason he allowed their escape.

Issildia finally caught sight of Streak's fleeing form as the sound's of the Larovian soldier's died off in the distance.

Issildia finally caught up with him, blood ran down her face and stained her ebony armor. "Are you alright?"

Archer wandered in the wilderness, scaveging for food. He was dehydrated and tired from hunting, but had not found food. He wondered whether he would make it through this day, as he sat on a tree stump. He sighed, and slumed his head into his hands

Streak nodded. "Just a few cuts on the leg and one on the arm. Nothing fatal." Streak sighed. He was not about to tell Issildia what he had seen. He didn't know what to think. He tried to hide it, but confusion was written all over him. He definatly was caught off-guard.

(((Hello and welcome to Ashen Blade "Never Seen Before" If it isn't any trouble could you also post your profile here in the RP? I saw it in the "Profiles" section, but it helps to have it here as well. Also I trust that you have read all of the information I posted on the 1st page of the RP, so you have an idea about the storyline and such. Anyway Welcome, and back to the story.)))

"Then we must get moving, we have done all that we can for the survivors, I would not doubt it if we soon have the entirety of the Larovian army chasing after us."
Issildia then sheathed her scimitars in a swift motion.

It was then that she heard the sounds of movement off in the trees nearby. It was the sound of footsteps, but not the sound of a booted Larovian soldier.
Instantly Issildia drew a duo of kunai knives, and held them between the knuckles on her left hand, ready to be launched as the intruder.

She made little other move to appear as though she had noticed an intruder, and began to walk towards the southwest, towards the Heriden pass. If the intruder choose to show himself then that would be the mistake on his part, thought Issildia grimly.

(((Alright, you are up "Never Seen Before")))

Streak was to confused by what he had ssen he didn't notice the stranger by the tree or Issildia's knifes. He just followed behind her. He didn't know how to bring up the subject of his parent's death as he had ssen it through the eyes of her father. He could just imagine it.
"Oh by the way Issildia, I know during the war you fought well and helped Anier a lot, but did you happen to kill my parents?" Streak had no idea how she would react. Would she answer, stay silent or get hostile. He really didn't know, and in his own little way, didn't want to find out.

Issildia nodded at Streak, then continued moving south west, towards the pass, "So tell me, do you have any idea who the necromancer is, that is trying to kill you Streak?"
