" The Carnival really?" She asked surprised she hugged the girl and could smell the exiting sent of fried things and maximum strength cleanser. " Did you throw-up?" She joked And winced again when she accidentally touched her side. She clenched her teeth and rolled her eyes. "Liam and I have been just chillen around her, it's pretty mellow." She gave a small smirk and glance at Liam.

"Went on the tilt-a-whirl," she murmured, then looked at Liam. She felt a little less guilty about being out with John.

"All by your self?" She asked “wow you must be really brave girly." She grinned. Lilly had never had the guts to ride carnival rides alone, they were just a little too scary for her. Her big brother use to go on rides with her every summer.

John walked slowly past Lilly's room and into Jacob and Liam's room. He sat down next to Jacob and spoke a little, he missed the man that was like a brother to him. when he was done John patted Jacob's shoulder and stood up. He left to go to Lilly's room, when he walked in Beth and her were talking amongst each other.

"Well... John went with me," she replied slowly, biting her lip and waiting for the reaction. She wasn't sure how Lilly would respond.

John froze where he was standing and looked back to Beth, waiting to hear Lilly's reaction before he relaxed and sat down.

Lilly's face froze. inside her head to major ideas fought for the ultimate power, one was the idea that John had had a rough day and deserved to go have fun, he was in charge of his own life and he could make his own choices, the other was that he had totally abandoned her to go to the carnival with her best friend while she was in the hospital dying! Not wanting to upset anyone she just said. "oh... I’m sorry to cut your time short." She forced a smile even though she felt like crying, and she looked over at John, "Welcome back." she said as warmly as she could muster, which was not very.

Beth looked at Lilly, then looked down. "I-its alright, we were done anyways," she replied, stepping back.

John walked over and stood next to Lilly's bed,"Yeah. Whatever... I just wanted to get my mind off of you being mad at me from before..." he said looking at the floor beyond his shoes. John sat slumped down slightly, his legs apart and his arms on either side of the chair, one hand holding his head up,"Yeah... we were done though."

Lilly nodded. She felt awkward and like she deserved the pain she was feeling, like it was her fault things had gone wrong and now she had only made them worse. Her mind wandered to when her brother was being taken to the hospital, they had all piled into John's car and he raced super fast to the emergency room, only to have to wait in the waiting room for over an hour before being permitted to see him, they had all been there and no one had left for a few days. They all loved him, and now that she was here, they did not even feel the need to be with her until they felt like it was more convenient. In truth they were probably sick of it here, neither one of them had a real reason to come anymore, they were not related to Jacob, and they could move on any time they wanted to. But Lilly was stuck with him as her brother, she could never 'move on' he was her only brother and that would never ever change. "I'm sorry, why was I mad at you?" She asked a concerned look on her pale face.

"Well... I think it was me blaming myself for what happened... I wanted to stay around, But you were just so pissed off at me." he said and turned his head so he was looking at her,"I care about you Lilly... I just... I don't want you to be hurt anymore. Your face shouldn't have to be so mad or sad all the time. You deserve to be happy." John said taking her hand in his.

Lilly shook her head. "I am happy." She seemed to be lying more and more lately. She smiled softly. "I'm happy that you came back and I'm happy to have clean clothes from my best friend." She looked over at Beth and gave a real smile this time. "I can't remember why I was upset with you but it was probably my own fault, not something you did. I really do appreciate you being her with me." She leaned forward to kiss his cheek and wrap and arm around his shoulders.

Beth scratched the back of her head, "I-I'ma goin'ta get somcflurry..." she said quickly, her words running together as she slipped out. She tried not to be bothered by Lilly and John being together. She felt bad. She'd kissed John, she'd kissed her best friend's guy. It didn't even cross her mind that he had kissed her first.

John smiled, he was happy that Lilly was happy. He moved so his body was facing her and kissed her lips softly,"I don't care. You're not mad at me anymore and that's all that matters to me."
