The color drained from Callista's face as she felt the power start to leave. She started another set of safeguards to strengthen the one she already had. She spilt her attentions in two, one to keep the shield up and the other to try and build a storm.

"What are you doing?" Valzar asked quietly as he felt the air around them shift. He could feel the creature draining his shield and knew it wouldn't last much longer...sadly he feared she would just do the same to any other shield he tried to throw up.
"Cute trick..." Sangula muttered eying the sky then looking back to the pony. "But we both know you're weak..."

"I'm trying to build a storm. If I can incinerate her, she'll be gone, or I can land a strike to wound her." She sighed. "The shields aren't working. I'm throwing mine down so that I can focus on the storm." She started to arc small lightning bolts from cloud to could. She winced. That wasn't going to be enough to get rid of the vampire, maybe not even enough to wound her.

"It won't work..." Sangula said softly. "You and your shields will be dead and gone long before your storm builds up..."
"She's draining my shield now..." Valzar said quietly.

Callista wanted to scream. "I can't get enough energy up to build a proper storm. I might have been able to if I were at full strength, but I didn't hunt today." She scanned for somewhere that might make the fight a little fairer. "Valzar, do you think we can make it to the denser part of the wood?"

"Yeah...I'm sure of it," Valzar said as he quietly changed tactics, now building up a shield around the vampiress.
Sangula noticed the shift in energies and growled. "Clever little spell caster...just remember, even if you run, I'll still catch you..."

"Let's go then. Can you hold that spell and run?" She started moving slowly in reverse, not wanting to draw too much attention from the vampire. All the sudden she smiled and pointed to the ground. A rod of lightning made it's way down and straight for Sangula.

"Yes, Go!" Valzar nudged her ahead of him as they ran for the denser part of the woods.
Sangula hissed as the lighting shot towards her, forcing her against the boundary of the shield the little warlock had encased her in. She only realized too late that he'd woven a flame spell into the barrier. "I'll kill him!" she hissed focusing her abilities on the shield. "No, I'll kill his little friend and make him watch, Then I'll Kill Him!"

Callista ran for the heart of the woods. She stopped when she hit a thick grove of maple trees and looked back for Valzar. "I think this will do." She jumped up into a tree. "If you can make it up here, we might be able to hide."

"Maybe for a little while," Valzar said glancing back the way they'd come. "But my shield won't hold her forever and she's not going to be happy when she gets out..."

Callista crinkled her nose. "You're right. We need a plan. She doesn't like fire, or lightning, but I don't have the power to build a storm strong enough to kill her or even do serious damage right now. Do you nave any ideas?"

Valzar cringed as he heard an enraged scream from the direction they'd come. "I guess that means she found the second shield I placed..." he said quietly. "I would suggest running."

Callista couldn't help but smile. "You've thought this through. Run it is, then." She jumped down from the tree. "Let's go, there's a a meadow not too far from here, and if we time it right, we could get there a little before the sun rises and wait it out there. I might be able to do some more with the storm by then."

Callista started out, running quickly through the brush and trees. She turned and made sure Valzar was through a wall of brush before she wove a fire safeguard into the brambles.
