Ano...I don't think my real name is necessary but you can call me Naraku. No I'm not an Inuyasha fan...
Anyway...I'm currently 16 years old(for some reason I thought I was 13 for a moment) I've been interested in Japanese culture since I was little.
I started off loving anime and manga and have developed a drawing style that is similar but doesn't take after any specific one. I then moved on to Japanese music, J-rock to be more particular, and practically all the music I listen to is Japanese. Japanese music got me into becoming more serious about playing music as well as getting me to seriously consider learning Japanese.
I've now been studying Japanese for 2 years and I go to classes every Saturday morning and try my best to fit in some Japanese studies into my day school schedule.

Hey I'm ih8u, no, I don't really hate you, but I changed my name when I was mad at my brother and it was my last chance, so yeah. Anyway I'm 11 and know some of the basics of Japanese. I try to study for as long as I can before my brother comes in to bother me. Well... that's all you really need to know so...hi! mrgreen

Hi, I'm Donganoid. I'm "thirteen," but I'm actually eleven. (My old account got caught, so beware, leavemealone!) I love Japanese pop culture and I'm studying Japanese at the moment. Anime and manga got me into Japan, and so I like to draw manga style (go to the art arena to find an example). Just last year I began to collect cute little Japanese dolls called pinky:st. I'm now obsessed with them and am an active member at the pinky forums at pinky-street.com. I try to learn everything I can about culture, but I have minimal resources, so I probably don't know that much.

Oh, I failed to mention that I love Japanese music, especially Jpop. Jrock too. My pink ipod shuffle has been nicknamed my "jpod."

Hi everyone!
My name is Kaya, or you can call me Whit (for my real name, Whitney). I'll also answer to Mai, so pretty much pick your favorite. biggrin
Let's see... I'm, of course, a big fan of anime and manga (particularly the Japanese version of One Piece, since the American was so badly-done), as well as video games. But I've been interested in the culture of Japan since I was about eight or nine years old, and I've been studying up on it and slowly but surely learning the language ever since.
I'm 20 years old, and I'm a sophomore at a university in the southern U.S. I've been taking Japanese for four semesters (two years), and I also took Japanese Culture last spring. I'm looking forward to meeting some Japanese practice partners here! 3nodding

Hey... um... haha I'm Yukikodomo, usually I'm called Mia... or Dork... or Maria... or whatever... ^.^ You're choice, I'll answer to practically anything, as long as I know what it is.
I've been studying Japanese very lightly for about two years now, working off random sites (random sites that I've checked their honesty) and a few pages of notes I got from an exchange friend of mine from Japan. At first it was just like, cool, I know a little Japanese! But now I'm getting so deeply interested in both the language and culture. Along with Japanese I'm studying Spanish (in school, so much heavier courses than what I give myself) and I'm hopefully beiginning French next year. In college I plan on majoring in linguistics and I hope to be a translator as my career afterwards. ^.^
I'm fourteen presently, but will be fifteen in a year, so I can finally get a job and buy some language learning programs to help me. Until then, I've only got random opportunities at classes offered at other schools or a few people to mooch words off of.

Hello, everyone! biggrin You can just call me Raikira. I'm fifteen and I live in America. Some people think I act ten... for some reason, so I'm also used to being treated that way. sweatdrop rofl I don't really mind though.
Anyway, I barely know any Japanese but would be very happy to learn. I guess I started trying to learn when I started writing Naruto fanfiction. It's just a hobby of mine to learn foreign languages. biggrin Unfortunately, however, I'm a totally slow learner. sweatdrop

Konbanwa, minna-san. Watashi wa Louis desu, finrandojin desu. I have been studying Japanese on my own every now and then, but I'm just a beginner. In couple of months I'm a high school graduate, and one of my future plans is to study Japanese and Japan's culture (it's quite hard to get into the university though). Anyways, I'm looking forward to get to know this forum and its members, not to mention the mysterious world of Nippon. o_O. Yoroshiku. mrgreen

Hey there! ^^ My name's Morgan and I'm seventeen years old, living in wonderful Pittsburgh PA. (That wasn't entirely sarcastic, I do like my city.)
You know, I actually had Pimsleur's 'Learn Japanese in Ten Days' program, though I kinda stopped after a couple; I was off visiting family. I don't know why I didn't get back into it because I was actually doing very well, and I'm going to see if I can unearth it and..wait, I even saw another language program I have that includes Japanese.
This will be my third language in progress, being that I'm learning French and German right now. I'm about to take the Oral Proficiency in French which is, essentially, a test to see how well I could properly survive in a French speaking country. My German is nowhere near as good as my French, being that I'm learning it on my own and only just started.
As for Japanese I know even less! I know baby words; konnichiwa, arigato. And that r's sound like d's. (Something I got a good chuckle out of when an anime freak at our school bragged at how well he spoke the language, proceeding to immediately mess up his second or third word, arigato. whee )
I'm sorry, I must have typed the longest introduction you've gotten here at JSG, so I'll wrap things up. This looks like a great guild to get my Japanese skills worked on. heart
