((Legion is presently occupied by managing newbie magi and two groups of Warlock hunters, one of which is unable to even be sensed, and teleportation has a huge energy output, to the point that his location would be revealed by it. Thus, Ted's on his own for the time being.))

Alan sneered back at her.

"I know exactly what I'm talking about, Vassily. My soul was consumed to fuel your resurrection, so don't tell me have no idea what I've said to you." Kayla realized that somehow, Alan was capable of hearing everything Vassily had said. "I've grown in power exponentially since I last saw you. If I had my magic right now, I could end you. I have mastered Shadow's true essence with a thousand years of practice. I can deny you your magic. I can sever your link to hell. I can disconnect you from your senses." He giggled disturbingly. "And even without magic... honestly, do you think that a punch like that means anything to me? Watch and learn." He grabbed his own head and twisted it, with sickening cracks, a full 180 degrees.

360 degress. The skin was beginning to tear.

720 degrees. He collapsed as his arms extended, thrusting his head from his shoulders. Tendrils of Shadow essence connected his neck to his head, and pulled them back together, as good as it had been two minutes ago. The whole process of reconnection took about two seconds.

"Anguish, suffering, sorrow. What defines these to you are minor inconveniences to me," he spat. "Every day, I-"
The beginning of what was undoubtedly another rant was cut short by a gunshot tearing his jaw off. Sam was glaring at him with a revolver in his hand.

"Enough," he growled, teeth gritted. He grabbed Alan and bodily threw him out the door. The jaw followed on a length of Shadow essence. Sam glanced at Kayla apologetically and closed the door behind him, leaving Kayla alone in the now bloody room.

"All right, that went very badly," Josh commented outside. "Alan. What the hell were you doing? You were not to antagonize her."

"That <******** cost me my soul!" he yelled, so loudly Kayla could hear it. "If I had my magic..."

"You're losing control, Alan," Josh commented. "You stabbed her, and now you're going absolutely insane just being around her. Is there some sort of effect on you from being around the Russian's soul?"

"Maybe. But if you think I'm going to just let him go unharmed after what he cost me-"

"That's exactly what you're going to do, Alan," Josh growled, glowing with a bluish aura. "Do not. Antagonize. The prisoners." He sighed and sat in a wooden chair, forehead in his hand. Sam, Paul, either of you feel like talking to her?"

"Nah," Sam answered quickly. "I don't want to go in there. How about you, Josh? Have fun."

Josh shook his head.

"Congratulations, Paul. We nominate you as the only person awake who doesn't have an intense aversion to her. Ready, set, go. Unless you actually do have an intense aversion to her, in which case, never mind."

"Because you conveniently forgot to mention it, you stupid ancient b*****d!" shouted Kayla, unable to keep her dialogue with Vassily completly internal. The furious declaration reached the Hunters outside the room in which Kayla was captive, though they missed the rest of the conversation. It ran something like this:

"Because you conveniently forgot to mention it, you stupid ancient b*****d!"
He seemed genuinely shocked by the strength of her outburst. Normally she was controlled and sarcastic, once he thought back he realized he'd never seen her truly angry before.
welcoming it. You though I wouldn't be upset when I found out?>

She waited impatiently, feeling some of her rage boil off. After a few moments of silence, she cut in again.

Kayla had a sudden flash of a man standing at a cliffside and a woman who looked eerily like her. She had forgotten about those dreams, but they came flooding back. She nodded silently.
Kayla raised an eyebrow, impressed. Vassily was even more restless than she was, so that was saying something. His voice cracked slightly. He halted for a moment.
Kayla's voice was gentle, as she realized that he might never stop. He'd never spilled anything to her before, and she thought he'd forgotten how to dam off the flow. She felt a mix of sadness and anger. She'd been able to deny that Vassily had been one of the bad guys for a long time. If he was to be trusted, he had gone down a less dark path at the end. But he'd snapped right back to his power-grubbing was the moment Legion's letter had arrived. She sat down on the bed, and flopped to her back, having no desire to think about it for a while.

Paul shrugged. "I'd try to get out of it by saying I'm married, but seeing as everyone else hates her for her warlock, whatever." He stood up, regretted it almost instantly, and went back through the door.

"Ah... sorry about that. I dunno what he was doing in here, but it didn't look particularly pleasant from where I was standing," Paul said. A bit of a lame conversation starter, but heck, he hardly even knew what he was trying to get out of her. If anything. Granted, he had heard a fair bit of their conversation through the wall, since they'd been shouting the majority of it, but that didn't give him much of a lead.

"Again, sorry. Is there anything in particular that you need?" he asked.

Yeah, but that's at least partially because I missed the part about what they need to know.

We can hope.

When he awoke, he had the mother of all headaches. And when he noticed the destruction around him, it only got worse. Then he remembered his wife and daughter. Kyoko, Ayame. But his mournings were cut short when he felt a tug deep in his mind, and he was compelled to follow the tug.

There was a letter in his hand. He looked at it. "Legion" was scribbled across in wavy, curling calligraphy. When he managed to focus his attention on it, a sharp pain overtook him. He regained awareness in the middle of a city, probably L.A. judging by the buildings, the climate, and the Hispanics.

Then, his Warlock Soul contacted him. Hey moron. Pay attention.

She didn't bother sitting up. "I need a sandwich. And a proper interrogation, I don't know even know why the hell I'm here." She stared at a crack in the ceiling. She was feeling suddenly bitter in the aftermath of her argument. She turned her head to the side , catching sight of who was talking to her. "ipod man. You've got a warlock, I saw you doing magic"

((Magnavar, that's not quite how I'd like to have it go... I'll PM you a fixed post.))

((Yeeeeaaaahhhh.... Energy dissipates at the square of distance...

By the way, is mista venom gonna add the say, 4 profiles that are unposted? Oooh, that would be nice, we says... Bu will it happen? Nooooo...))

((Some day, I might add them. Shush.
On energy dissipation: Legion, in moving himself instantaneously from L.A. to god-knows-where, and then back, would certainly output enough energy for the Hunters within the city to locate his primary base - and once they know where it is, the magic-based concealment is much less effective.
If you're referring to Legion feeling the energy blast - that, he wouldn't feel, nor would he need to - he can sense the awakening of the Warlock Souls. How do you think he knew to send you letters? xd ))

((Ah, kay))

Samuel turned at the opening of the doors to view the newcomer. His gaze was hard as he looked at her, looking for combat ability that might or might not be there. She wore a tank top and long gloves, and seemed to be quite confident. Was this newcomer to be part of a team to be used to strike at the Hunters? Ah well, might as well view all of the others as temporary companions, really. They might not all survive many of the battles that Legion would put them through. Sad, really...

"Sandwich. Interrogation." He paused for a moment. "Yeah... iPod man, I suppose," he said. For a moment there was an awkward silence before Paul added, "As for the interrogation... I'm not entirely sure why you're here either. I do know that the people here, whether or not they will admit it, are all fighting for the better of mankind." Pausing again, as though looking for the right words, Paul glanced away. "Ah... I'll get you something," he said.

Exiting the room, he turned to Josh, Sam, and Alan. "Two things. First of all, where is the food, and second of all, what exactly is it that you want to know?"

"Well, we're not aiming for specific information right now... we're just trying to get her calmer after the screaming match with Alan. And the food is in there." Josh then pushed Paul back in gently.

Paul was sure the kitchen extension hadn't been there before. Crazy high-level mages and their tampering-with-dimensions.

Kayla made herself a tuna sandwich. She did everything, opening the can, mixing the tuna with mustard and sweet relish instead of mayonaise, and finishing it all off with a cheese melt, with such methodical precision that she would have probably dropped into her trance had she been able to. Only after she'd eaten every last crumb did she move on at all. She walked to the door and rapped sharply on it three times. "I'd like to see the manager!"

Josh opened the door; Alan was nowhere to be seen. Linda was sleeping face-down on a rug off to the side.

"Is there a problem?" he asked.
