I need help. gonk today I've been assigned to piccolo in my band and i want to know if the fingerings are the same. Coming from a flutist of 8 years and a piccolo player for 5 of those years, yes the fingering chart is the same; however, there are some alternate fingerings you can use depending on your piccolo's particular quirks to assist in tuning XD (which, in and of itself, is almost IMPOSSIBLE to do) If you need anything, be sure to PM me ^^ Thanks! Lol, I must assist in ceasing this madness! Ack, with a school instrument, there's little to nothing you can do. Probably decades of abuse in marching band. or worse. our 2 piccs dont play. one has a broken Ab key. the other... well i dont even know where its at< smile

If you want a piccolo of your own...go to your local music store and rent one.It only cost about $30 a month. You can turn it in when your are finished with high school or if you want to keep it then it will be paid off in 3 years. I did this and it was well worth it to have one of my very own. I love my PIC!!!!!!!

[Shudders] I can't imagine two picc players in our band.
I'm the only one for mine, and if I had to stay in tune with another player I don't think I could do it. I'm usually a bit on the flat side.=/
Anyways, yay for us flute/picc players! 8]

OMG FLUTES OTHER THAN ME!!!!!!!
There aren't very many flutes in the band at my school,only....4 in marching band,5 in the total HS band.I'm glad there's other flutes here,that's awesome!We should take over the low brass...
Hey a girl can dream can't she?No,I wouldn't do that...maybe.So how long has everyone else played the flute?

I love my PIC!!!!!!! That sounds really bad. one time last year a girl dropped her flute and it messed up her foot joint so bad that she had to get a new foot joint. We just got a bunch of percussion stuff. EVERY one was excited about it. Now we have nice stuff. If only the percussion would learn how to play it right... I have my own flute. I LOVE MY FLUTE.
