Obviously Gem was upset and Thobias blinked for a moment then realized why. He'd left without a word to her. "It is indeed. And I understand why you're upset. I had a...meeting to attend. It seemed wiser to keep you in the dark about it in case I was being double crossed." Which he had been but when dealing with Fang, there really were no surprises.
Cyvalor only took Jae's attempts to protect him as encouragement. Responding instantly, he reached behind her and petted her tail as well. "I knew you liked me!" Nuzzling the spot his height would let him reach, he gave her a happy grin with shining eyes.

"Ah." Well that informative, still it was kind of sad, if the land could bring itself back then this plane would flourish a lot better. "Still it wouldn't hurt to see all of this healed, it's sad to just see desert all day with no end." Though when it seemed that a man who was away came aboard the ship Logan raised an eyebrow in wonder to the reactions of everyone. So he turned back to the white dragoness for a moment. "So I guess you're the only dragon on this trip?"

"I could just replace you if you're wanting to go off and I have to hear such things from dragonesses." Frowning still...that was indeed the one thing that she hated. Hearing it second hand only really made it worse as well. "In the dark I can't see, if I can't see I can't help myself now can I? Get my deck scrubbed Mister Robins, we're leaving port."
She startled lightly as he pet at her tail, still not comfortable with his touching but she tried to let him think otherwise on that fact so he'd remain a happy little dragonling. But apparently she just gave him mixed signals. Grinning at him a bit nervously she pet between his horns again. "What's not to like about you." Turning a look to Logan and shaking her head. "No. Cyvalor here is coming. And Desdemona travels on the Chimera and my compa-....commander, Kaznec is a dragon folk as well. That's what we call ourselves.

"No." He should have left a bloody note. Something that told her not where he was going but that he was going. Then she couldn't be so upset about it, now could she? Which reminded him that he needed to send one to his grandfather before they shipped out again. He knew the man called this atoll home when he wasn't off plundering or doing whatever else. "Right away, M'lady." He knew better than to enlist too much help from her others since they were off doing other things. No, he'd be the one down on his hands and knees polishing the wood the only way the pirates could. But first...
Someone's after you. I don't know who and I don't care to know what you've wrapped yourself up in. Leave me and mine alone and deal with it yourself.
Thobias
Whistling for one of the many mangy dogs roaming the streets and tucking the note into his collar, he sent the mutt off. And then went to get a bucket and scrub brush. Bloody punishments.
"That's what I asks meself all the time." Glancing at Logan and shaking her head. "He's not her c'mander. He's her man." Making a face at at that. "But I'll still fight him for her!"

Teach sat in his little room, looking at the note. A smirk on his face. he knew who was after him. he knew the second the Burning Prince had come out of the sands. Hunter's time was running out. But this note did give him pause. Hunter knew his relationship to Thobias, which meant he was more then willing to use his family as leverage against him. But like Hunter, he had no intention of going quietly into the night, or to the depths under Jones' command.
Hunter was sitting in his cabin, pouring drinks for him and Desdemona, while discussing that very subject.
"If I can get him to the open sands, I can save my soul in exchange for his."
"But he's been a loyal friend and confidant for years. Is it really worth it? Isn't there another method out of this bargain you struck?"
Taking a drink and watching him carefully, still not in the loop on what the deal was for.
"If I could get Jone's chest. other then that, my options as per our renegotiation are to turn you over, or bring down the black dragon. Neither of which I am willing to do or can accomplish since those star eyed brats won't help."
settling back down.
"The original plan was to get Teach to go out to save Thobias from Fang. Now that deal is out the window, and if Thobias knows about Teach, he's probably informed him of it. which means Teach will be expecting me so I can go barging in with guns blazing."
"I could try seducing him, drug him, and throw him in the brig before he wakes."
setting her glass aside, and crossing her legs lightly.
"Was it worth all this trouble?"
"The deal? yes. I had expected to find the heart by now though to force it to a moot point. Perhaps that compass Savvy has can be setup to find it, but she'd sooner walk down the gullet of a goliath worm then help me. and hte male give me the distinct feeling of a mercenary or a hired killer. which means he'd probably charge some outrageous price I couldn't afford to meet since me and the necromancer aren't exactly on the best of terms."

Logan nodded at Jaebelltiah and then blinked, it almost sounded like she said...and then the little one had to blurt it out. Logan's eyes looked back at the white dragon again and he gave a small nod once more. "Well then at least you're not alone on this little trip." He gave a shrug before he looked around the ship itself, he never been on one before so this was a different setting for him. "How does this ship sail on the sands anyway? Does it take a certain kind of magic?" His sense of smell was giving him a bit of mixed signals, old wood for sure but there was something poking at him for some odd reason, was it the sand?

"Tugging her hat one she got the 'I'm about to bark orders' look. "Ice! Get on the crow's nest, Treasure I want you to go to my cabin and get Ice my maps!" Pointing to Logan then just to get the point across. "Get to the men on the rigging and help out as needed for now." Thusly hopping up to her helm and giving a loud whistle with her fingers. "ALright boys! Time for bootstraps and get yourself together whip quick! Give me my sails at full! We're leaving now and not a second later!"
She gave a grin and shook her head again. "You'll fight anyone, won't you?" Though she startled again when all of a sudden Gem seemed none too happy at all. "Seems like you're about to find out." Thusly turning Cyvalor around and giving him a little push. "Quick so I can get up to the crows's nest." Mindful that he probably couldn't fly yet. Gliding was the best he could do."
Savvy's ears twitched at the shrill whistle that penetrated the air and she turned her attention that direction. "Chy." The falcon giving a screech before his eyes glowed a second. Well well...looked like that ship was sailing...and Savvy would be damned if she was staying on Hunter's ship. After all, he wasn't interested in what she had and the commander was...and her daddy taught her to always go with what was more profitable to her. Heading below deck she walked to her stuff and started to pack it up, casting a look to Kelligrin. "I'm off this thing." All that she said as she pulled on her pack and headed back top deck, giving a whistle for her horse.

Self-reflection... While not always the best thing to do when faced with tragedy in the long run, it seemed like it was the only thing he could do. And it worked to soothe his frayed nerves and let his mind ease off certain questions at least. The silence helped too. Not physical silence since he'd let himself wander off into the atoll after Jae had left him, but mental silence. Nothing but the sound of rushing wind in his ears now as he circled the atoll. But the moans and groans of slowly moving woodwork soon brought his attention back down from the clouds to a tight focus. The Gale Claw was leaving? Brows pulling together, he turned in that direction before meeting the elf upon her flaming horse-like... thing in midair. The magic-generated heat didn't bother him, but the intangibility of the creature did, so he kept his distance even as he called out to her. "Savryn, the Gale Claw appears to be abandoning port. Have you given the coordinates of the next shard to Captain Gem?"

Logan had received his first orders from Captian Gem, they didn't seem bad and besides with some of his skills he would be able to help out a lot better around the ship than one might think. So Logan gave a small nod to Gem before turning and heading off to the rigging, when he got there he did get looks of course but all he did was shout out that Gem wanted the ship to move so they needed to stop staring and get on it. Soon enough Logan finally started at the new hired 'helper'.

"For you? Of course!" But blinking as he was being told to do things and he snapped to attention. "Her cabin?" Pointed in the right direction, he scampered off and found the maps easily enough presenting them to Jae proudly. "I found 'em! Here ya go."
If she thought she was leaving him behind she had another think coming. Grabbing his own stuff, he headed up on deck and followed her then swallowed at the sight of that horse. Hated horses. Grumbling quietly to himself, he settled in behind her, holding her waist to keep himself from sliding off and let her take off. The other captain could stay behind and deal with the little problem he'd created. They were off to better and bigger things. Kaz got his attention and he frowned. Who was this big, bad dragon and where had he been all this time?
Eilynne smiled at the sight of Captain Nereem heading forth and gave a nod to Rahsaveer. They didn't have the time to waste on Jones whom she could snuff out with the press of a finger. These humans thought they were worth something but in fact they were nothing more than tools. "Follow. Captain Hawk can be abandoned to his fate. If he can't beat the ship, we'll carry on without him."

She had let Kel settle merely because she knew he didn't really have another way of getting places. That in mind though she had taken to the air without question, but Cosmyk did startle a little at the dragon. "No I haven't given her anything...I have a feeling some bumbling pirates just pushed a woman too far and she's had enough." Seemed the commander was indeed going to take her up on the offer of her little ability to find shards...good for him. Gave her more reason to leave as well.
She grinned to him and took the maps, "Good job Cyvalor. Now I need your help. You stand down here and listen to what I say with your sharp ears. Repeat it loud so Gem can hear it just in case she doesn't hear me." Thusly splaying her wings and giving a little jump into the air, batting her wings to get some altitude and get into the crows nest and settling in, shoving open maps. "Ready Captain!"
She was grumbling to himself under her breath. If Richards thought a diamond the size of her fist was going to keep her in port when this stunt had been pulled on her then he was wrong. "Northwest was the course we were given and northwest is the way we're getting out of here. Riders be damned! Shoot any on sight if they happen to pop about." Pointing a finger to the little blue neutral formed dragon as she had slipped and fallen with the sudden movement. "Someone get little blue up and someplace out of the way or to work!"
Sitting out in the sands he couldn't help but chuckle as he watched the going ons. Oh humans...they always made their own beds. It was delightful.

Desdemona shook her head lightly.
"Gem's leaving us."
Hunter shrugged.
"She won't make it. Fang is waiting for her, and since that mishap screwed up the dealings, he's not going to abide by it. Her ship isn't going to be able to outmatch the Serpent coming out of port. Especially now, if what Richard's said is true."
Desdemona raised an eyebrow.
"what did he say?"
"The black dragon obviously has dealings with fang. his ship is outfitted in black dragonscale. Gem's no match for him now even with speed on her side. so unless those little annoyances interfere, Gem won't make it out of port. And I have other things to worry about."
"Speaking of which. what are you going to do?"
Desdemona got up and walked out on deck, watching Gem's ship...and noting something that shouldn't be there...and narrowed her eyes. Not happy at all.
Hunter walked out on deck, and left the ship.
"Going to do what I should have done in the first place."
Richards shook his head lightly, watching Gem and everyone abandon the Chimera for the Gale Claw.
"I hope those little people will interfere...your not going to make it out Gem. not with those two in league with eachother."
Fang watched through his spyglass, and gave a nod to his first mate.
"Captain Nereem is on the move. since they skimped out on our little dealings, taking to hiding under the ground, She doesn't make it out. Code be damned, besides, there's no one out here to enforce it. I'm the law out in these sands."
closing the spyglass, and preparing his guns...and setting an intercept course. She wasn't leaving port yet.

Of course, sarcasm and/or vague answers didn't help him much but he focused on the first part. "And yet, the Chimera shows no sign of leaving as well..." Which was interesting but he gave her a nod that she couldn't see. "Once we get back to the ship then, can you can provide her with the coordinates to the next shard? There's much time to be caught up on." Which was partially his own doing since his little depressing trip down memory lane but it was time to be focused again, remember what he was out here to do.

"Because of a deal Hawk made with another ship. That ship will be coming to collect on it and Hawk has limited time to get what he needs. I don't think he can leave without it."
He was always ready to help the lovely Jaebelltiah and he took her directions and nodded, standing there and waiting for the first thing to shout out. "She said she's ready Cap'n!" Seemed a good idea to repeat that.
Thobias took control there, walking over and helping Sky up. "Can you clean decks, Sky? Just get down like this and scrub." Handing her a brush and pulling the bucket over. Cyvalor was taking his job for the moment and he knew better than to stop before the deck was clean. Of course if something went wrong he'd be back in first mate position lickety split. Fang had promised and that meant they should be safe.

He was already aware of what was going to happen. Fang never intended to abide by the deal set forth, it was never in the snake's nature. Neerem was a constant distraction for the stupid human as well. He would imagine the second she tried to leave without the other ship for whatever reason that Fang would jump at the opportunity. Like a young dragon at a beast too big to get it's jaws around. Fang was stupid as any other human and never listened to advice that was given for their own protection. He warned Fang and by the looks of things on Fang's ship...he was going to not care for that warning of family and boundaries. Getting himself out of the sand he made his own movement across it as the sun was starting to head down, a swirl of black mist and he back down to his compact form once more, taking to the air and heading toward where commotion was about to break loose.
His flight was quick and his nephew would come to find him next to the red and black in that neutral state that he did hate so much but needed at times. "You're going with them, yes?" More or less already knowing the answer to that and his gaze hardened. "Be quick, snakes are in the sand and port leavings are slow." Watching the boy a moment before he gave another beat of wings to head off and away from the atoll, a swirl of black mist giving him back his natural state once more and he landed in the sides, watching the two ships as he was inbetween them. Damnable Fang...one stipulation in their own deal and he couldn't live by it because of his own arrogance and obsessive drive. He'd have to deal with all these damn pirates himself.
"A woman scorned is never one to stick around. Decon is making his bed with thorns at the moment and bribery only covers so much." Shaking her head but nodding to Kelligrin's answer as well before ears were back on Kaz's voice. "Yes I can. The betting chips are all on your side commander. I gave you your chance, let's see you take it with me where others were too prideful to." Giving the fiery winged nightmare a kick to get her going once more.
If Desi hadn't of told her about what had happened, she'd probably be more level headed about things right now. But her blood was boiling and she didn't care. If people wanted off her ship and go back to Hunter's to do whatever it was the hell they wanted to do then they could. She'd be happy to toss them over her railings herself. A grin to Cyvalor though, knowing that a good chew thristed for vindication. "That's a lad! Keep everything in line for me! The rest of you pick up your feet! Ice I want a course charted quickly!"
Her strategist ways kicked in quickly at orders being given, by her commander or his father or not this was a time when who was boss wasn't the biggest of worried. Quickly scanning over charts she was plotting that course without question. Guesses were all she had to trust though seeing as beyong that map edge they had no idea what was really waiting for them. "Straight on to the edge of the world Captain!" So to speak, Gem would know what that meant. But a look out over the sands and sharp vision caught sight of the dark shape even against the darkening skies. Amber eyes widened a moment before she regained herself. "Captain! The Serpent's come calling!" Knowing Cyvalor would give that over despite her own words lost to gathering wind in sails she continued in her quick yet not rash decision making. Had to get out of this port faster. A look around and she made more quick decisions...she was small enough. Hopping down ran over to Robins and Sky, grabbing them up and pulling them with her. "We're small enough." Running up to the back of the boat she pulled Thobias to the edge and then hopped over the railing with Sky. "Robins trust me! I need your eyes!"
Thusly a look to Sky as they plopped in the sand and she grabbed the dragoness by her shoulders. "Sky listen to me. I need you to change. Remember how to change? You have to do it with me. I know you're mad at me but you have to do this." Pointing up to where her nose was telling her Kaz was. "You have to help me, to help him. Okay?" Getting a little nod from the dragoness it was a matter of blue and silver mist and they were in natural form just behind the ship. Both of their small sizes meant they could fit in the dock sleeves and behind the ship. Pushing Sky to her feet, she got up herself and braced her horms and and snout against the back of the Gale Claw. "Come on Sky, push with me. If we push they'll go faster and everyone will be safe." Seeing compliance in the smaller dragon she called out to to Thobias. "Robins! Keep us straight in line with departure angle!" They would have their heads down so someone had to do it.
She wasn't liking this at all...but she was understanding. That big ship was the one that was trying to hurt them all. A look up to Kaznec and then she was pushed to her paws and watching once more. Oh she used to do that a lot! And it would help! Padding up next to the white she braced her head in similar fashion, digging claws into the sand to start pushing as well.
