Joe forwarded the thought to the Djinn and the Fists. Any ideas, guys?

A Masker, maybe, the Djinn suggested. They gain the powers and skills, but not the memories, of the last thing they killed. A stunner would allow him - well, it, if it was a Masker - to take down enemies without losing his abilities. And that would explain how it suddenly became a normal human with no mana sign.

Makes sense, Joe thought. And hey, you learned to talk! That's good. Is it just because I'm here in Crossover, or is that you?

I... what? You didn't even move towards my plane. You went past my plane. We're the Tier up from the Spheres. You're farther from it than you were before. And I was able to advance our connection to being capable of words a while ago.

No, I mean you can actually form a coherent sentence. Joe smiled. Hey, when can I come meet you? I'd definitely like to.

Like I said, Gaza Strip. Not such a good idea. I can find a more secure zone deeper in Israel for us to meet if you'd like, but I'd prefer not to risk you.

Hmm. You'd know better than I; what should I do? Joe began to usher the people off the plane. "Jacob, think you can transfer them and us back to the real world?"

You're not cozy with the Sages, you should stay the hell away from the Middle East. They run the show there.

But if that's true, then how don't they have the leyline yet? And I mean, I'm willing to do what you want me to do. Once I get back and complete this mission, I've got some stuff to take care of, but after that I don't mind working for you full-time. By now, he had most of the plane outside and organized into lines, to make it easier for Jacob to transfer them.

Because the leyline is the last major bastion of Djinn power. It's our last defensive point and it's our home. We will never surrender it.
However... the Djinni have made... a decision. We want Iblis to meet with the Councilors of the Warlock Hunters, the Demon Hunters, and Humanity.
The Titan's Fists had a confused tone. What do you want with the Hunters' Coven?
Iblis shall explain there.

Joe raised a mental eyebrow. Can you at least tell us if it's good or bad?

Not sure I like the sound of that. But hey, what can I do, right? He paused for a moment. Hey wait...what exactly is my standing among the Djinni?

You're the first truly receptive human we've made contact with in ages. You're a curiosity, for now, but I see grand potential in you.

Joe couldn't help smiling in elation. Thank you! That means a lot, I know it. He was flattered. He was also just a little bit loopy from the amount of mana in the air. Ahh well.
