I don't know if any of you living in the UK, Canada or America have heard about this, but there's a huge firestorm in Victoria right now. Over 150 people have already died and the fires are still burning out of control.

I saw a photo on chinese newspaper of a firefighter feeding a burnt koala water from a bottle. It was surreal.

 Apparently the photo wasn't from this years bushfire, but they put it in the paper anyway.

Actually the photo was taken a day before the main bushfires began. It occured in a place that had suffered a small bushfire only a short while before, and the CFA volunteer had also been busy backburning. So it's still a legitimate photo of a firefighter helping a stricken Koala, even though it wasn't part of the bushfire disaster.

Indeed. Extremely good publicity. The Koala in the picture, Sam, is probably the most famous Koala in the world now.
What is even funnier is that Sam has found a fellow Koala called Bob, and the two of them are now a couple. xd

UPDATE ON VICTORIAN BUSHFIRES: A fire has broken out today only 6 or so km southeast of where I live. At the moment it isn't heading in my direction, but I pray to god the wind doesn't blow it to the west.
