As they say, Ed is seriously ed.. So many teenage hippie wannabes.
No point in trying to argue ilegal immigration when many of refuse to see the social problems constructed or that every country has the right to protect its own boarders.
I can see why Niph feels fustrated.
Not worth our time.

Well I hope y'all don't mind if I vent a bit. I gave myself quite a scare back there. I had over-estimated my losses based on this recession.
As it turns out, the Donation Items Museum is not only inaccurate but a poor reference for current prices! The marketplace gave me far better numbers:
- Devil Tail currently approx. 20 mil. - Angelic Sash currently approx. 25 mil. - Dark Halo currently approx. 176k - OMG currently approx. 7mil.
Sadly, I wasn't aware of just how far reaching this whole global recession is... it seems ye olde Gaian markets are just as volatile. Based on those numbers, compared with my last check in May 2008, I think I may have lost est. ~7mil in value from the Devil Tail alone, ~4mil on the Angelic Sashes...
Thankfully, the Angelic Sash and the Dark Halo hoards are doing better. Somewhat of a positive offset in those "markets" but wow, I can't believe just how bad the 2003 items are doing.

Well at least for most of the bigger items, I found the ol' GCG price guide showing the Nov 2004 prices with the DT @ 3.5mil, Sash @ 2.1mil, and OMG @ 740k. Since that's close to our original acquisition prices it's likely that this market correction or hit should still keep us in good company.

*stares at figures* Wow, you and your brother take the Gaian trading market seriously don't you? rofl Still, I guess you've proved a point that even the Gaia economy has been hit hard by the global recession.

Minielf *stares at figures* Wow, you and your brother take the Gaian trading market seriously don't you? rofl Still, I guess you've proved a point that even the Gaia economy has been hit hard by the global recession. Well we used to be alot more serious, nowadays it seems we're content periodically watching the value of investments take us through an emotional roller-coaster of sorts. In the good ol' days, we'd be actively exchanging and vending -- now it's just taking a stab at what seems to be the good investment vehicle (i.e. donation item vs event item). In the end, it just boils down to some fun ol' sibling competition using very different strategies. Current result: Andrew's diversification strategy is seemingly the better one for the time being.

I was going rant a bit about my plummeting self esteem due to me being an extremely boring teen, but suddenly those impossible figures of gaian gold has made me feel slightly better.

I have one question though: Do you and your brother invest in real world stocks? It sounds as if you both have experience with finance and investment. Even if its a virtual economy, the Gaia trading market still follows real world rules.

I'm more into the value of pure natural resources considering i'm an environmental scientist... I would invest in properties, lands, and minerals. Regardless of the market conditions, people still need natural resources to survive so that will never crash... or i hope it doesn;t pirate pirate pirate pirate pirate pirate pirate burning_eyes

it sucks liking someone who doesn't even like you back. ESPECIALLY when he's your BEST FRIEND. I've liked him......for, what? - 2 1/2 years now.
it'd be nice to get over him (which I'm having trouble with) so I can move on and have opportunities to date other guys. since I've liked him, I had to turn down all these guys b/c my best friend was something I wanted but something I couldn't have.
(it's just too damn bad that most guys want to go out with me b/c they think I'm "hott". NOT INTERESTED!)
I'm sick of......guys.
LOVE SUCKS BAWLS! D;

cold_blooded_chick That the gaian market can be affected by the global recession is mind boggling. neutral How come? The Gaian economy operates just like any other real world capitalist economy. And, since it is firmly tied to the real world, not just through Gaia cash, but also the effort needed to earn gold, it makes sense that a recession in the real world would effort the Gaian market just as hard. Besides, real world stock markets are founded on the same principles of virtual money and virtual items just as Gaia is.
