Lina gingerly touched the door, opening it slowly. Salen, let his hands fall near the hilt of his katana, pretty to release it at a moments notice. Any fool alive new that an old base would be riddled with traps to keep people away, and Troden was known for them to be very dangerous.
Here we go... Salen thought, frowning slightly.

Remus pulled out his guns again. He made sure the safety was off, then pointed the gun into the space Lina created as she opened the door.

She opened the door wide and quickly stepped to the side, her hands tightenign around her daggers as she did so. But nothing was happening so far.
Salen sighed in relief before becoming wary once again. The sounds of someone's footsteps echoing throughout the house was beginning to worry him. He dearly hoped that it wa sonly Lina moving.

Remus edged into the open door, his black coat blending in with the surrounding shadows. He hid just inside the entrance. His ears rose as he heard the footsteps and he watched the hallway carefully, his guns trained on the direction of the noise.

Lina looked at the ceiling and frowned. The base had two stories, so the steps could be anywhere. Big spaces produce the most echoes... she thought, growling lightly, "It may be anywhere, so be careful." she said as she began to walk slowly into the base.

"Understood." Remus's voice was low and quiet. He moved quickly and silently, moving from shadow to shadow. His eyes shone brightly in the darkness as he kept looking for the source of the footsteps.

((So y'all are in Troden's old base eh? Time to play... ninja and thanks Lyra for doing that for me. I'll take over now...))
The footsteps seemed to slow down the deeper they went inside, sometimes near enough to be over their heads and at other times seemed to be right behind them thanks to the echoes. To one not used to this, it could be very unnerving and make them jumpy.

And this was where Lina's cool personality was being used at its best. She listened carefully to the sounds, ignoring the light ones and concentrating on the heavier sounds, the ones that could be making the echoes bounce around them. But either way, this was not her natural area and the sounds were starting to get to her.

Remus didn't like it at all. He did his best, but the echoes were proving to difficult for him to pinpoint. He tried to focus more on his sight in an attempt to compensate for this.

Lina went towrds the stairs signalling for Remus and Salen to continue searchingdownstairs as she disappeared, her own footsteps light and barely heard over the ones they were searching for. Someone was playing with their minds for the sound was too deliberate to be normal. Lina growled lightly as she looked up at the top of the stairs.

A cat weaved its way around Tien's legs then trotted off, heading to Nocturne, disappearing into the shadow of the building as if it were swallowed up.

Remus nodded to her and hung a right. He bolted to the next shadow, suppressing a growl as the footsteps made him jump.
When are those damn things going to stop!?

Tien looked down and smirked, gesturing for Jen to follow him as he went after the cat.
The steps were neither upstairs nor downstairs, but on the roof. Each one slow and carefully aimed to make the greatest noise. The sound of a woman laughing gently floated inside of the house..somehow.

A shiver ran down Remus's spine at the sound of the laughter. His hackles rose and he entered a battle stance. He whispered softly to himself. "Where are you...?"

Upon entering Nocturne, Tien and his companion would be smacked by an almost invisible force of the music. Nocturne was pumping and enthustiastically at that. The mixed crowd of undead and mortal were dancing drinking talking....drinking. The cat was nowhere to be seen.
Magnolia was standign behind the door, she shivered a bit when she spotted the ones she was to bring to Merlin. She stepped forward, careful not to look at the man directly, "If you'd follow me." She said then gestured and turned and started away.
