Friday and saturday (feb 8,9) was all-county and it was so much FUN!
altho we have 14 hrs of rehersal then concert, i got to meet my bff's boyfriend who goes to the other school in our county we hung out ALL weekend, after the concert i came home and accidently fell asleep, the woke up at 8:45pm and went skating with my bff and her BF

Hiya fluties. heart I'm not sure if anyone still remembers me but I used to hang around here back in the day.
Anyway, I'm out of high school band now and I'll be starting college at the end of March. I'll be only taking private lessons for a little while and then I'll start band again in the fall. I really miss my high school band, especially since my boyfriend and all my friends are still there, but I'm excited to major in music ed. heart

Iam_Nobody17 Edwards_little_apple Yeah, i noticed that too. Unfortunately, over the years, the flute has been considered a 'girl's instrument'. Some guys just want to avoid the whole fighting sexuality thing. Which sucks, cause a guy looks sexy when playing a flute...especially when they're really good. That's my opinion since the flute is so gentle and mystical, depending on what song you play. lol i think you are right everyone thinks the flute is a "girl" instrument not so i dont belive in all this seperate everything by ur sex thing i mean what is their problem!??!?!?!? it makes me mad sometimes i was thinking the next instrument i should learn will be the flute i play alto sax. Thank you! Sadly, we've lost a lot of boy flute players because they keep getting insulted or teased because of their instrument. Not cool!

And what the football players and cheerleaders don't realize is that we will be playing our instruments all our lives but when they are older they won't even be able to run or do the splits....HA!!! HA!!!

I'm a flute player!! and I just got a piccolo this December!! the only thing I have to do is work on the way my lips are shaped...what's that word "aumbersher"? I'm sure that's not how you spell it... ^_^and does anyone know how a Cb -C flat is fingered?

i play an open-holed flute...its pretty awesome.i argue with many people whether flute is the best instrument or not...but i truly belive it is. mrgreen

blue_eyed_blonde8 i play an open-holed flute...its pretty awesome.i argue with many people whether flute is the best instrument or not...but i truly belive it is. mrgreen I wish I had started out on an open-holed flute but my band director did not require it. The sound is much clearer. Also, one can't hardly go from closed to open after one has been playing for a while. I tried it and i just can't do it. My flute is open-holed but it has the plugs. I try practicing with them out but as a general rule I play with the plugs in. Good luck!!!
