@Shade: Black gold.

@Evil: I'm actually a British ghost. Because my name is using British slang. So, like... Boo, bruv.
It's the gritty reboot you need AND deserve.
~
In other news, I just downloaded Tales of Xillia. It will be the first Tales game I will have played since ToS2 released nearly six years ago. It will also only be the 4th Tales game overall I have played, the others being Tales of Destiny (though I never beat it), ToS, and ToS2, of course. Pretty excited. I haven't been around to garner your guys and gals thoughts on the game, so what do y'all think of it?

As for Tales of Xillia, it's pretty dang good. The plot is good, there's a pretty good cast of party members (on the smaller side this time, though), and there are some good skits. As per Talesiness regulations, the battles are pretty fun. I like how everybody has their own unique mechanic... I'm especially fond of Jude's Snap Pivot and Rowen's Arte Tuning. Useful and awesome. Also, FAST TRAVEL.

My birthday has been awesome! Co-workers surprised me with a cupcake and singing Happy Birthday. And now I'm enjoying some Domino's, a sundae from Sonic, cake....and being spoiled with gifts. whee

@Sirea: Happy belated birthday. What gifts didja get?
~
@Evil: I'm having a pretty dang good time with it. My only complaint is there hasn't been a single puzzle filled dungeon yet. Then again, I'm only 8 hours in, so maybe that's still off. Other than that, yeah, a pretty dang good time. Fun battles, likeable characters, a story that has yet to really pick up, but is intriguing none-the-less. The art style, especially the landscapes, are especially gorgeous. Loving the sweeping vistas. Also digging the Asian inspired soundtrack. Customization is pretty lightweight compared to ToS', but as I get older, I find simplification is more appealing to me.
So far, so good.
Now, have you played Tales of Graces f as well? Cause if so, which game do you prefer?

Gaia-wise, I got Flower Power, Hatofowl, Equine Broseph, Sweetest Petshop. :3 In real life, I got a stuffed penguin, a jar of candy, a couple bags of Swedish Fish, and a giftcard. I was hoping for more Warriors books, but I'm not complaining. XD

Sirea Angelie My birthday has been awesome! Co-workers surprised me with a cupcake and singing Happy Birthday. And now I'm enjoying some Domino's, a sundae from Sonic, cake....and being spoiled with gifts. whee Very nice. A happy birthday to you once again. *Just As Planned face* Ohohohoho, twice again! Double happy birthdays and such! 60 Thou Goes Ghost @Evil: I'm having a pretty dang good time with it. My only complaint is there hasn't been a single puzzle filled dungeon yet. So far, so good. Now, have you played Tales of Graces f as well? Cause if so, which game do you prefer? Yeah, the dungeons and areas are generally simpler. I like my dungeons easier than Legend of Zelda ones puzzle-wise, but Xillia could stand to have some different stuff there. It's a good thing that the combat's so fun. Seriously, I play casters way more than usual in this one (I usually go physical in these things). Everybody's interesting to play as, and they're all interesting in the skits and stuff too. Good times. Indeed, the areas and music are good. Dat music. DAT MUSIC. Wait, what about the orbs? That has more customization potential than EX gems, if you ask me. Well, I guess you don't have to choose between two artes... Anyway, I have indeed played Graces f. Overall, I think I like Xillia better. However, Graces was good too. I liked being able to spam artes without worrying about TP. That's one thing I like about Tales, even the ones with TP-based systems... I don't have to carefully ration out my points for artes and such, as they can be restored easily enough. Also, Malik and Richard. Awesome.

If the teaser after the credits is any indication, it looks like he intends on doing the Yukari fight as well. 8D

I loved it so much, it's so pretty; I think he's stepped up with his models too, they look nicer (Reimu's hair looks a lot less metal >w> ) I also like how he used some of the Immaterial and Missing Power/Scarlet Weather Rhapsody/Unthinkable Natural Law attacks.
Yuyuko seems like SUCH an imposing figure in this, especially since she seemed kinda clueless and goofy in her game to me xD
I was kinda hoping for Ran, but at least she'll get a minor appearance as the mid-boss. I'm also hoping that it will be Marisa or Sakuya VS. Yukari, since we can't let Reimu have all the fun ;3
Ahh~ The Touhou fandom is just the best at times =w=

@Sirea: SWEDISH FISH! Best. Birthday. EVER! Seriously, though, Swedish Fish are the shi*. Awesome present.

@Evil: I find that managing the EX gems to receiver the artes you want is a much deeper system than the orbs system, which - while allowing you to choose what skills to learn at what times - doesn't have any separate branches to go down.
I agree, spamming special movies without repercussions is fun. Malik and Richard?
~

I agree, spamming special movies without repercussions is fun. Malik and Richard? I guess so, though I think it would be nice to assign some of the compound EX skills independently from the regular EX skills. Still, it is a good system. Indeed, and you can cast spells faster after A-artes. However, I'm bugged by Asbel's lack of Absorb skills. He has to use his sheathing system to restore HP on his own, which requires using a lot of B-artes. I actually prefer his A-artes; whether that's because of the cool style or the effects I'm not sure. Still, it's pretty fun to be able to use whatever artes you want at pretty much anytime (though having your "basic attacks" sealed by Arteseal is kind of a drag). As for Malik and Richard, they are awesome. Hilarious at times and kind of cool too. A man speaks with his back! MALIK BEAM!

Ahh~ The Touhou fandom is just the best at times =w= Yes, the improvement is remarkable and those touches were nice. And Yuyuko looking all serious beans had its coolness to it. 3nodding
Yeah, I'm banking on Ran appearing as the midboss. After all, he gave Youmu that treatment. Also, I came across someone in the comments posting a screenshot from one of minusT's art livestreams, where he was doing the "cover art" for the video and it appears that all three of them will have a go at her. (Actually I can only see Sakuya and Reimu but people are saying they can spot Marisa too...)
It's gonna be EPIC. 8D
Man, I hope the guy has the motivation to at least keep on going to Suwako's battle. That I would love to see. emotion_kirakira

A free weekend of it or something? Alas, I don't have Plus.
Anyway, as for games, I'm expecting a copy of Tales of Eternia to arrive via mail sometime soon, so that's good. Has anyone played this one yet?
Also, that lunar fortune cookie is pretty awesome. I just got a ton of gold (Snake voice: "3.5 million?!") from it, and wishes from Rufus to have a bunch of fun without pants or something. Nudism aside, gold. *hoards* Aaand now the millionaire achievement is bugging out. Always the hitch.
