It was hard not to marvel at the sight of Winona's gorgeous Altaria in action, showing off both its grace and power as first it blocked a fierce hit from Courtney's Swellow, then followed up with a magnificent Dragon Dance. The Dragon Dance had given the Ninetales an opportunity to attack, and though at first Kasiya felt worried from the command for a Flamethrower, she quickly recalled that Dragon-type Pokemon had many resistances, with fire being one of them, and instead she turned to her own Pokemon even as Winona called out to her. "Casimir! It's time for some payback for Altaria! Aerial Ace on Ninetales, now!"

The Absol, feeling pretty good from his previous Swords Dance, didn't hesitate to respond and he raced into action, not at all daunted by the two flying Pokemon above him, nor the fire-spewing fox that was his target. A white sheen glimmered in his wake as his claws tore into the ground, carrying him towards his target like a silvery missile. Once he was close enough, he reared back before viciously slashing at the fox Pokemon with his curved horn.

Kasiya watched her Absol, smiling at the sense of pride she felt. Casimir had certainly come around recently, and she was pleased to see that he followed her orders (at least this time) without question. Though she didn't think she'd need it, she had Ada's Pokeball at the ready, prepared to send in her loyal Pupitar if things went south. Normally, she would be quite against not playing fair in a Pokemon battle, but considering what Team Magma had put her friends through in the past, she was beyond playing fair with them.

Being much faster than Nidoran, Mya easily out-maneuvered her with a quick feint to the left and then slammed herself hard into the side of the poison type, sending the bluish Pokemon tumbling back. She hopped back to her feet, ears twitching intently. Her new friend was definitely tougher than she thought! The Nidoran crouched down, taking up a defensive stance as Mya raced toward her. She was never much for battling, but this time she was more than eager to participate. She focused as the Rattata neared her, taking in a deep breath. As soon as Mya was close enough, Nidoran unleashed a rather fearsome Growl, pretty much right in the Mouse Pokemon's face. While it didn't actively damage Mya, it was enough to slow her down and her resulting hit had been reduced in power. The Rattata skidded to a halt a few feet away from Nidoran, looking a bit startled, though that was nothing compared to what was up next.

Not wanting to give up her current advantage, Nidoran whirled around and jumped up, coming down quickly with two powerful kicks that scored direct hits to the still-stunned Rattata. Hayley watched with wide eyes, not entirely sure what had just happened. Cynder, meanwhile, gave a nod of approval, but remained silent. "Hang in there, Mya!" Hayley shouted, fumbling for her Pokedex. "You can do this! Focus Energy!"

The tiny Rattata struggled to get to her feet, but she managed, focusing all her adrenaline to pump herself up for the remainder of the fight. As much as she liked the Nidoran's company, she wasn't about to lose another battle! Nidoran came in with another flying Double Kick, but Mya wasn't about to let that attack hit her again and she dodged easily, pivoting and striking out with her tail, buffeting a surprised Poison Pin Pokemon with a Tail Whip to the face on Hayley's command. "Keep it up!" the brunette shouted, holding tight to her empty Pokeball.

Amy visibly relaxed as she left the building, giving Lee's hand a reassuring squeeze as he tensed at the sight of Karrigan. The Tyrogue only knew that she had intercepted that pesky Vulpix that he wanted to beat, but that stupid fox wasn't there now... Maybe she had it. He huffed a little breath and glanced up at Amy, who smiled back at him. Figuring that he wasn't to attack this person, the Fighting-type nodded stiffly and glanced back in the building.

"Karrigan, meet Lee," Amy said as a way of reply, smiling hugely now. "My newest partner. Lee, this is Karrigan, who will be traveling with us." The Scuffle Pokemon raised a little hand in greeting; he wasn't particularly the smiling type. Amy made a mental note to introduce Lee to the rest of her team when they took a break later, but after that exchange, she felt the urge to start moving again. The day seemed a lot brighter now.

"Speaking of traveling, are you about ready to head to Cerulean? Unless you had some business to attend to here..."

"I shudder to imagine," Jade said wryly, a half-smile pulling at the corners of her lips. She ran her fingers through her hair, trying to think of all the Pokemon she could get and which she would want to get first... It was all very complicated to think of. She had better decide on some type first. She was broken from her jumbled thoughts when the blonde handed her something-- a badge case?

"Oh," she mumbled uncertainly, taking the case with both hands and studying it with gentle fingers. She looked back up at Jake, looking slightly taken aback, but a small smile found its way on her lips and the courtesy that had been hammered into her since she was a girl took ahold of her. "T-thank you. It's very... it's very nice." She slipped it into her bag and returned Jake's grin, nodding in agreement. She slipped out of the building and started walking down the street, sights set on the route ahead of them.

Jett was still consumed by own his thoughts as they began to walk, not noticing Jasper's little stumble. He glanced curiously at Scarlet when he chuckled a little, but mostly ignored it, figuring that he would've done something far more embarassing. After all, he had been the guy to mess up his own Pokemon's gender for quite a while, right?

He smiled kindly at the Paras when Jasper released him, and cast a warning glance towards Aerosmith before he went and picked the poor thing up and flew away. The Beautifly in question was simply too busy eating and then hurrying along to catch up, making small little buzzing noises that sounded irritated to the boy.

"I'm hoping we'll get there before nightfall, but I think we have to cross through some cave," Jett said after a brief silence, wincing a little at the thought. His last incident with caves wasn't the best. But he could keep his cool, right? He had friends with him. He couldn't freak out in front of Scarlet and Jasper, he just couldn't.

Kimiko eye'd the frightening looking Black*Star, "yeah..." she replied, he really wasn't her type of pokemon. She stuffed her egg in her bag while her interesting new friend answered her phone.
Kadaj was busy doing his best to get all the bows off himself and de-poofing his fur. It was a very silly sight.
Kimiko was staring off into space when she noticed someone off in the distance. It was that lolita from earlier and she was giving Kimiko the stink eye. Thank goodness she now had a possie.
She snapped out of her dazed glare by Robin's invitation. "huh..? gym battle?" Her brain seemed to click, "Oh! sure! I've never seen one before!"

Karrigan flashed a rare, genuine smile at the greeting, and inclined her head politely with the introductions. "It's nice to meet you, Lee," she said with a slight nod. "I'm glad everything worked out okay." The Pokeball on her belt containing the newly-caught Vulpix had yet to stop shaking, so the redhead grabbed it in her hand and held it tightly. It hadn't occurred to her right away but there was a good possibility that the fox Pokemon was holding some sort of grudge against the Tyrogue, so she made a mental note to keep the Vulpix in her Pokeball, or at the very least, as long as she could. The last thing she or Amy needed was the two Pokemon getting into fights all the time, though letting the two battle it out every now and then might be good for a means of training.

Karrigan idly wondered to herself what Amy planned to have the young Tyrogue evolve into in the future, if at all, ignoring the mild pang of jealousy she felt over that kind of a choice as the two had once again had started walking, the little fighter in tow. "No, there isn't anything of importance here for me," she said, shaking her head a little. "Though, don't you mean Celadon? That's where that major department store is located." She gave her normal little smile and looked at the ground as they walked. It really didn't matter to her where they went just now, as she had no real plans and wandering around almost aimlessly seemed like a good idea to her, at least for now.
=-=-=-=-=

"Don't worry about it, it wasn't any trouble," the blonde boy answered brightly. "Besides, you can thank me later, when it's all filled up with badges." It was safe to say that Jake had temporarily forgotten his predicament, as the prospect of journeying on and with a new friend at that had temporarily pushed aside his feelings of dread and despair. The back of his mind still quietly nagged him, reminding him that he had a whole other life out there that he needed to rediscover and old friends to reunite with, but for now, he chose to ignore that tiny, irritating voice.

It would be difficult for the duo to get lost, as there were more than enough signs leading the way to the route they wanted, and before long the sprawling, large city gave way to greener scenery, far more trees and way less buildings. And then, just like that, Jake and Jade found themselves standing at the edge of a large, grassy field that seemed to stretch on forever. In the distance, Jake could make out two figures, but he couldn't discern more than a head of long, blonde hair and a shorter figure wearing a toque of sorts. "Say, Jade, have you decided what kind of Pokemon you're going to go after?" he asked, finally breaking the silence that had settled around them. He also realized that they should probably introduce their Pokemon since they'd be traveling together, but that could wait for now.

Jasper's thoughts were still focused almost entirely on his anxiety-ridden Paras and the problem the creature possessed with confrontation of any kind. He was now starting to regret capturing the thing in the first place, though he wasn't sure if Paras was better off in the wild, alone and terrified, than with him. At least Jasper and Ditto could do a decent job of protecting the little guy, rather than leaving him to fend for himself. When Jett mentioned something about a cave, Jasper's head snapped up. "Uh, yeah," he said, unzipping his jacket a little. He'd gone many times between Violet, Azalea and Goldenrod, so it was safe to say he was comfortably familiar with the adjoining routes. "That would be Union Cave. Aptly named, you see, as it joins Violet City and Azalea Town. It's not a big cave if you take the straightforward path, though a misstep or two could have you wandering around for hours."

Realizing then that he made for a rather lousy tour guide, the brown-haired boy cleared his throat, and chuckled. "Don't worry, I know my way through there. We'll be just fine. Just, you know, watch out for Zubats. And Geodudes. And Sandshrews. Oh, and the occasional Onix, too. They can be pretty scary when they're pissed."

The route leading to Union Cave was pretty straightforward itself, so chances were very low that the trio would lose their way. The area was relatively quiet, too, with only the occasional rustling of the tall grass and chirping of Pidgey and Spearow as they soared overhead. Jasper watched one of the winged creatures swoop down and disappear into the underbrush, and he sighed. "So, do either of you know what kinds of Pokemon you want to catch next?" he asked, hoping to initiate some chatter to help make their trek pass by a little quicker.

Riza's heart was beating just a little too fast as she stepped out onto the stage and into the harsh glare of the spotlights. The almost instant roar of the audience caused her to pause a moment, but she quickly smiled and waved though it was more of a subconscious action than anything else. The crowd cheered for Jerome too, but Riza couldn't help but get the feeling that she'd somehow become the favourite to win this. 'No, no pressure at all,' she thought, gripping Akima's pokeball tightly in her hand. She hardly heard anything that Lillian had been saying, though her gaze did drift to the new floorboards dotted out around the stage. They were lighter in colour than the others and quite easy to see, and she idly wondered how Poliwhirl was feeling and if they'd given him something to help with the pain he must be in.

Her grey eyes soon found their way over to Jerome, who wore a fairly smug smirk in return. Riza wanted nothing more than to punch that awful look right off his stupid face, but she'd leave that to the pending contest round. A part of her didn't even know why she was suddenly so protective and angry over the way he had humiliated Amy, but the other part was perfectly clear: Amy had been nice to her for no real reason, and befriended her even, and from there it was simple. No one treated friends of Riza Harding that way and got away with it.

The two coordinators' pictures appeared on screen as well as their points indicator, and Riza couldn't wait to start decimating Jerome's points. As soon as Lillian gave the word, Riza sent her pokeball spiraling onto the stage, where Akima appeared with a graceful aerial somersault and landing. Opposite her, Jerome's eerie Cacturne had made its appearance as well, and just like that the final round of the Cerulean City Pokemon Contest was under way.

Katie knelt down beside her Roselia as Seraphim returned to her side. Both trainer and Pokemon watched uneasily as the Aerodactyl's Hyper Beam ripped through the air and slammed into Adam's Honchkrow, easily knocking it out and sending it spinning to the ground. Adam was on the ball enough to recall the poor bird before it could make a crash landing, and he said nothing as he put the ball on his belt and gave a sharp look to his sister, indicating that she'd better follow him. His gaze went back to Mai for a moment and then to Katie, but he still didn't say anything and instead he and Penny both began to head in the direction of Eterna City.

"That was....intense," the orange haired girl said finally, recalling the Roselia into her pokeball and following up with her other Pokemon. She stood up and smoothed out her skirt, finding that she felt more and more uncomfortable with every moment she spent in Mai's presence. It wasn't just the things she'd said before, either. That Aerodactyl terrified her, both because of the amount of power it possessed and because of how easily it obeyed Mai as well. Worse yet, she wasn't sure how she'd just leave without looking suspicious and shifty. She picked up her bag and glanced at Mai, deciding to just go with her instincts. "Well, thanks for that, I did learn a lot," she said, mostly truthfully. "I think my Pokemon could all use some healing and it's starting to get pretty late so I'm going back to Eterna for some rest." She smiled up at the older woman before turning on a heel and beginning to walk away at a normal pace, despite her mind yelling at her to run as fast as she could.

As soon as the Hyper Beam hit, Mai knew the battle was done and she held up Giggles' Pokeball. "Excellent. Return, now," she said, her voice slightly warmer in tone than normal. The Aerodactyl was screeching loudly in celebration of his victory as he disappeared in a red beam of light; neither he nor his trainer paid Adam and Penny any attention as they made a hasty retreat.

Serenity's ears perked up and she looked quickly to Katie as the girl spoke, recalling all her Pokemon into their respective Pokeballs. "Espe...espe..." she said, glancing up at Mai. Her forked tail quivered slightly.

Mai smiled in response and placed her hands on her hips. "Intense? Not for me, but I'm glad you were able to hold your own." In truth, Mai had been quite impressed by Katie's Staravia and Roselia's abilities and she knew this girl had potential. She nodded as Katie chose to take her leave, exchanging knowing glances with her Espeon. "Wait, I want to give you something." The Rocket's long legs caught her up quickly to the younger trainer and she put her hand on her shoulder. "Take this, I bet you'll be able to use it in no time. And I'm giving you my cell number as well. Call me if you need anything, got it?" She winked as she handed Katie both a round, pale blue disc with "HM Fly" etched into it as well as a business card. It had her name and her number, as well as a bold, crimson R in the background. "Take care of yourself, Katie, and keep up your training. You're very talented."

Despite Riza's quick release of Akima onto the stage, Jerome was actually quicker to issue the first command. He didn't hesitate even a split second to order what must have been his Cacturne's signature move, Energy Ball. Riza remembered it well, as it had been the move that Jerome had used to take down Amy's Wooper, Marshall, in a single hit. Marshall was very weak to grass-type moves, however, but Akima was not. The Scarecrow Pokemon raised his arms and sent the shimmering, green orb sailing towards Akima, and Riza smiled. "Akima, showtime! Ice Punch, let's go!"

Akima's sneaky grin mirrored Riza's, and her crimson eyes narrowed as the green orb neared her. The welcome and familiar feeling of icy power quickly gathered up in her fist. The Sneasel was quite thrilled to have gotten this far, and she wasn't about to go easy on this green freak show now. "Akima, now!" Riza shouted, and the dark and ice-type stepped forward, pivoting to give herself a bit of momentum and her Icy Punch connected with the Energy Ball, creating a sound almost like a chiming bell before the sphere burst, sending green and silver sparkles glittering everywhere. The power had sent Akima skidding back a few feet but she was grinning quite coyly. This was exactly what she was born to do!
* * * * *
'Oh no,' Katie thought, a wave of horror sweeping over her as she heard Mai call out to her, and she'd frozen in her tracks long before the woman's hand touched her shoulder. She found herself involuntarily turning to face her, though her expression was remarkably calm despite her terror. "Yeah?" she asked, blinking a few times as she was handed a bluish disc as well as a business card. She studied each in turn, eyes widening as she realized it was the HM for fly. "W-wait, I can't take this," she said, instantly regretting it upon seeing the bright red letter R on the card. She remembered seeing it on the woman's pokedex device as well as the badge on her outfit. 'She must be in some sort of mafia or something,' she thought, reading the print a few times. "Mai Masaki? That's a pretty name." She pocketed the card, still holding onto the disc. She wanted to run, but she felt she couldn't now, especially after having received such a nice gift. "Not to sound ungrateful or anything, but why would you give this to me?" she asked, wishing she felt as brave as she sounded. "And what's with that red R? Are you like, a mobster or something?" She felt a little silly for outright asking, but there was something strange about this woman. She eyed the Espeon for a moment, wondering if the psychic feline could read her mind and feelings.

From across the stage, Jerome smirked, definitely not caring at all that he had been the first to lose points. "Not bad, but don't think that having a type advantage means anything," he sneered. "This is a contest, not some barbaric battle!"

"I know that!" Riza retorted, her grey eyes already narrowed in anger. "Contest or not, you still need to have an understanding of battles in order to do well on the contest circuit! Akima, loosen up with your Agility!"

The Sneasel flexed her claws and allowed her body to relax. She felt herself become much quicker, and every inch of her body seemed to tingle as though she'd been hit by an electric attack. Akima glanced at the Razor Claw hanging from the cord around her neck, wondering if it was responsible for the strange power she felt.

Jerome smirked again, pushing his hair from his face almost defiantly. "All the Agility in the world won't help you if you can't play the field," he called, raising his hand. "Cacturne, Spikes! Let's go!" The Scarecrow Pokemon gave a creepy, sinister grin as the spines on its body all jutted out at once, adding to its already intimidating presence. It then slashed the air with its spiny arms, sending out a volley of spiked barbs that covered the stage floor, transforming it into a veritable minefield. Both Riza and Akima looked on with disdain, each trying to think of a way to deal with this new obstacle. Riza hadn't encountered Spikes before, but she knew it was usually used to hurt Pokemon that were being switched in. A quick glance at the scoreboard showed that Jerome's use of it to preempt Akima from moving around had been worth a lot of points.

"Now use Pin Missile!" Jerome called, deciding then that if the girl was going to sit there gawking at them, then he was going to capitalize on her foolishness. The Scarecrow Pokemon, easily taller than the Sneasel, quickly turned its back on her before pivoting around quickly and thrusting out both arms, resulting in rapid bursts of glowing needles, very much deserving of their name.

"No! Akima, dodge it! Quick!" Riza shouted, realizing fast that a bug type move would be super-effective against Akima if it hit her. Akima did not want to get hit by that attack either so she took a step to her right, only to find her feet surrounded by the Cacturne's Spikes. Having nowhere to go, Akima turned in time to find herself being pelted in the chest by several sharp pins, the force of which knocked her back and onto several of the spikes she'd desperately wanted to avoid. The Sneasel screeched out in pain, kicking and swiping with her arms to clear a spot around her so that she could get to her feet. The moment she did so, however, she could hear Riza crying out again and she looked up just in time to see a shining green orb of energy roughly a foot in front of her face.

Cacturne's Energy Ball made a super-clean hit and once again Akima found herself amid a sea of dangerously pointy things. Worse than that, she could hear the crowd cheering, but they were not cheering for her. That spiky, green cactus thing was making a fool of her, and stealing all of Riza's valuable points, and the audience had the audacity to cheer it on! With a growl Akima jumped to her feet once more, this time hearing her trainer's voice calling for her to dodge. Her eyes flashed and she jumped up, narrowly avoiding being pelted by a volley of Poison Sting. "Akima! Fight back with Ice Punch!" Riza shouted, at the moment more worried for her Sneasel's well being than her own points tally. Akima nodded and in mid air her fists began to glow again with frigid power, and as she descended towards the ground she began to plot out a path through the spiky minefield to get to the Cacturne. She landed and tore off like a rocket, rearing back her icy fist in order to drive it into that awful Pokemon's creepy face.

"Such unrefined behavior," Jerome sighed, gesturing towards Akima. "Cacturne, Sucker Punch." The Cacturne's evil grin seemed to widen, but it didn't move from where it stood, instead stood there watching as the Sneasel came closer. Just as it looked like she was going to pummel him with her Ice Punch, he quickly lashed out with his right arm, throwing a solid Sucker Punch into Akima's stomach. The icy power in her fist winked out almost instantly and she was, for the third time in this match, knocked flat on her back and finding herself being impaled by at least a dozen Spikes.
PostPosted: Sun Oct 30, 2011 6:53 am

"Akima!" Riza shouted, resisting the urge to cover her eyes as once again her poor Pokemon was flung back into the Spikes littering the floor. She had no idea how this had just happened. She'd gone into this with confidence, more than certain that she'd win, but now that definitely didn't appear to be the case. This contest hadn't been anything she'd been expecting it to be, and though this match was virtually opposite of what had happened during the round against Crenu, but the disappointment and frustration felt the same. She didn't want the contest to end like this, and as she glanced at the scoreboard, the points reflected just how Jerome was out-thinking her, out-playing her, and out-classing her. "Akima!" she cried out again, tears of frustration and disappointment filling her eyes. "Get up! We can still win this!" Akima got back to her feet once more, shaking with both pain and anger. A white hot energy surging through her body, fueled by her outrage and vanity. She glanced back at Riza, her anger peaking when she saw the worried and upset expression on her trainer's face, and she reached down and snatched up the Razor Claw in her hands, holding it tightly.

"I don't think so," Jerome said, dismissing Riza and her Sneasel with a wave of his hand. "It's time to finish this. Cacturne, Pin Missile, go." The Scarecrow Pokemon seemed to laugh as he launched the glowing needles forward. A bright, white light had encompassed Akima as the Pin Missiles raced forward, blurred slightly as the Sneasel sidestepped them with ease.

"A-Akima?" Riza asked, having no idea what was happening to her Sneasel. She wanted to run out and help her, but her legs wouldn't cooperate with her mind. She could hear the cheers of the audience growing louder and louder as some of the more experienced members had already figured out what was going on. The whole thing seemed to last minutes, but in actuality it was only a few seconds. The light vanished, as though someone had shot out the light, and there Akima stood, no longer a Sneasel, but something else entirely. She was taller than before, and her claws were longer, sharper, and much more dangerous looking. A frill had replaced her head feather, and her ears were feathery and stood out from the sides of her head. She also had a frilled collar around her neck, and her tail had changed slightly too though the yellow gem in her forehead was still there. The only thing about her that let Riza know that this was her Akima was the fact that the sneaky look in her crimson eyes hadn't changed. The newly-evolved Weavile stepped forward, a lonesome, braided cord hanging from around her neck, no longer supporting the weight of the Razor Claw.

From the moment the two coordinators' Pokemon were released from their Pokeballs, Lillian knew this was going to be an exciting and interesting contest battle. Not surprisingly, Jerome made the first attack, though his Cacturne's Energy Ball was nicely countered by an Ice Punch from Riza's Sneasel, Akima. "What a lovely sound!" the emcee had said, thrilled by both the Cacturne's relentlessness and the Sneasel's grace. The crowd agreed, cheering louder and louder, though it wasn't long before Jerome turned the tables on Riza's combinations. "Things aren't looking good for Riza," Lillian commented, adjusting her microphone and headset. "Jerome has taken control of this match, and poor Riza is being strung along, losing point after point in the process! And after such a strong first few rounds, too." It was rather sad to see the match heading this way, as Lillian always had a soft spot for the underdogs and rookie coordinators. Things were looking pretty bleak as Jerome broke down combination after combination, and Lillian eyed the scoreboard, noting to the crowd and competitors that only a precious few minutes were left on the clock, and Riza's points had been reduced to nearly a third of what they started with.

"It's another Pin Missile from Cacturne," Lillian narrated, trying to keep the worry from her voice. "If this one hits, it could be all over for Riza! But what's this? An incredibly, well-timed dodge by Akima..." the emcee's voice trailed off as that telltale white light filled the stage, and she nearly jumped up with excitement. "It seems that Akima's held item, a Razor Claw, has triggered her miraculous evolution into a fast and powerful-looking Weavile! Don't you dare blink, folks, or you might miss something exciting!" Evolutions were relatively rare in her line of work, but now there had been two in one single contest, with Ryka's Skitty/Delcatty in the appeals round and now Riza's Sneasel/Weavile. She certainly loved her job!

Katie's question made Mai want to laugh out loud, but she managed to hold it back, and simply smiled. "A mobster? Well, no, not exactly," she said wryly, glancing to Serenity who'd also been amused by the question, and she recalled the Espeon into her Pokeball as well. "I am giving you that HM simply because I have no further use for it, and I figure that for a young trainer such as yourself, it might come in handy someday. And yes, I am part of an organization, and it is rather famous, at least in the Kanto and Johto regions." She ran her gloved fingers through her pale blonde hair and continued to smile. "Perhaps you've heard of Team Rocket?"

((Ehhh... Mai's post is really short and lame. Sorry, Tessie! ;~; ))

The brunette eyed the trembling Pokeball that Karrigan had, hazarding a guess that it was that feisty little fox. She smiled a little, glad that her new friend had gotten a strong enough Pokemon with enough wits about her to keep another incident from happening. Lee didn't seem as happy as his trainer, staring at the Pokeball warily until it settled down. He would get his rematch eventually with that blasted fox, he knew so. He would make it happen.

"Oh, you're right," Amy said, reddening a little at her own mistake. "Celadon, Cerulean, I can't keep track of all of these cities, I guess..." Even worse, they were both connected to Saffron. If it hadn't been for Karrigan, Amy would probably be heading back to the other city and it would've been a huge waste of time. She had wasted enough time, she figured.

"You ready to go shopping?" the Maple girl asked after another moment, once the two had broken free of a massive crowd and it was possible for each to hear her own thoughts again. Amy was definitely excited; she always loved the trips to Goldenrod her mother had brought her on, with the towering department store and so many things she could buy. There was a new outfit, but also some medicine, and some food, and maybe some TMs...

Jade smiled at Jake's comment, staring at her own reflection in the glossy metal surface of the badge case. Could she really fill this with badges? That was so many battles... so much work... so much time. Could she really stick to it? Would she be found before then? Were people even looking for her? She wasn't sure whether or not she wanted to hear the answer to that question.

She was broken from her thoughts by Jake's question, and the raven haired girl glanced over at the blonde, blinking a few times as they trekked forward in the grass. What kind of Pokemon would she get? She had types in mind, sort of, but was she supposed to pick out a specific Pokemon? Is that what he did?

"I don't have any specifics in mind," Jade said after a hesitant pause, looking back ahead to the grass and all of the Pokemon she knew lurked somewhere in it. "I was thinking maybe a Grass or Water-type... why, did you have any suggestions?" Her tone was slightly dry, but the girl realized how helpful that might actually be, considering Jake had already earned his first badge. Maybe he really could help her out.

Seeing that her new friend had agreed to go with her Robin seemed to brighten up even more, if that was possible. If she had been looking at a lightbulb before it was like looking at a sun now. "That's great!" She reached over and scooped Kimiko up into a big bear hug for a moment before she started to babble about how excited she was for this upcoming battle and all the tips that her masters had advised her about on grass types. Robin didn't even skip a moment to beat as she talked and started to put away all the now empty plates at her table. All of Robins pokemon were finishing up their food and either slipping into the itis or perking up at the mention of some more battles. Black*Star looked especially ready to kick some a**. He remembered his last encounter with a grass pokemon that had left him so hurt he had to be sidelined for a while. Well that wasn't going to happen this time! He was going to show those grass types who was boss this time!

When the table was cleared she somehow managed to recall her pokemon, with the exception of Luffy. Putting her hands on her hips she gave Kimiko a big grin and held out her hand to help her up from her seat. "You ready to go and kick some gym leaders butt?" At her side Luffy imitated Robin's pose but snickered a bit at Kadaj's now totally messed up fur. Reaching out with one of his tail hands he pulled the last bow off of the Eevee a
nd tossed it.
