Shaking his head as he continued on, noting that they would have to stop shortly to set up camp for the night, as he anticipated that she would not want to march through unknown territory while being unable to see anything. "None whatsoever."

"Perhaps they simply have not arrived yet." Slowing his pace, he nodded. "You do not mind sleeping outdoors, do you?" Looking around for a moment, he spotted a small grove of trees that could serve as ample cover for the night.

"If they try, I'll be sure to let you know." Shrugging, he headed toward the grove, picking out the best spot for him to stay to keep watch. "Just so you know, the ground is no where nearly as comfortable as a matress."

"About a week. After we cross through the marshes, I expect you will want to bathe. But the anticipated rate of travel while you are in that state will be slower than normal until we reach the small town near our destination. There we can find an inn, and you will be able to stay the night in an actual bed, after cleaning, of course." Nodding slowly, he leaned back against a tree in the middle of the grove, seeming to melt into the shadow of it, although his blazing eyes still gave away his location, the light glittering off his silver bangs. "Less than a week, now. If we travel fast enough to the caves that pass through the mountains by tomorrow night, which will be pushing it, we can stay the night there, then cross through the caves as well as the marsh the following day, and rest on the other side of the marsh that night. Then travel to the town and rest there for a night, then go to the city. All in all, it may not even take half a week. That is, anyway, depending on our rate of travel."

"A great many things are possible, I suppose. But it has been so long since I have actually journeyed in such a manner.." Sighing, he closed his eyes, seeming to completely vanish from sight. "..I could easily transport us there at any moment I choose..but that would be using methods that are best not used in this world."

"I prefer not to use it without a very good reason. Every world has its own means of effecting nature in order to use 'magic.' My method is unlike what any world has been able to achieve. It would not be good for me to use it without just cause." Sighing, he slowly lowered to the ground, but this was only noticeable by the sound of him sliding along the tree he was leaning against.

"I'm here. I'm keeping an eye out for possible threats." When he spoke, it seemed his voice echoed from all dark places within the grove, but when he opened his eyes, looking to her, his voice came from him, as before. "Why?"
