I'm still aiming to pick up Destiny and Eternia, myself. I really wish Rebirth would be translated... It sounds interesting! Like this: Kureaaaaa!

I can only wish I could pick up Xillia. And Graces. ;.;
I've come across a fully translated rom of Tempest, though, and I'll get down to playing it after DotNW... I hear Tempest has got a really bad rep but I'm still curious. Because plot with race of werewolves yes.

Really? Whoa.
Hmm... Perhaps a delayed one when people start shuffling back?
Yep! Time sure flies, huh?
What exactly do you mean by that? Kinda went over my head here, sorry.

Okay, first and foremost, apologies for the rambling and how negative I'm going to sound. I just don't know how to word it better. sweatdrop
I wouldn't say lately. It's been like this for a long time now. I mean, a guild of 100+ members and only a handful are truly active. If it were school and such keeping people away, why hadn't activity really picked up during summer vacation? Or maybe it's a case of our members being much older than I thought they were and everyone has jobs or something. It could also be that Symphonia is truly so "old" that it's exhausted as a point of discussion. I thought the HD remake might inspire more chatter, but things hadn't turned out as expected. Perhaps I could also chalk it up to people preferring to stick to their own circles outside of the guild when they get on Gaia.
To be honest, I've given up on being pushy with activity. Looking back, I think that might've generated more pressure than anything and made people more off-put or too nervous to initiate their own activity in the guild.
It's just...I dunno, reflecting on past efforts disheartens me, to be honest. The general guild rules are not that strict (I think) and based on common sense. We made contests and events that I thought would be easy enough to participate in, made clear rules for them, extended deadlines...only for the turnout to often be pretty lackluster. I asked for feedback on what would make people more interested in the guild and acted on the suggestions that were feasible but it still was a bust. And there are subforums to bring up discussion about other things if Symphonia's so exhausted.
TL;DR—I had hoped the guild activity would come out of the members mingling amongst themselves more than me trying to make things happen a lot of the time.
In the end, I've resigned to being satisfied with the activity that comes from the mere handful that remain truly active, namely you guys and the rest of the RPers. I really, really appreciate you guys keeping this guild alive, even if it's just a little, and apologies if it looks like I don't.

I haven't played Destiny or Eternia, though from looking at some of the the characters in Radiant Mythology *totally need to get back to that game*, it did made me curious on wanting to try them out. I thought Reid was a trip. xd
If anything, least you get to hear Viegue's English voice in Graces. lol. Though I wish they would release the PS3 version of Vesperia here in the US. I sure ain't gonna get a Xbox 360 just to play one game. sweatdrop
I've already got a list of games I gotta pick up sometime. I kinda had the thought of getting Legend of Dragoon through PSN. I've been having that urge to play it again, yet there's a certain boss fight I won't be looking to doing again though. xp
@ Azura: *gives a cookie* I've seen this sort of thing happen in many guilds....least the ones I've been on. There would be alot of members, yet in the long run, only a small few are the ones who keep the place active.

Yeah, they do sound neat. Anyway, I thought Veigue sounded pretty cool. I couldn't help but think of Soul Calibur whenever he used his Mystic Arte. That's totally not why I got a 360! Heh heh... sweatdrop But yes, that would be great. Uh-oh... Legend of Dragoon has a That One Boss, it seems. Actually, multiple ones. That doesn't bode well.

I'm frankly surprised that I haven't started using roms yet.
But yeah... You're right. I guess Labor Day made me a bit optimistic. There have really only been a few active people here. Don't worry, you don't have to run everything! Anyway, I'm still happy with the few people we have active, but that leaves the question of what everybody else thinks. Leave as-is, try to recruit people, etc.
Anyway, if you're concerned about Symphonia being too old of a topic for a guild, how about a Tales guild in general?
*looks at Zeal thread* ...Eh? Is Zeal starting now?

That One Boss that takes HOURS to beat, and it's not even a final boss or an optional boss. xp Aside from that, it's a pretty fun game. Though I know I'm a bit rusty with doing the additions. Dart and Rose's additions aren't so bad and neither is Meru's, though Albert's additions are pretty tricky and fast. xp
As for Zeal, Azura did mention that we're welcomed to post before she does. :3

@Azurapoo: Sorry. Truth is, when I (mostly) left the guild, I placed a curse on it so it could never be as active as it once was. It was the only way I could prevent //ERROR// from returning. Because the more souls there were, the more there was for //ERROR// to feed on. Actually, it wasn't just my plan. Goddorz Roxxorz and I conceived it together, so we both are to blame. Forgive our incompetence.
...Stupid old-school, inside humor that no one here besides you and I will get aside, I think the real reason for the lack of activity in this guild has to do with the general popular decline in Gaia. I've seen tremendously populated guilds just die, even though the material for which they're based off of is still as popular as ever.
Ever hear of The FInal Fantasy VII Guild? That place was absolutely JUMPING 6 years ago, now it's a ghost town. Completely dead. Same goes with a lot of the old guilds I used to be a part of. The Official Legend of Zelda Guild, The Official Resident Evil Guild... They're all dead (no pun intended in the Resident Evil's guild case xd). It's just the way things go. Gaia might still have some guilds that are bouncing, but for the most part, the website's time is up. It's going the way of MySpace... Or it already has, depending on who you ask.
I've made a lot of good friends on here. Lifelong friends, for sure. It's been melancholic to see them all go... Still, I must remain on here. I can never leave. Not until... until... UNTIL I SEE YOUR FACE, AZURA. mrgreenmrgreenmrgreenmrgreenmrgreen

@Evil: Have fun with Dragoon. It's my personal third favorite RPG. I actually just recently played The Last Story for the Wii. That game was absolutely amazing. Great story, characters, gameplay... You should definitely give it a check sometime; if you haven't already, that is.
I wouldn't mind getting myself a copy of Xenoblade Chronicles, but I don't want to spend 90 dollars on an unproven IP, no matter how good it looks...
Anywho, how would you compare Xillia to other Tales Of games? Where would you rank it in the series?
I don't think recruiting new people will remedy anything, to be honest. D: I see join requests sometimes, accept them, and then they never seem to do anything. Why...join a guild and then never do anything in it? It's like...joining just for the sake of joining? I don't understand this.
I've actually posed that question before, but the general response I got was "I joined for Symphonia and it just doesn't feel right to change it".
Hm. Maybe I should ask that question again in an announcement...
60 Thou Goes Ghost
CURSE YOU //ERROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRR// CURSE YOUR EXISTENCE FOR THAT...CURSE...
Ahahaha. Anyway. I think you do have a point. It ties in with my guess that members that were once active have just grown up and moved on. Not to mention all this emphasis lately on the nice shiny sparkly stuff that can only be easily obtained with...CASH. It seems to be off-putting to many. xd
...
...In that case, you are stuck here foreverrrrrrrrr. emotion_awesome
Jeez I must remember to check in on the book of faces from time to time.

I guess not. Anyway, changing the focus would make me a bit uneasy as well, but I find that Symphonia isn't the exclusive focus of the conversations and stuff... Don't we have an other-games-in-the-series subforum or something? Come to think of it, that could be a less-weird alternative.

Well, I still need to get it, and I already have some things lined up, but it sounds neat. Xenoblade Chronicles is 90 dollars?!
As for Xillia, it's good. I'd rank it pretty high in the series. I can't compare it with Symphonia due to my first-game-played-in-the-series bias, but I can make a few points.
The characters are pretty good, and the skits are as good as ever (you can move dialogue along when you're ready, and they're voiced). The story (at least on Jude's side) seems to have some themes of what it means to be an adult and whatnot, which is something that I, at least, can connect with right now. The party's goals and stuff sort of flip around a lot, but it's not like a series of "why would you do that?!" moments (I'm lookin' at you, Final Fantasy XIII). Sidequests (sub-events) are a bit simpler and have their own list in the menu. I find that this is a good thing (fewer arcane requirements and Guide Dang It moments). The combat is great. You can mix actions together in any order, and the AC counter (a pool of points that goes down as you take actions but resets when you go idle [not for very long, unlike in Graces] after combos, etc.) doesn't get in the way too much. Spellcasting is more viable, and TP is abundant. I also like the Lillium Orb, which lets you spend points to get increased stats, skills, and Artes. However, it is probably the easiest Tales game I've played so far. I don't know if that's because I'm really taking the time to do sub-events (not to mention the fact that I ground up a few levels in that floodmeadow, and frequently spam food that increases EXP...), but the random battles are pretty easy for me. If you're looking for a real challenge, you might consider booting the difficulty up a notch. But hey! Motoi Sakuraba! Alvin! Rowen! Tidal Wave! Demon Fang! Spirit Shifting! Healer and Recovery Ring! More maturity than in Graces! Devil's Arms! Awesomeness!
Anyway, good stuff!

Hours? I hope you're talking about your cumulative attempts and not one go.
Hmm... I think I'll wait on Zeal. Anybody good with Gilgamesh springing out of nowhere and challenging their peeps? Perhaps Dart, as he's also a swordsman, and could probably earn Gilgamesh's respect. ...Don't worry! I don't plan to have ol' Gil challenge everyone all the time. That's just his entrance.
Yeah, besides visiting your faces once in a blue moon, I'm only on here for one other friend. All the others have, like you said, moved on. Still, my friend and I just find it more convenient to hold conversations here than on FaceBook, so I suppose as long as we have stuff to converse about, I'll be on Gaia. Though definitely not in the capacity as I once was, that's for sure.

@Evil: 80 dollars, now. Still too pricey, though. Stupid GameStop, having a power hold on the pricing of the game because it's an exclusive to their chain of stores...
Xillia is on the easy side, eh? That's ok... Dawn of the New World was on the easy side, but I still had a blast with it. As long as it's fun, ya know.

I think I'll let Alvin handle my reaction. And my real reaction. Seriously, man. I don't get game pricing. I'm with you- No $70 on unknown IPs. Still totally going to get that Metal Gear HD pack, though, at least to try to understand what the sacred Jebus H. Columbus heck is going on. That's beside the point, though, because that's no more than 50 new on Amazon.
Hi, everybody! Just dropped in to say hi. -slips away and hides out again-
Why are we hiding? ninja
And in other news.....I finally got Xillia! blaugh
I sometimes have to hide from the guards [Why they didn't see the funny side of the castle being filled with oatmeal I'll never know...] let me know what Xillia is like please, I was thinking of giving it a look once my PS3 is replaced
