bete_noire13 Flute high notes are amazing. The highest note is loud enough to split eardrums! >.< Yeah, our band director was once making us play the high notes and we had to hold out a high A. My ears were ringing for a whole class afterwards. Yes, that is why we're in front. lol I love playing flute, though I must say I hate when during practice they make us face the sidelines and our upper bodies toward the audience while practicing, flutes up....and they make us stay that way for more than 5 minutes.... ...afterwards....I feel like my arms will fall off if I can feel them at all... sweatdrop

Okay, firstly, Edwards_little_apple, why do they keep thinking Full Metal Alchemist? I mean, jeez, since when do apples play an important part in that show? XD 'Cause I would've looked at your name and died. I love Twilight because Jacob's actually.. eh, normal in that one and isn't trying to force himself to imprint on Bella. -Grumble.- Anyways, good book series that Stephenie Meyer wrote, ne? There're, like, two teachers I've gotten on the good side of because I like reading, and that's one of the main things I like. Kinda funny because one of them was my Biology teacher. And that's where everything good happens. The other one was a Chemistry teacher.
Anyways, like all of you I'm a flutist. [Can't stand how that's pronounced like you'd spell it "floutist", but anyways..] ^-^ I completely and totally love my flute, and it's name was something a couple of months ago, but it's changed now. Since I started reading the Uglies series, I like to call my flute Tsuki-la and have problems with wanting to say that "my flute isn't bubbly today, so it's not playing right" and that "my flute's extra bubby today, can't ya tell?" And only, like, me and another girl have read it in my band class, so we're always talking about it, like an inside joke.
Alright, got off topic there. My flute is like my baby, called Tsuki-la for those of you that didn't read the above paragraph, and I pretty much feel a little bit of me die if I lose my grip on my flute, and it hits the ground, or if I hit the stand with it.. A friend of mine was talking to me the other day, and we had said that if we ever had the school catch on fire, we'd run the opposite way of the doors to our lockers and open our lockers in, like, three seconds before grabbing our flutes and heading to the library to save some books. And when we finally got outside, we'd be all dirty and coughing and wheezing and would pass out. When we woke up, our parents would as if we were okay, and we'd respond with, "IS MY FLUTE OKAY?~!" ^-^ Yeah, that's me and my friend for ya.
I live in Georgia, by the way. In case anyone wanted to know.

Keltzy Either I am blind and didn't read the board right, or there are no flute topics. I saw other instrument topics so I thought I'd make one too. Um flute players, any of out there? Today was our first day of school and my first day playing with a different band. I was different, probably 'cause most the class forgot their instruments. sweatdrop We played pep band music, and I felt weird, 'cause the other two flutes were organizing stuff . . . But enough of my ranting, please, come talk!! Right on!!! What ya play? I play flute/piccolo/everything else j/k. I play flute/piccolo/base/guitar/drums and I sing! how bout you? I'm beckky FYI and you are?!? rofl

The Nightmare Of Squid Two of the five flutes in our band are such bitches! Ohmylord, they pass notes in the middle of songs, and shake their heads from side to side. It is so ******** annoying, Because of them, our whole band sucks. haha, OMG I have flutes like that in my band too!!! They can barely even blow into it and make a sound-AND WE`VE BEEN PLAYING SINCE SEPTEMBER!!! and it`s like no one who plays flute has a sense of humor except for me and another flute...I swear.

YAY FOR FLUTES!!!!!
I play flute at my school, but unfortunately only in the flute choir this year. I want to play flute again for the [sarcasm]wonderful[/sarcasm] multipurpose band that we have at my school. I had to switch to Bari sax because we needed low end. It's fun to play but the flute is a much more gentle instrument.
I miss it. It's really ironic because the two best flute players in the school (me and my friend) play saxophone in the band. Hey, where duty calls us.
I've been playing for 8 years. Unfortunately I still have the same flute as I did when I started. I really need a new one but I don't have the money to buy one. I can make do with what I have.
This guild makes me happy inside. *giggles*

Okay so I have to ask: Do your guys' Flute and Clarinets despise the Trumpet section too? Your looking at this post like it's funny...it's not even funny. It's not our fault that the trumpets are tone-deaf idiots. Their just jealous that we're closer to the teacher than them. Because we're loved more. Trumpets suck. I saw a Trumpet player in Lunch and he kept trying to block my way. I should've tripped him. He had a tray full of food...Tacos to be exact. I would've laughed my @$$ off. Baka Trumpet...

I miss my old band days. Though I have been out of HS for two years, but the damage that the new band director has done to our band still burns me.
