One of Ares' personal favorite quotes. It seemed, to him, that it had a great amount of relevance right now. He laughed briefly. "Don't you agree, little demigod?" He smiled wickedly, though he knew that Nikolaus would not battle alone against him. Even he was not that foolish, whether he had an advantage or not. Ares was ready for anything.
He could sense power in the air, and he knew he was dealing with more than just a single demigod and his whorde of stupid demons. Ares knew this... but he could not bring himself to ask anyone for help. He would not prove a coward!

"Darkness is merely an absence of Light, once it is there Darkness is abolished." Nikolaus was no fool, and majority of the powers he held were scientific to a T. Teleportation, Projection, Oxygenation, all of them involved Light. Nikolaus knew Odin would not allow his possible failure to stop him, the Norse God of War would love to battle against the Grecian. In fact the God was about five minutes away from jumping in this second. Nikolaus remained attentive, watching all the auras around him to monitor their movements and change in emotion even the slightest. If that girl was going to throw the weapon, she would exert energy and a change in her aura would happen. Wuite simple really.

Musica started swimming down deeper into the lake, holding tightly onto the body he was carrying. He didn't know what to expect, but he could feel the magic pouring out of the place. There was the distinct aura of living things, so there were living creatures down here. He just hoped they weren't as hostile as the forest creatures. Swiftly he swan down deep into the depths, coming to an area of pitch dark. As quickly as he swam he illuminated the area, making it more visible. All around him he saw water creatures of many kinds, some he didn't even know lived in freshwater.

"If darkness is the absence of light, why are there dark magics and light magics?" There was nothing to do. This was just... verbal toss after verbal toss. Ares knew that he himself could not move to attack, because he was well aware that it would be pointless. He had a feeling that Nessa was being watched too... Damn, were they already so overtaken?

Arielle watched carefully, but then decided that things would not go as planned. So she spoke to Nessa, using a temporary telepathy link. Vanessa. Do not move yet. When I say, you will still throw, but do not aim for Nikolaus. Throw it to the war god, as if you are throwing at Nikolaus. Your aim must be only that much higher, not noticeable until the target is hit.

As they swam deeper into the lake, Ari's face took on a look of wonder. There were many fish down deep, both bizarre and beautiful. Carefully removing a hand, she wiggled her fingers slightly, and a quit ping! traveled through the water, bouncing back to the pair. She was building a map in her mind, but oddly enough, there was a void. Tapping Musica on the shoulder, she pointed slightly to the left of their current location, leading him towards the gap in her sonar. She was curious.

Nikolaus smirked, the God was out of ideas and resorting to this small verbal dispute. How cute. However, Odin didn't deem this cute in the least. In fact this God of War was quite tempered.
Up from the Heavens he came down upon Midgard on his eight legged steed Sleipnir. On his shoulder sat his two Ravens, Huginn and Munin (Thought and Memory), and running along side the father dog his two wolves Freki and Geri. He carried in his hands the spear Gungnir, that never misses. His single eye flared like a blazing sun, and his desire to fight was easily seen. All the demons separated as he stepped off his horse and walked towards the Grecian, his two Ravens on his shoulders, his height immense. Despite having the appearance of an old man, he was a force to be dealt with.
"Ares, Grecian God of War, leave be my grandson. It seems he's too much a coward to fight you openly. Though, I am not." His voice was booming as he stood before Ares, proud and strong as any God should. Especially the Father God, the Almighty One in the Asgard pantheon. He was also the God of wisdom, having even sacrificed one of his eyes for a drink in the Well of Wisdom. He was endlessly intelligent, fighting more so actually with his mentality than with physical violence. For this though, there was an exception. This was a disrespecting Grecian, and he deserved no mercy from Odin.
Nikolaus smiled, turning once more to his army as he watched his tireless soldiers beating away at the barrier, wondering just when it would finally shatter. The girl stood before him still holding the spear and he sneered in disgust at the mortal. After Aphrodite she would be his next target. Since apparently Grandfather was to take care of Ares.

Ares immediately sighed. He looked at Odin, and he was not impressed. "You wish to fight me? Truly? You would not let your grandson fight his own battles..." Ares shook his head. "Pitiful. I find you more pathetic than you think I am." He glared heatedly. "Let Hades reap your immortal soul tonight."
No one insulted Ares like this.
Ares called upon his horses, upon his power, and upon his boars. Eyes glowed in the surrounding forest, and it was obvious that he did not think highly of the choices of these Nordics.

”Oh holy s**t,” Nessa gasped at the flurry of activity on the other side of the barrier. That was one HUGE god, though she’d never say that to his face. She grew even more disgruntled as Nikolaus turned to her. ”Great!” she muttered, giving the lance another nervous twirl. Ares was so on his own now. She could only See… she couldn’t do anything magical like Ari. She needed this… Relic? Whatever it was, she needed it… but hoped she wouldn’t be pressed to use it. ’C’mon Aphrodite!’ she thought, ’Keep the barrier up!’

Arielle coughed violently for a moment as the demons pounded against the barrier. Even with the Goddess of Love's aid, the Headmistress was in no condition to do anything. In the water, though, she felt just that much better. Arielle was, after all, part water nymph. Though the water would not heal her, it made her feel slightly stronger.
She watched the battle with a careful eye. Should Nessa throw the lance? Or was it too early? Arielle knew she did not have long to decide. She just hoped her barrier, and her self, could last a bit longer. She knew she could not succumb to darkness, or she would die. If the barrier broke, Arielle would be dead. She knew, somewhere, there was a less binding method to sever the barrier, but she couldn't remember it now. It was tied to her life force until further notice.

Odin inclined his head, accepting the challenge. Odin had foreseen the prophecy of his own death, and this was not it. He may not when this challenge, but this was not where he was to die. Odin had grown impatient with Nikolaus, he would not move when he had an advantage. Despite all his gifts and blessing, he remained a coward. If he did not make a move soon, Odin was considering removing himself and his blessing. Not before giving him another chance. Odin was wise, and he could see how cornered Nikolaus was feeling before.
"I let him fight his own battles when he fights them, Grecian. Despite all my gifts he remains cowardice and is to a point of shaming me." The Father God held tightly onto his spear, and the two ravens flew away from him. His wolves ran out to stand with him, and the eight legged steed stood ready.
