Also as it turns out, there was no autokill thing...
I went from the middle of the desert to the end with but one Red Shirt.

I went from the middle of the desert to the end with but one Red Shirt. I'm guessing that the autokill is likely, but not guaranteed. It's probably luck-based. That said, I got the zombie event right at the end. I would have had two people if it had waited 60 miles or so to appear. crying

Take my advice.
Should something like that happen again, or in the case of that damned moth one, just close out of the tab and continue it again.
It'll act as if it never happened, and you'll be on your merry way.

From the get go, I took the slow one, pooled all resources into ammo, hunted, realized I could hunt consecutively by Saving, went down to one mate, rested when Fair... took the shortcuts...
My food level was at least at 20 by the time I reached the end, AND I was out of ammo.

Flash took my ability to hunt in the ocean. I had to coast through the rest on the 1000 food I had. Luckily I made it.

Something was up when I was rendered unable to hunt in the sky. I guess it didn't make a lick of difference when yonder elk done et up the rest of it.
Next on the Agenda, I think I was able to drum up a decent tektek of that Stella gal from DQ9.

Then again... I went off how she's rendered in-game and her hair looked more like the Kanoko hair. Ah well. I tried.
