"Oh lovely, then the objects that are around me can roll right over me where I stand. Good plan." Biting back at him with her words was all she could do and it ate at her. More or less stuck to this hammock and she clapped her hands over her ears against, squeezing her eyes shut to that sound that tormented her so. It wasn't so much a light rain anymore, great. "Kelligrin please...I can't fight with you right now." Frankly her back was killing her from where it had caught the edge of that chest and she shifted uncomfortably, flailing a moment as the hammock didn't like the movement nad hammock were notorious foes for balance.
Golden eyes narrowed at the pirate, clearly telling him that he was starting to ask too many questions. He should just eat him now and save himself the trouble…humans, so expendable and edible with the right amount of char to mask their less than wonderful taste…but so useful alive too if you could lead them in the right directions. Still…pirate snacks were sounding good right now. “Lycear? Lycear is nothing to me…and he’s only alive now because I spared him once before for the sake of youth. But there is no more youth…and I will have my dealings with him when the time comes.” And he would rip him apart with no mercy. Truth be told…he enjoyed the torture he was putting Lycear through by decimating his city and making him guess again and again, whether wrong or right. Mental anguish was supposed to be as such…and Lycear was not done paying his price. “Let me let you in on a little secret…the moment Ilindal regains the orb…pirates like you will be gone when all those shards come together once more. I think that’s a conflict to your interests…isn’t it?”

"I don't see how you figure that. we were here when the orb was whole the first time. I don't see how the orb being remade is going to suddenly make us go away. But lets say your right. Yes, that would be a conflict of interest. Good thing for us both then perhaps that Ilindal won't be around too much longer, isn't it."
Fang waved over one of his crew and handed off a paper to be delivered by carrier hawk.
"my vote for the move to sack Ilindal. the city is weak, and so is it's defense. soon the Lord will descend on it in earnest. No city, no place for teh orb, no reason to go hunting for it's pieces."

Rahsaveer was far less patient than Eilynne when it came to these sorts of things and he waited an acceptable amount of time then let loose an energy coil that wrapped itself around Hunter and gave him a rather nasty shock. "You called this meeting, remember? If you aren't going to participate then we'll let Richards and Robbins rot beneath the sands. Without help they'll never find their way out and you'll greet Jones with a smile on your face and no longer be our problem. Savvy?"
He was about snap back at her when he saw the resolve and then fear claim her expression again. Instantly his anger vanished and he walked back over, picking her up and plopping her in his lap. It was probably better that he didn't say anything. "Then just sit here and let it pass. Stop trying to make your way around since you're scared and let me hold you."

"Yes I did. and you gave me answers. so if you want to get them out of the sands on my ship, that's fine, if you want to get Jones off me, feel free. but like I said. every time I've asked for help before, I've been told a resounding no, that it's not allowed. eventually you stop asking."
that shocking thing hurt, but not too bad, enough to get attention though.
"You both are so overly obsessed with that thing. that orb. it did almost nothing when they did have it, it'll do almost nothng if they get it back. sure, one city will become mecca again. big deal. doesn't help anyone but people of that city, and that's only if that city still stands after the next few weeks."
Richard's gave a slight nod.
"grandfather, eh? You seen him since?"
Desdemona was enjoying the rain, herself. louning on deck, laying on the prow and letting the water clean all the dirt and grim from those hard to reach places between her scales. yes, she was naked..the patches of scales on her back and spine getting a nicely needed rising in the rain.

"And that is why you humans pass so easily, be your death delivered on time or on the wings of something else. You think beause things were one way, they'll always be that way." Flexing his wings some to let water slick down the membrane between the bones in his wings. Rain didn't bother him at all. Raise of an eyebrow, followed by a laugh of the bellowing sorts. "You and yours plan to try and take the city? Your ship was almost taken down by less than a handful of dragons and the others think that they can handle over three dozen of them? My my you humans are ambitious...and just because there is no city does not mean the orb will not be sought after. In fact...it would hasten it."
"I'm not sc..." Oh hell who was she kidding? They knew she was and there was nothing she could do but sit there and try to deal with things as he wanted to play anchor to all of this. "You don't have to stay with me..." Oh she could imagine the curses running through his head and the like. They already hated each other enough and frankly she didn't need it to grow or fester anymore than it had already.

"On the contrary. my ship was almost taken down by three dragons and something else. that last thing might have looked like a dragon at first but certainly wasn't. no dragon changes form that fast, or has forms that can evade a ships crew. I'm have conviced that fourth 'dragon' was one of those Lareathe things. which would explain them looking for pieces of the orb on contract. they'd be the ones to put it back together."
then glancing at the black dragon.
"and even then, as I recall, I got the upperhand. face it, if not for your interference, your nephew and his woman would probably be dead."

Rahsaveer was tempted to give him another mental jolt seeing as he didn't appear to be able to focus too well. "You would have to have a plan, Captain. I can't just go traipsing through the sands to save your man and Gem's without some kind of idea or thought." He declined all comment on the orb. Hunter didn't understand but then few did. The thought of anyone taking over Ilindal was amusing to say the least. The Goddess would never let it happen. Lycear was a key player in her plans.
"Never have." He was beginning to think they were going to die down here. The sailor who'd run off at the mouth had said the tunnels led back to the brothel but he had to find the proper ones. Instead he was going around in circles and Richards certainly wasn't doing anything to help. Not that there was much to do. Splitting up could be more disastrous.
"No, I don't." he agreed softly and merely settled himself more comfortably on the hammock, using it for it's intended use. "We're lying down now." Warning her beforehand, he still went slowly so she knew what he was doing before he did it and she wouldn't freak out. "Do you miss Shyrae?"

"okay, here's a simple plan. we get both men back on this ship. either by leading them to the surface of plowing them up from it. we bring Richards and Thobias to my ship. I'll explain what needs explained, and then, we'll contact Teach. he can trade himself for his family. once I have Teach, we send Thobias back to Gem, I have my insurance policy, and we get the hell out of here before Fang decides to not play nice and wait."
glancing at him.
"That sound good to you?"

“Even with one of those pests…three dragons pales in comparison to three dozen dragons, all with use of elemental weapons that they will not dare to hesitate to use. And you forget…only three dragons went against you when there were more there. It is you who may not be around without my bluffing. Or was your desperation for my scales only for the pretty effect on your ship?” Humans…they were so cocky that they let themselves believe lies and thus it killed them. “I’ve nothing to face…you’ve yet to experience a dragon’s rage. Even the little Rider Dragons are still deadly…just dumb as dogs.”
And ye het was not leaving...okay then that meant that he was staying. In fact he was making himself comfortable in her spot and she was more or less forced to as well. A squirm from time to time in dis comfort but other than that she was relatively still and quiet. "What kind of question is that? I miss everyone I'm close to when they're gone. But some people aren't cut out for certain things and I respect that. Wanderlust isn't kind to some."

"the difference between you, a Rider dragon, and Ilindall's defenders, is the sanctity of human life. they won't go changing forms and using breath weapons when we're so close to their precious citizenry. they'll go entirely on the defensive. and we can seige that city until starvation does the job for us. and your are correct that three dragons managed to handle my singular ship quite effectively."
placing his hands behind his back.
"Which is why I have other arrangements for Ilindall. I of course won't be going to this little seige. however, in my place a spearhead of Riders will be. They are going in my place, with the prize for them being free eggs for the taking."

"And by 'we' you mean Kaznec and Jaebelltiah since you were including them in this plan, too. There's only two problems I foresee in this plan. The first being what good is it to use Kaznec and Jaebelltiah who don't know the labyrinths under the sands any better than you. Richards and Robbins are somewhere beneath your feet but those tunnels and such stretch on for miles. There is an escape route that Robbins was likely utilizing but he doesn't know the way anymore than you do." He was beginning to enjoy this. "And secondly, what makes you so sure this Teach is going to make himself party to your plan? You intend to use family against him, but do you know for sure that family will sway him?"
"An honest one. I was curious." Shaking his head and listening for a moment, then frowning. "Do you think that's why she went back home? I'd wondered...thought maybe she ran into trouble here that she couldn't quite handle. When I saw that Captain...I was just about positive. Then again, Mom's always been there for her and with another baby, maybe she just felt the pull?"

"Because I know Teach. family is all he has left that keeps him around and moving on. many of Thobias' 'accidental' contacts have been through Teach's influence in proper circles. I've helped do the dirty work."
looking at the pest a moment.
"I was thinking more along just me and you. I saw you sweep people away. you brought Lycear to my ship from his city, in a flash. why can't you do the same for me adn you to get to Richard and Thobias?"
then a shrug.
"But lets say your right. Teach doesn't want to do the deal. I have other options. I can trade over Des, or I can take down the black dragon. neither of which appeal to me. Unless you have some method of voiding a deal brokered with Jones, I'll need to get Teach in my brig or at least on the sands. if that means dragging him off this Atoll by force, then that's what it means."

“And do you think Lycear has not thought of such things. The dragons will take wing as soon as they know the pirates assemble with ill intent on the horizon. And we all know that’s the only reason more than three ships gather together and don’t port. He’s old, not stupid.” Raising an eyebrow as Fang talked of Riders though. Hmm…he was a tad closer to those fools for comfort’s sake. “You better make sure there are clutches of eggs in Ilindal before you commit to them…if they’re aren’t then they’re going to retaliate against you full force. Especially since they don’t like the hassle of breaking civil dragons.
“I think the Riders had a little to do with it. She tried very hard to help Sky but even that thing has made little progress in the grand scheme and would probably go chasing after a ball thrown past her like a good little dragon.” Shaking her head to that one. “Captain Hawk is oppressive as the sand is expansive here. Too much grating on her tender ideals I suppose but that’s not her fault. But yes you’re right as well…your mother and her are close. Personally…I think the lifestyle thus far was hard for her. Killing and such for profit or gain or for the hell of it sometimes.”

"If you're sure, then you're sure." He quirked an eyebrow as Hunter began sounding very much like a child who wanted his own way and so compared himself to his older or younger sibling. "I did. I could if I knew where they were. However, I don't, and neither do you and you have yet to offer me a solution to finding them." He laughed softly, humans were so fickle. "I can easily deal with Jones, if I choose to. This is your mess, Hawk, so you'll be the one to suffer. You choose who you betray and by what means you seal your fate. Just remember, all choices have consequences."
He was careful how he responded when it came to his sister but he agreed at least in part with Savvy's thoughts. "That would be quite rough on her. She never did take well to people who treated animals like they had no brain, spirit, or soul. She's always had a bit of a surface elven relationship with them, really. She took her dog with her, I saw." Tapping his fingers where they rested on her thigh and lightly rocking the hammock with his foot to give her something to focus on besides the rain. "She was brought up pretty sheltered since she was the youngest and Mom was terrified of losing her. It's not difficult to understand that such things might be impossible for her to adjust to. I was just wondering. I was planning on sending her a letter and if you wished to see her, I could request she make another visit."

"Well then we're just going to have to wait. I've no way of tracking them down. even with the dragons, there's as you said miles and miles of tunnel. it'd be like searching for a single grain of salt in the expanse of the sands. There's no solution to offer. I've no tools in my inventory to do the job. the only person on this ship that might even stand a chance of tracking them would be the necromancer and she wouldn't lift a finger except to throw me to the sand worms."
"I have my informants keep track. there's more then enough to be a sufficient bribe. and the pirate armada is rather massive. we've handled dragon clans before, we can handle Ilindall. That is if they'll agree to do it while the city is so vulnerable."
