Remus's face was focused and serious. "Don't be so sure of that, I've got all kinds of surprises as I'm sure you do as well." He flipped the sword around a few times and pointed it at the second in command. "Your move."

The second in command grinned, nodding slightly as he raised his katana a feet few away from him before charging.
Everyone was watching now, including Lina, who was suddenly feeling that this fight was beginning to become a test of some sort for Remus. She dearly hoped he would pass.

As the man went for a frontal assault, Remus held the sword in front of him point up. As the blade came at his chest, he spun his arm to the left, forcing the katana in the same direction. He took the opening this forced, attempting to throw his elbow into his opponent's collar bone.

The vampire's eyes narrowed slightly as he forced himself to move with the katana, making Remus' elbow hit his shoulder instead. A he winced slightly as he made the tip of the sword hit the ground so he would have enough leverage to kick towards his legs before flipping out of harm's way.

Remus moved with the kick, somersaulting forwards to avoid leaving himself open. Not wasteing any more time than he had to, he changed direction as he came to his feet. His blade making a downward right arc towards the vampire.

He ran towards Remus as well, their speed making them clash together and lock their blades. He growled lightly as he began to push the lycan backwards.

Remus stared into the vampire's eyes for a moment before smiling. He spun, letting the vampire's own force carry him. His spin brought his arm around to hit him in the back of the head and his foot rotated, keeping it's same location to trip him as he passed.

The other elders smirked as they saw his move, already deciding who would win in their minds as the second in command fell hard on the ground, the wind knocked out of him as his stomach hit the ground. He rolled on is back and smiled back, raising his hannd slightly for help, "Pretty good. If I don't watch myself I'll have a rival for my position I think..."

Remus grinned and warily helped him up. He stepped away to let him catch his breath. "Shall we continue or are we done?"

"We are done for now," he said, wiping the dirt of his clothing as he said, "But you and I will fight again. That I promise." he nodded slightly to Remus as he grinned, walking away with his sword slowly resheathing.
A few of the elders followed him while some began training once again. Lina on the other hand had stayed where she was, smiling as she folded her arms, "I believe you passed."

He saw her and gave her a quizzical look. "Passed?" He'd been so absorbed in the battle he hadn't noticed the test side of the ordeal.

Lina laughed lightly and so did a few nosy others, "You were being tested Remus. To see if you were worthy of the esteem they held for you...and to see if the incident from before was truly an accident." she walked towards and placed a hand on his shoulders she said, "You fight honorably Remus and that saw that. Things will be easier for you now."

He laughed lightly to himself at his own obliviousness. "Well in that case I'm glad I passed." He looked over his shoulder at where his opponent had left. "I forgot to ask, what was his name?"

"Salen," she replied, looking that wau as well, "He's very agile and skilled with his blade, which makes me wonder..." she frowned slightly, "Why he didn't use his agility to stop himself from falling?"
